Rationale: Ceredir Industries was formed by Audren Sykes. There have been times when he found himself in need or want of certain types of equipment not found in the general market. Typically the situations came down to special ordering, which both attracted attention and ended up costing extra. Creating a company capable of meeting many of those needs and wants was an obvious solution, one which would allow him to produce what he needed and sell those products he thought might be useful. Additionally, the company would allow him a method of income, making him less dependent on the Sanctum.
Description: The company is a slow-going, easy-paced one given the small size and that the owner's focus is often elsewhere. New products are typically developed and produced with the help of locals knowledgeable in the field. A fair percentage of the profit is passed along to the experts involved in the particular product, which serves to keep all parties happy. As a safeguard, the experts are contractually obligated not to take the products they've helped develop and sell them (or derivatives) in competition with Ceredir. Ideas for the new products can come from any direction: special orders, the experts, or Audren himself. While the ultimate goal of the company is profit, it is also a hobby for the owner, someplace to stretch his imagination and focus on skills other than combat or Force-related ones.
Fortuitous sales made it possible, necessary for the company to expand. The Galactic Alliance's annexation of Naboo and the systems around it, those affected by the collapse of the Techno Union, allowed the Sephi to purchase a small factory with offices. This would allow production to ramp up and start meeting the numbers requested by the contract with the Sanctum and the purchases by various mercenary groups.
Though the owner of Ceredir Industries is a Jedi and a member of the Silver Sanctum Coalition, the company itself is independent.
