Ambition: Before and after the purge ambition emanated from him for different reasons. Before the
Child of Aristocracy: Although not necessarily of royal blood or noble lines, the Flavian Family hail from the core worlds. Their wealth allowed them to own real estate across many worlds. Because of this no single branch of the family really considered themselves from a single planet. Constantly on the move the relatives were attending to multiple affairs across all their holdings before the purge. For Caius this upbringing instilled a feeling of being above others in terms of social status for most of his early life. The expectation to be someone of importance was drive instilled in the entirety of the family. Their wealth was considered a tool but
Educated (Military and Political Science background): Raised in the core worlds Caius attended several different academies, military schools, and business colleges over the years. Caius has always been drawn to the logistical order of the world and management of resources. This focus so to speak is what brought him in the direction of having to work with others to achieve cooperative goals. In doing so Caius often puts his methodical learning toward diplomacy and politics. However his xenophobic views can make such diplomacy efforts difficult. Still his education is what led to have a great and broad understanding of the social arts.
Exploratory: Caius since he was a child has had a love of discovery. He became fascinated with the exploring the wilds of the galaxy and discovering lost civilizations. As he grew in age and began to comprehend more and more the scale of which the Gulag plague had sundered the maps of old this love of discovery and exploration grew to a passion to find everything. Caius loves to become involved with different human cultures, he shuns contact with xenos cultures but will tolerate it as best as possible to carry out his agendas.
Limited combat experience: Caius has had plenty of training in the arts of naval combat. A few fire fights in in the period of time after the purge.
Xenophobia: Caius is in many ways an old throw back to the early days of the Galactic Empire. His disgust of aliens stems primarily from a traditional perspective rooted from the inherent belief that Humans are a superior race. He is currently tolerate to work with xenos as a means to an end but otherwise strives to remove himself from their presence as quickly as possible. Chiss are the only species he thus far too even consider as equals on the world stage.
Skilled Vibro blade user: Caius’s core world upbringing allowed him to grow up in an environment of courtly affairs and intrigue. He took up swordsmanship while attending a military academy. He has been involved in many duels since and has grown proficient over time.
Marksman: Caius has demonstrated moderate abilities of blaster use, don’t count on him making a call shot. He is qualified enough to be of use in a fire fight and can hold his own.
APPEARANCE: Caius is of an athletic build. There is nothing too remarkable about his features. He is of a slight tan skin. Before the purge he never allowed his hair to grow past military regulations and maintained clean shaven face every day. He maintained a rigid standard of hygiene when in a professional environment. After the purge he still follows this rhythm but when at home or off duty he has learned to relax.
BIOGRAPHY: Caius Flavian was raised to a once prominent family from the Core Worlds. In the last century of the Gulag plague rose quickly in the Core worlds by making ambitious financial investments into numerous organizations the leaned to toward the Imperial Cause. The Flavians did so believing that by assisting the Empire the galaxy could be restored to order and righteous prosperity. The Rise of the Republic drove the Flavians out of the core and into the fringe. Slowly Republic companies and corporations waged a financial war against the Flavians and eventually more direct and brutal methods were used. In a coordinated movement a radical group of Republic loyalists assaulted the many households of the Flavians throughout the core in a coordinated attack. Caius was attending a military academy at the time during his early twenties, when news reached him of the death of so many of his family threw him into a panic and depression. Desperation led him to abandon his studies and find any survivors of his family. His grandmother had survived along with his sister and several relatives who were not at home during the time of the attack. His grandmother Julia Flavian was a sharp and calculating women who was able to rally the remaining family together. Julia declared that “we survived and one day we will get our revenge on this republic, but until then we will have to begin anew. We are Flavians, our strength lies in our ability to grow. Our first step will be to plant a seed, one of hate nurtured to sprout by the blood spilt by our enemies… From that we will grow stronger than the tree from which we fell!” She decided to abandon the core worlds and pulled what remaining wealth together invest into forming an enterprising company with a focus on agriculture.
Caius was greatly inspired by the vision Julia set forth. His sister however did not and left the family to become a bounty hunter and track down those who wronged the family. Caius along with the family set out to find an Imperial benefactor who they could latch onto and aid. They found a cause in the Imperial Remnant.
Because of his family’s status and what they were bringing to the table he was able to gain a commission into the Imperial Navy as a Lieutenant Commander.
SHIP: The Seed of Renewal: is a family owned vessel, not necessarily his personal vessel. He frequently uses one of vessels shuttle craft in matters pertaining to his family's company the Flavian Star Corporation.
