BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Designed to assist in defending vehicles against urban warfare threats this weapon is a defensive turret which is specifically designed for use against missiles and rockets, and even able to counter hand-thrown grenades and it has an anti-infantry fire mode in the event the vehicle is being swarmed. This weapon is able to be deployed on any vehicle with the power surplus to give, and the space to mount the weapon. The system is also easy to use for its crew, who merely has to pick a fire mode. However, there is a limit to this system, and larger missiles and even some bombs will be able to shrug off the hits from its blaster shotguns' fire.

- A small twin-barreled turret which is mounted onto the corner of a vehicle hull or vehicle turret and slaved to an incoming-fire sensor which detects incoming missiles and rockets as well hostile infantry.
- When it detects incoming fire the turrets facing the threat will slew over to the target ordinance, and once in range (~50 feet) the twin blaster shotgun in the turret will begin firing at their high rate of fire (~800 RPM) until the munition is defeated or it strikes the vehicle.
- Vehicles like tanks and walkers mount x4 of these turrets and their sensors, larger walkers mount as many as needed, and smaller vehicles like speeders can mount one or two.
- Excellent countermeasure for enemy rockets, missiles, and grenades.
- Limited effectiveness against enemy infantry, but very effective against infantry at close range.
- High-rate of fire and shotgun-style fire puts lots of fire into the air.
- Tied into a vehicle's power generator and can fire continuously for several minutes.
- Long-range fire is not going to be very effective.
- Not effective at all versus blaster and railgun weapons.
- Not man-portable.
- Is somewhat fragile.
