- [ Effective Camouflage ] | The CF-01 'Chameleon' lives up to its name and effectively can render anything it is applied to invisible, especially in environments such as tundras, heavily vegetated forests, or deserts where everything looks the same.
- [ Wear and Tear ] | Once any damage is done to the fabric, the affected area more or less is rendered completely useless until it is replaced or repaired.
- [ Warping ] | While from a distance, the user can be hidden and nearly impossible to see visually, there is a visual 'warping' issue when a person gets close enough to the wearer. This visual distortion becomes more and more apparent the closer one gets to it and can render the camouflage ineffective at a distance of 10-15 meters. This warping and distortion also becomes apparent while moving quickly or firing a high rate of fire weapon.
- [ EMP ] | As the fabric is electronic based, any interference from EMP's will have varying degrees of effect depending on proximity. The fabric will 'stutter' on the outer area of effect of an EMP while being completely shut off if any detonate close to it, making the user stand out as stark white.
DESCRIPTION
While unpowered and inactive, the CF-01 'Chameleon' fabric appears as stark white. While powered and active, the fabric actively 'reads' its environment and projects a hologram over the fabric, effectively blending the wearer in with their surroundings. Simple and effective, it is a tool that is especially loved by those who favor sniping or when one needs to move around unseen for operations. The CF-01 can be applied over metal plates to conceal armored wearers as well.
