STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Caomhi is naturally flexible and agile due to her cartilaginous skeletal structure, but it also makes her more physically frail and inclined towards speed rather than strength. Her species is inherently force sensitive and it's rumored that red haired individuals are endowed with clairvoyant gifts from the goddess Vahl, but this comes with the drawback of native vulnerability to the temptations of the dark side that require a great deal of discipline to overcome.
APPEARANCE:
Outwardly humanoid with body features to match, Caomhi hardly seems as though she belongs to any remarkably divergent alien race on first glance. However, the slender, lanky build native to her species grants a slightly greater height than some of her peers which will only increase with age to reach about two meters at full maturity. In fact, the most abnormal Vahlan physical attribute lies beneath the surface, that being her skeleton which is uniquely composed of thick cartilage instead of bone, offering far greater flexibility than the human baseline at the cost of relative frailty by comparison. Her skin takes on a pallid, pale complexion, as if the color had been drained from it, leaving behind a smooth whitish sheen only interrupted by gentle accents of dusky reddish-brown around her eyes. It holds yet another secret in the form of scarified tissue twisted to reflect the scripture and symbology of her native cult, mostly confined to her upper back, their true meaning as yet undeciphered. These grim tokens of her tortured upbringing are almost always hidden from view beneath traditional Jedi robes, unconventionally embroidered with an intricate array of distinct mandala designs. Trailing over top of these garments are long wavy curtains of fiery reddish-orange hair that curl and contort in wild unruly patterns as if by their own volition. This coloration is in fact exceedingly rare amongst the Vahla, and is said to embody the prophetic blessings of their mother deity, perhaps reflected in its photoreceptive nature that prompts spectral shifts depending on Caomhi's emotional state, with trademark influences of the dark side changing her hair to a brilliant bloodred hue.
PERSONALITY:
Caomhi expresses powerful empathy and understanding of others' perspectives while not entirely understanding her own identity or place in the cosmos. The thoughtful padawan is capable of deep and unbroken concentration but prone to becoming overwhelmed by this focus and lost within its depths, her attention often drifting away in a distant sort of dreamscape that inevitably separates her from others. She's quiet and introverted in spite of her strengths, difficult for all but the most dedicated of companions to understand, with the deeply debilitating veil of trauma being her main source of unintentional isolation. Irrepressibly inquisitive by nature, the sole pursuit that drives her above all else is to learn about the ways of the world and by extension, perhaps find where she fits into it all.
BIOGRAPHY:
Hailing from a furtive race of zealous interstellar nomads, Caomhi's formative experiences were fraught with solitude from the moment she was born to the cold, unfeeling embrace of a starship hull. Her people had long since been cut off from their distant homeworld, its name lost to time and sheer existence the stuff of legends forged in the aftermath of an ancient genocide at the hands of the Jedi Order. She had no place to call her own, save for the cramped living quarters of a heavily modified aftermarket transport hauling craft dubbed the Veilfire and deemed a sacred vessel by the leaders of her native cult, the Ember of Vahl. The reason being that this redheaded child was viewed as both prophet and omen of considerable potential from the moment she was born, a sort of vaguely messianic figure for her species meant to help guide them through the galaxy among the ruling elite just as their goddess once had. She was thus groomed by the central ruling elements of the coven to hone her innate talents and eventually join their council, acting as an astropath and farseer. However, this supposed reverence meant being confined to their wandering fleet in an effort to bring her closer to the void and aid in her blessed corruption. This band of starborne brigands was only able to evade the watchful eye of the Silver Jedi for so long before being tracked down and slain once again for their dark-dealing machinations, leaving only a traumatized orphan child of the cosmos behind. Witnessing her parents' slaughter triggered a rare and mysterious phenomenon known as flashburn in which potent sensitives forcibly suppress their own memories, with a tattered patchwork prevailing amidst the hazy depths of her ailing conscious mind. The Concordat recognized this troubled young girl's potential as well as the risks of shuttling her off to a foster family given the dark gifts she possessed, and instead elected to take her in as their own responsibility, guiding her to attain a brighter future, free of the shadows that enveloped her childhood. Years later, dutiful study and rigorous training have crafted Caomhi into a talented Padawan who aspires to great heights, most of all uncovering the truth of her ancestry and what it might uncover about the path that lies ahead.
