Description:
It was apparent to the new CEO of The Orion Corporation, Jaccer Ramirez, that the armour produced by the company was lacking in comparison to the competitors. In an attempt to provide armour sets for all purposes Jaccer started his workers on the CAS series armour systems. Security and military assets would be provide this armour to increase their effectiveness in combat situations and selective groups within the Galactic Republic would also be provided with this armour. These groups provided with the armour would serve as field tests and trials for the Galactic Republic before they decided whether or not they would invest credits into buying large amounts of the armour.

As hinted at by the name, this armour was designed to be lightweight. However, this would come the cost of the protection for the wearer. The Durasteel panels found on the upper arms, lower arms, torso and knees are very spaced out with only a thick layer of Polypropylene parting them. This would allow the wearer increased flexibility and joint movement but also make them more vulnerable to blaster and ballistic fire. The armour is also capable of functioning with an armoured bodysuit underneath, incase the operator would require the additional protection. The helmet is a very simple design. Unlike the rest of the armour, over 50% of it is made up of the visor made of transparent Poly (methyl methacrylate). The remaining parts of the helmet are made of a thick layer of Durasteel, this makes the visor a weak sport compared to the torso and other armoured plates. Because of the placement of the plates the majority of the wearer vital organs are covered in at least 1 layer of protection, mainly Durasteel. In addition to the upper body plates, the lower legs are covered in a thin layer of Plasteel. Even thought it is not strong enough to survive sustained fire or direct impacts from high caliber weaponry, it is capable of ricocheting debris and slower moving projectiles. These plates are also able to bend to a certain extent which aids the wearers ability of flexibility and movement speed.
