Carpe Diem, Baby

Sometimes the best way to remain inconspicuous was to not even try at all.

If his time on Point Nadir had taught Thrask anything it was that people with something to hide often had the most glaring of tells. Their body language was perpetually stiff, small ticks formed in their words or actions, and for the most part they chose shady corners and wore hoods or cowls. It all seemed so ludicrous to him, stressful even.

All around him Twi'lek servers walked with trays bearing alcoholic beverages within their grasp. Up on the stage of whatever club it was he had found himself within tonight - honestly they all seemed the same to him these days - a band played a quiet melody which floated on the air, ever present yet not so glaring as to overwhelm conversations, while the vocalist sang rather sweetly in truth. That was rare in these parts.

Carved from the asteroid itself, the establishment had rocky walls yet they had been smoothed down over time when it passed from hand to hand. It appeared almost like sandstone these days, in fact it would have fit in well on some distant desert world like Tatooine. A little higher class than what he'd read about in Mos Eisley but that didn't seem too difficult. It was one of the nicer clubs in the shadowport.

Reaching out he grasped one of the drinks floating around the room and gave the Twi'lek who had been carrying it upon her tray a quick grin of thanks. She was gone as quickly as the brief encounter happened, and from his table in the center of the floor he watched her saunter away with great admiration.

Then his eyes fell back to his datapad.

Angled toward the stage, and only focusing in part on the task at hand due to the fact that he was genuinely enjoying the evenings' entertainment, Thrask allowed his gaze to switch between the two. He sipped at the drink, it was drier than he'd have liked but he wasn't keeping the tab so he didn't care, before entering a few lines of code to the datapad and setting it back down with a sigh.

Extending his arm out he adjusted the sleeve of his shirt in order to get a read of his chrono, yet that only had him scowling at the time. How long had he been sat here for, exactly?

She slipped quietly through the crowd. Her strange primitive attire usually earned her odd looks or outright disdain on the more "civilized" worlds but here she found most people were either too selfabsorbed to care or their attention was reserved for something that could make them money. It was true some stared but they wore their intentions so openly that it was simple to deter them.

She walked toward the club on the shadowport intent on indulging a guilty pleasure while her ship was fueled and her cargo offloaded. 2 tons of stolen Mandalorian scrap had earned her enough for supplies, fuel, and just about anything she could want from a shadowport like this.

She entered the club and paused at the music. She had been told that a good band was playing but she had expected it to be good only by trash standards. She was pleasantly surprised it was actually fair. She sauntered in and cast her dark eyes over various patrons as she passed looking for a table where she could order and sit without having to awkwardly join a group she'd just as soon not listen to.

It took a moment but she settled at a table adjacent to a man who also sat alone and idly checked a chrono on his wrist. Likely he was waiting for someone. He had the look. She removed her fur cloak, which revealed her plain tanned leatheris top and dark leatheris breaches. Her lithe frame nearly a match for one of the twi'lek dancers if slightly less...rounded in areas. She ordered a drink, simple straight alcohol of some sort with a sour citrus complement. It arrived a moment later and she listened. Forgot all and listened.
