OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Carpoan.
  • Designation: Non-Sentient.
  • Origins: Valythor.
  • Average Lifespan: 60 years.
  • Estimated Population: Inter-Planetary.
  • Description: A small, chubby and curious species of amphibious reptiles that are said to resemble toads. The Carpoans are a species capable of hopping up to two meters in the air when they move, suitable for existing in most sorts of terrains, revealing quite an amount of interesting aspects of them such as being found on desertic planets such as Tatooine which revealed to xenobiologists that the Carpoan's are endothermic beings while preferring to inhabit areas on swamps where they revel on taking long mud baths, a carpoan can be found at riverbanks, swimming on deep lakes and even on oceans, crossing great miles to find a suitable area for reproduction.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I.
  • Average Height of Adults: Members can grow up to a hundred and twenty centimeters.
  • Average Length of Adults: Members can grow up to eighty centimeters.
  • Skin color: Various shades of green.
  • Hair color: Not Applicable.
  • Distinctions: The first easily spot aspect on a carpoan would be that females grow larger than its males, and are blessed with many dark lentigos on their backs, unlike their male counterparts that don't carry any marks on their bodies. The second is their tongues, used by members of the species as whips to catch insects and small prey with ease, endowed with a surface covered by microscopic hairs capable of excreting a sticky substance such as glue, which is very difficult to detach, a xenobiologist noted that it would be easier to cut a carpoan's tongue off than actually detaching it. Noted with greater healing abilities found on many reptile species throughout the galaxy, the Carpoans walk on their lower legs most of the time, but can also use their short stout arms for climbing and digging, with their claws growing thick and capable of piercing through most fabrics at ease.
  • Races: Not Applicable.
  • Force Sensitivity: All.
STRENGHTS:
  • Tender - Sought mostly for their meat, said to be delicious and much smoother. The Carpoan are used from their skin used to make the comforts such as clothing like their bones used to manufacture weapons handles and household utensils. While nearly every single inch of flesh in their body is considered eatable, their legs are the most prized parts for their tender and easily seasoned composition, like their hearts, livers, arms, brains, guts, ribs are attractive for peasants and royalty for being delicacies.
  • Backspikes - On a carpoan's back grows a series of lined spikes used for protection and intimidation, its not their pointy ends that scare others, but their ability to exude the inner sacks that grow on their backs which accumulate a very, very deadly toxin to all sorts of creatures in the galaxy. A single spike is said to being capable of knocking out a male adult Rancor.
  • Nullifiers Glands - Despite being very poisonous, the Carpoan species are not only highly sought for how delicious their meat is, nor how poisonous their spikes are but their ability to completely nullifying themselves in the Force. Capable of disappearing entirely in the Force, the Carpoan was discovered of carrying certain glands that assist them in reproducing such skills, but when rubbed on a solid surface, their glands had the ability to make such object completely invisible within the Force, but that only lasted for a couple of hours. And when ground and injected on a force user's veins, these glands could not only infect them with their poisonous toxins but dampen their skills with the Force on the manners very similar to those Force Users addicted to spice.
  • They like to spit - Carpoan's have one biological trait used by them as offensive means. This one composes of a thick, jelly glue that is expectorated by them, said to be so sticky that not even an adult Rancor can free himself with brute strength alone, this substance is so jelly and malleable that when in contact with energy-based weaponry such as plasmatic blades and lightsabers it has the similar effect as the blade would when dived in the water. This sticky substance evaporates by itself when in contact with oxygen after one hour or so, slowly turning itself back to its stomachal fluid-like primal state.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Pathethic - Despite its natural biological defenses, the Carpoans are regarded as physically weaker creatures. Defending against them can be quite easy, as their compositions make them the perfect herd animals with few ways of defending themselves, with naturally craven personalities that drive them on attempting to run away in any given threatening situation.
  • Outage Ways - Not only are their cowards, but also ridiculously gullible. To have them drawn with food or a simple petting hand to rub behind their pointy heads is such an easy way of persuading them to a deadly trap and a lifetime of incarceration.
  • Sensitive - The Carpoans are sensitive to all sorts of external damage, their skin is so sensitive that a simple kick may kill them. If not by brute force, out of panic, giving them a certain heart attack.
  • Nullifier Properties¹ - Despite their properties, the Carpoan is not immune to the Force, nor is he immune to other nullifiers such as voidstones and ysalamir. It is theorized that the presence of nullified may drive a carpoan insane from having its connection lost with the Force, or may cause him such grief that to certain death is to come from those effects.
  • Nullifier Properties² - The presence of voidstones and ysalamir products, alongside other nullifier agents has proved to completely nullify their nullifying effects on items, solid materials, and inside the organism of force-sensitive beings.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Insectivore creatures, the Carpoans can eat any sort of meat that is able to fit within their mouths. Not only reserved of eating insects, but this sensational sluggish toad species have also shown quite a taste for eating any other living creature smaller than them.
  • Communication: Known to possess a loud melodic shrill croaking language almost impossible to be understood. The Carpoan's language has been regarded as an exotic melody by the sentient species they share their planetary grounds.
  • Technology level: Not Applicable.
  • Religion/Beliefs: Not entirely applicable, for, some xenobiologists have observed a very curious behavioral aspect of the carpoan's around the galaxy referred to only as "Greetings", those are loud booming tunes produced by the carpoan's every morning when the sun rises in the sky that may last up to half an hour, and another one when the moon reaches its peak in the dark night sky.
  • General behavior: Carpoan's are herd creatures and have very tight bonds with their families. Their colonies or herds may form up to three hundred carpoan's bound to live together and protect each other from outside perils, those herds are usually led by the eldest carpoan's females among them that usually live a comfortable life right at the center of those communities, being taken care of by their young progeny until the day they die, for they are regarded are venerable elders for not only their sizes but also their tremendous weights. Carpoan communities when living on favorable terrain have the habit of digging intricated tunnels beneath the earth used for shelter and protection. During the height of winters, wild carpoan's can hibernate until spring arrives and are not easily awakened by any means whatsoever, only to be very active during their mating seasons during summers, where they procure ponds and lakes for their beautiful and melodic reproduction rituals.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Not much regarding the Carpoan's past can be said, even by the
Elzeri standards. A species that are quite famous for keeping horribly long detailed narratives of the smallest kinds of snails to the largest trees from their original planet. What is known as detailed by their ancient scrolls is that the first carpoan came to be when the Astral, Astaldo the Hunstman, grew bored of the elzeri's lifestyle of growing crops and eating only what grew on trees and plants reachable by them. The Hunstman of the Lords wanted his children to grow as wild and proud as he was, therefore he took the mud out of a pond alongside a large oval-shaped rock he found and shaped those to assume a ridiculous appearance for his amusement, creating the first Clan.

On that Clan, the Carpoan roamed the land, hopped, and swam through its lakes and ponds. But life was harsh and Astaldo was harsher, and the Carpoan discovered themselves preyed easily by other animals, and even by the elzeri, their friends and foes, for there were those among the Star Children that trained them to keep it as pets. Disillusioned by what life gave her, the Revered Mother croaked for nine days and nine nights calling for the Hunstman in many names said to be known only by animals. Tired of all that noise, storming his ears inside his palace, Astaldo appeared to the Great Mother and demanded to know by what right was she entitled of demanding anything from him.

"None.", said the mother, "But as the Atar that made you, we are his children, blessed with wisdom and fiery will to endure on mud. Are we to be hunted to extinction on lakes and rivers without any means to defend ourselves?"
"It was the reason why I made you and your kind. To fill the rivers and lakes for my pleasure, to serve as cattle for the Children to draw them further into my bosom.", Astaldo informed her, growing tired of all the talking.

"But soon we shall meet oblivion and be cast into nothingness by the same hunters you praise so much and all your work will be for nothing."

Pondering on that, Astaldo saw into the rivers of life and noticed that the Revered Mother spoke the truth. After a while in silence, for what seemed to be a whole life for the carpoan mother, the Hunstman once again decided to speak.

"Very well.", he said, "For what is fair is fair, and what fun could it be found on a hunt that fights not back?", Astaldo taught the Carpoan how to hide, he taught them how to live off the land, which berries they should eat, which insects were easily found, and gave them spikes and mucus from their stomachs to cheat their foes and hop on to eternal freedom. Out of every carpoan's death, Astaldo said, nourishment would come and for that sacrifice, they would find eternal happiness in the afterlife where endless swamps crawling with bugs and berries would be found by them.

Hi Lunafreya Solidor Lunafreya Solidor , this is one amazing read! I absolutely love the Carpoan. They're strangely cute and I can definitely see some of my chars wanting one as a pet :p Their history is really well thought out, I adore how it reads like a legend or a fable.

I only have one single request and that's to add a link to your equally amazing species
The Elzeri! I saw them mentioned in the history and I took a look for myself and I definitely think they deserve to shine here :)
