Can You Take The Heat?

Isla watched silently as the sand began to swirl around, almost like the desert was coming to life. She could feel the force rippling around them, and she narrowed her gaze to try and keep the sand from getting into her eyes. Her muscles tensed as she sensed the Jedi begin to move, feeling it before her green eyes confirmed that the other woman was now moving through the storm of sand. In a flash, it seemed that the dark haired Jedi had disappeared... but little did Isla realize that the woman was now behind her. And before she could react, she felt a force push contacting her back.

Her tall form flew forward, hitting the ground again. This time, Isla did not allow herself to remain there for long. She quickly pushed up onto her knees, and she spun, her saber slashing for the woman’s feet. It would give her time to get back to her own feet... Isla pushed off the ground, this time taking their fight to another level... one that involved fists. The Jedi’s saber was still deactivated, so Isla took a chance to lunge quickly, her fist speeding forward towards the woman’s stomach.

Orihime was surprised at what happened, less so that it hit but more because she really wasn't one for dueling. The last two had been against people who seemed to just know everythign she was doing and not only had a counter for that but ten moves ahead. This was a refreshing moment when she was standing there and watching the girl slash at her feet hopping up and over the blade before she felt a fist come in towards her midsection that connected. Dirivng into her gut while she reacted grabbing at the arm and trying to hold it close while her legs came up to try and swing up crossing for an arm bar styled grab so she could control the other woman's movement somewhat. Squeezing to try and apply a little pressure as she spoke looking at her with her saber ready to block and defend against that other blade. "You know if you wanted to get close you could have bought me dinner."

Isla felt her fist connect with the Jedi’s middle, and a smile spread across her face at the feeling of impact. However, the smile was not meant to last. For a moment later, she found her arm in the other woman’s grasp... and the Jedi’s leg was over her arm. The Jedi and the Knight of Ren were close now, far too close. Isla attempted to move side to side in an attempt to break free, but it was no use.

Her saber was in her left hand, her non-dominant side. It was less powerful and far less accurate. The angle was all wrong for an attack. It looked like her options were few. The redhead’s expression soured, her eyes narrowed sharply and her frustration was on the rise. And here the Jedi was... joking around now.

Being held in such a way brought Isla back to her childhood. Growing up with many brothers had made her tough, and it had taught her a few useful things when it came to fighting. It was simple – she needed to fight dirty. For a brief moment, her hand dropped her saber, and took up a handful of hot sand. Unlike the Jedi, she did not use the force to power her use of the sand... this would go down the old fashioned way. Quickly, she rolled slightly and threw the hand at her opponent’s face.

Her saber was back in hand an instant later, and she continued to struggle, now pulling the force to her to aid her strength.

She could feel it and there was force energy in the arm while Orihie worked dto keep her grip on it staying with some of the energy she was giving out on it. The jedi padawans stayed at the ready though while she tilted her head down until something stung at her eyes and face. SMall grains pelting her face, her mouth, her eyes, her cheeks while she threw her head back and was slammed on the ground. Staying with her grip as she tightened to try and break the arm to at least keep it going. More force energy going into her grip and strength before she tried twisting it at different angles to make it a full arm break with snaps not protruding out. "Oww no fair."

Isla only laughed when the Jedi responded to the sand now in her face. Life was not fair, why should this be any different? The Ren’s laughter became somewhat delirious, her head thrown back sharply as pain began to radiate through her arm and shoulder. The force of her own struggle, added to the strength of the woman holding her was too much. Isla knew deep down that she would do well to relax, to simply attempt slipping away gracefully... but she was far from a graceful woman when it came to losing. It was something that she would need to work on.

The sickening sound of bone breaking interrupted her cackling, and she gritted her teeth against the pain, biting into her bottom lip. She could taste the blood, and it made her fury grow. But her dominant arm was now weak and useless.

What now? She was at the mercy of this Jedi. Perhaps she would end it all now, or she would leave Isla crippled in the desert.

The sound was there and Orihime gave a small look as she was on the ground and rolled over with some of the ideas she had. "Ouch sorry." She rolled over to the side staying there for a moment when she stood up and was looking at the woman. "Please be okay, I didn't want to hurt you to much. If you surrender I can heal you." She said it while standing there making some space between them while she had her saber at the ready to defend but was squeezing her eyes while force senses extended outwards with her eyes closed. She was trying to get some of the tears out of her eyes with the sand and grit while she rubbed them with her free hand prepared to defend.

Isla felt the Jedi rolling to the side, and did not move from her spot on the sand. As the dark haired woman stood up, Isla sat up slowly, being careful not to move her arm. Her green eyes turned to the Jedi, skeptical of her words. Her left hand still gripped her saber, the hilt shaking in her hand slightly. But after a moment, she deactivated the blade. If this woman wanted to kill her, she would have already done it.

“I don’t need your pity, Jedi.” Isla spat, “Kill me, or leave me.”

Her gaze burned into the dark eyes of the other woman. Isla had fire burning inside of her, but she knew that she had been bested – humiliating and infuriating as it was to admit. Isla grunted as she stood upon her knees, head defiantly held up. If she was to meet death, she would do so with eyes open and unafraid.

Looking at her while she stood there there was a small look on her face of some sadness as she stood there before pulling at the other girls saber with the force. "I am not going to kill you, it isn't the jedi way but I can't leave you injured out here in the desert." She looked at her while before crouching just a little. "Now come on, you don't want to be left out injured in the desert do you? I mean if you do it is cool and all but leaving someone at the possible mercy of the sand people when she can't use her blade is not a very fitting fate." But she dind't really have space on her ship where she could take the girl back with her either.

Isla continued to stare defiantly at the Jedi. “Then, your way is weak.” She said, looking away. The disciple did not necessarily have a death wish, but she did disagree with the ways of the Jedi. She could feel the Jedi pulling at her saber with the force, her left hand attempted to tighten around the hilt, but was no match. And now she sat in the sand, unarmed, and at the mercy of this light-sider.

Her options were few; follow along with the Jedi, or risk death at the hands of the natives. The latter seemed more attractive to Isla, but it would be a rather unsatisfying end, she had to admit.

“Fine.” She said, unable to make eye contact with her opponent, now that they were no longer engaged in battle. “We will go back to Mos Eisley. And then we will separate.”

Her tone seemed to say that she was in charge, but it was all she could do to keep the humiliation at bay.

She looked at the girl and gave a nod of her head when the saber came to her hand and she set it in her pocket securing it away from her saber on her hip as she let the contoured grip remain there. Moving to get the girl up and take her back to the spaceport. "We'll get there and heal you up and then fine if you want you can go but don't be snippy or I am going to discipline you." She said it looking down at her while she moved to pick her up with a bow of her head when she moved so the girl was supported on her shoulder with the broken arm dangling at the side. "If you need water tell me, I also got some food if you want but no knives just a spork." Orihime started walking forward with her attention on some of the things while she was going forward.

Isla’s eyes narrowed dangerously, but she didn’t open her mouth to respond. She had seen this Jedi’s power, and she wasn’t looking to be ‘disciplined’. Now that she was on her feet, her arm felt limp and painful at her side. Isla stepped away from the Jedi, refusing to lean on her for support. Her left arm gently cradled the other, keeping the broken arm immobile against her body. Why was this Jedi so eager to help, that she would even offer up her own supply of food and water? It made little sense to Isla.

“What is your name?” Isla finally spoke as they walked, needing a distraction. Her voice was flat, words that had been forced out for the sake of something else to focus on. Isla did not truly wish to fraternize, she had not come here to make friends.

Orihime looked at her while she was going the way to lead them through, back to a ship for medical treatment... or well she could use her stuff but this girl was not in danger of dying if she didn't get to have a medical cube heal her... and she was being snippy. The padawan didn't have to be cruel about it but she didn't have to rush for life saving medical treatment either. "I am Orihime of the jedi order and come on you don't have to be all grouchy with that frowny face. I am helping you and since you are likely going to return to your master who will punish you for losing to a padawan and then getting helped by them. I would think you would try and enjoy this time before the real pain makes your broken arm seem like a mosquito bite." She said it while looking at a few more things but enjoying the company in the desert. "So I do like your hair it is really pretty even with some fo the sand in it. A souvenir of your time here."

Isla let her head turn slightly as the woman introduced herself as Orihime. Her eye twitched slightly at the Jedi’s response, knowing that she would be punished when she returned home to the Citadel. How foolish she had been. She kept walking, the dark-haired Jedi along her side, and her green eyes now focused on the sandy horizon in front of them. Mos Eisley was just peeking over the edge, slowly becoming visible in the distance, but it would still be quite a walk.

She felt a flicker of a smile tug at the corner of her mouth when Orihime complimented her hair. Isla had always been quite fond of her red hair.

“I will be glad to leave this sand behind.” Isla squinted, shaking the remaining sand from her hair. And she would be happy to leave this world and never return. But she would carry the memory of this day with her, for she would have a mended arm to remember this time by. A reminder of her defeat and the embarrassment she had brought upon herself.

“I am Isla, a disciple of Ren.” She finally offered, her voice slightly softer than before.

A knight of Ren... a Knight of Ren... Orihime looked at her for a moment while walking and offered a small smile with everything. "A knight of Ren, oh I met them before, me and my sister used to run around in one of their buildings when our mother was studying them." SHe said it and thought about it with a small grin on her face remembering for herself. Ah good times and well if thy were still around beside the really old man who had been there as the caretaker of the place then good for them. She offered another large smile while they had the city in the distance. "But now Isla it is time, the jedi in me must do it. It is union rules after all. So come on to make the long trek through the desert fun and interesting as well." She looked at her. "So when did you join the Disciples of Ren?"

Isla could not hide the fact that she was surprised. This Jedi had met the Ren before? This was certainly an interesting development. She continued to walk, still cradling her injured arm against her side to keep it supported, but her posture seemed to relax slightly. The Ren’s shoulders dropped slightly, not feeling the need to remain so tightly wound. But in the back of her mind, she knew that she should not let her guard down so easily.

“I am a recent addition to the Ren.” She nodded, “A Knight came to find me on Skye – my home world.”

She remembered that night fondly, it was the last time that she had set eyes upon any of her family. Isla did not miss them, and had the feeling that they did not miss her. The disciple gathered that Orihime was familiar with First Order space, at least where it was situated in the galaxy.

“And where is it that you call home?”

Orihime looked at her and thought about how to answer that when she was going. "I was born on Aing-Tii with the Aing-Tii. They are good friends with my mother and have taught us a lot about the force and my whole family really." She said it with a small grin on her face while walking and she seemed to be lightening up a little so that wasn't such a bad thing. If anything the two of them were becoming at least cordial enough not to just keep trying to kill each other. "But I lived in the jedi temple on Tython most of my life and now stay wherever i am needed with my ship. Get to explore the galaxy, rescue people, do battle against those who fight for oppression and evil."

“I see,” Isla responded, angling a curious glance over at the Jedi. If this woman sought to battle those that fought for oppression and evil – she wondered why the Jedi had let her live. For there were some that did not understand the goals of the glorious First Order, and would often misinterpret their wishes to make the galaxy better as simple oppression. The views of the Jedi were vastly different from those that Isla held, but she would remain quiet on the topic for now, while the other woman still possessed her saber.

“And you came to this place to explore?” She asked, nodding towards the sandy dunes. Isla had come here to satisfy curiosity and the possibility of finding a saber crystal or two had also been part of her reason for traveling to Tatooine. The city was rising on the horizon, growing closer with each step.

She was looking at her and thinking about all of it, some fo the plans for coming here had been to scout and check on the deep desert facilities that her mother set up to harvest raw material and resources. Other reasons were because there were some interesting creatures on the planet when you got down to it while she was walking. "Well I explore around the galaxy to help out and discover new things, this world has a collection of large worms and dragons compared to others to observe... also get to test out some of the new stuff we have made." She was walking and tapped the robe as it gleamed. "Like this, far more protective then normal robes and makes darksiders in proximity to it feel a little sick. We also developed these talisman's that help tame large beasts, some new things as well like our force signature scouters."

Isla’s eyes shifted to the Jedi’s robes, now that they were not engaged in combat, she had a chance to get a better look. The fabric was unlike anything she had seen before; it shimmered brightly in the light of the twin suns above them. These robes were interesting, and as Orihime explained the properties, she understood why she did not feel comfortable standing next to the Jedi. It was all by design. Isla’s worn tunic and trousers must have looked quite tattered and unimpressive next to Orihime. Perhaps it was time to begin investing in better armor.

“Interesting.” Isla remarked, it seemed that Orihime was more than a simple Jedi. The Ren had had few interactions with such light-siders, and she had to admit that she had been surprised. Though she remained silent for a time, walking at an even pace next to Orihime, she let her expression soften slightly. They were growing close to the city now, and would soon be joining the seedy crowd of Mos Eisley. “When may I have my saber returned?” She asked, trying not to sound too demanding.

Orihime looked at her and offered a small look on her face. "When you learn not to swing it at peoples heads as a way to say "Hello Pretty GIrl"" she was looking at her with a nod of her head while the spaceport came into view with a nod seeing some of the people so she could get a better idea. Her ship was close to the edge of the spaceport at least but she didn't know where the kngiht of ren's was when she was walking in pace with her. "Or you know when we see each other again, hopefully under better circumstances like a picnic or getting to run around on Naboo. Technically I am supposed to make sure you can't use it as a weapon but if you promise not to hurt people with it I think I could give it back to you next time."
