Niobium/Tin Electromagnetic Accelerators

Strengths

Fast - Designed primarily for Hit and Run, the MT-02 accommodates this very well with its massive thrust.

Tough - Sacrificing shields for light-weight, the FWB's outermost layers are made of Ultrachrome, giving it a high resistance to most energy-based attacks. The rest of the hull (Inner layers) is comprised of Alusteel.

Armoured Cockpit - The Cockpit Windows are shielded by thick Alusteel. Instead of looking at blank metal when flying, pilots receive a constant feed of the environment outside by tens of micro-cameras dotted around the ships hull. When enough of these cameras are destroyed to limit visibility, the Alusteel retracts and exposes normal Transparasteel

Weaknesses

Detectable - The use of powerful MT-02 engines makes the FWB a very detectable ship.

Poor Miles/Gallon - The MT-02 use a lot of power and fuel. The FWB won't last as long as most other Bombers before needing refuelling.

Underbelly - The underside of the FWB lacks Ultrachrome plate, instead being comprised of Frasium. This is to allow for aggressive aerobraking and re-entry without sacrificing structural integrity. Being mostly Frasium the underside is vulnerable to attack.

No Shields - To save on weight, the FWB lacks a shield generator

Description

Designed for Hit and Run Frontline Bombing Assaults, the FWB is a fast, durable, and terrifying Bomber. Equipped with 4 Forward Facing Laser Cannons and most often carrying a single ANO-01 Antimatter Bomb.

In no way a Fighter, the FWB is often accompanied by a small escort of 2 or 3 fighters for more precise missions. In the case of Frontline Battle, the FWB will simply throttle up, sprint to its target, drop a bomb and leave quicker than it arrived. But you'll know it's there before you've even seen it. Powered by a single MT-02 Plasma Engine, ground troops will hear its groaning screech after the Sonic Boom of it punching into a Planet's Atmosphere.

Hi [member="Orex Mauda"], I'll be reviewing your sub today.

So, I just have a few points I want to bring to your attention.

Vacuum - Very Fast ASL - Fast
While I understand what you mean, could you please use the template's ratings just to keep uniformity over the factory?

Building off that, currently the submission is a little overpowered. If you run it through the spreadsheet you'll note that you are 2 - 3 ratings too high depending on vacuum or atmospheric speeds. My suggestion would be to lower other rating to balance that.

I would also suggest that you include the lack of shields.

as a weakness.

Lowered Hyperdrive to 1.4 (+2)

Lowered Defense Rating to Low

Added Lack of Shields weakness

Will speed still be a problem?

It's fast. It can outrun the vast majority of ships, only countered by its own fuel consumption.

Anyway I can be more specific in its rating?

[member="Orex Mauda"]

We use the rating system precisely because of this, to allow a better comparison of ships.

I've copied the speed rating from the template below.
  • Speed Rating: (Choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, Moderate, High, Very High, Extreme. How fast is your ship in normal space? How fast can it take off, how fast can it speed through a planet's atmosphere? This is relative to the size of the vessel (e.g. a Corvette with Low Speed will be quicker than a Star Destroyer with a Low Speed.
From your description, it sounds like you're looking for a high or very high rating which would leave the fighter as slightly unbalanced. I'd suggest plugging the ratings into the template below, it's a really good way for checking your balance.

As it currently stands I don't believe the submission is balanced. I would recommend reducing 4 ratings to balance it out. Using the spreadsheet I linked is a really good way to figure out the balance. However, if you wish to have the bomber approved in iitscurrent form just let me know and I will do so, but that may mean it will be reported if it's used and it will then be pulled back to the factory for review.

I also noticed that you're missing a squadron count, the wording below.

  • Squadron Count: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission would have in a squadron. The average squadron for any starfighter is 12, at lengths averaging 12.5 meters. The bigger the fighter, the smaller your Squadron Count should be. The smaller the fighter, the bigger your Squadron count can be. [None: 1 | Very Low: 4 | Low: 8 | Average: 12 | Moderate: 16 | High: 20 | Very High: 24 | Extreme: 28] Squadron Sizes may be listed as just the rating.)
While I can approve the rating that exist, you'll need to put squadron rating in as well.

The second Pinterest link, Pinterest, is to a different image from the one used in the submission. Could you please link the correct image?

Ah yeh, will do Squadron.

I ran it through the Spreadsheet at the size and it came out balanced?

Will correct link as well

What size did you use? I assigned the length (10m)

*Edit: Nevermind, One second

*Edit Numero Dos: Balanced
