Description:
After the success of the CAS – 5 Light Armour system, development of a heavier, more durable armour began immediately. This new armour model, the CAS – 6 would act as the second armour systemic the CAS series to be offered to the military assets of the Orion Corporation and selective branches within the Galactic Republic.

As the successor to the light armour system, CAS – 6, this heavy armour system trades the mobility and flexibility of the previous model for much more heavy but durable armour which is capable of withstanding much higher amounts of damage and sustained fire. Whereas the CAS – 5 model had spaced out, thin Durasteel plates only covering the vital organs of the wearer, the CAS – 6 model has thicker Durasteel plates covering the majority of the body. These plates are able to withstand more sustained fire compared to the plates on the previous model but the smaller spacing a between them inhibit the movement of the operator. Even though there is an increased number of plates making up the armour, these still don't contribute to most of the additional weight. A large majority of the weight comes from the backpack attached to the armour. This heavy duty backpack can carry ammo, equipment and almost anything else which can fit and is light enough for the carrier. Like the CAS – 5 model, the helmet of this model is extremely well protected. The Durasteel featured in it is much thicker and durable compared to the armour on the torso and instead of Polypropylene, the visor has been replaced by significantly tougher Transparisteel, increasing the overall protection of the wearer.
