Faction Admin - The Galactic Republic
Caius Flavian’s platform for FO!
Hey everyone so just putting together my thoughts and resume as to why I would like to become FO for the Republic.
First some history and back ground
I’ve had the fortunate experience of being an FA and FO before for the Imperial Remnant and I was a very open minded sand box person. In fact during my time as FO I experienced working in tandem with another start up major faction we all know as the Primeval and had a great time seeking to weave stories with their FO and faction leadership.
Problems I faced back then though was seeking to balance everything of the needs of all the writers along with ensuring that we were developing a cohesive story rather than a mess.
One of the many realizations I had early on in becoming an FA was a running thought that if I became an FO I would have to ensure my own characters were also not the In Character head of the faction as well because if something were to happen a power vacuum would occur both narrative wise and OOC.
It was for that reason when I had to assume the FO position over the Imperial Remnant I kept my characters relatively lower in rank. It was fun because it mean’t that my character was still playdough and could jump in and out a little more freely of things.
While leading the Imperial Remnant I sought to focus on developing the narratives of world building and making story hooks. One of the flaws of big major league factions is that a lot worlds go untouched in terms of developing stories.
One of the biggest lessons learned was working in concert with the Faction Admin team closely on making things happen and not seek to shoulder these things entirely as the burn out can be real.
Lastly I’ve found to become very humbled in terms of working as a collaborative writer with a lot of the mistakes I’ve made as Writer, FA, and FO in the past.
Plans and things to do!
So one of the big things I’m huge about is striving to follow the rules to the benefit of the players or in this case writers!
We are a major faction and there is a growing intricate system between Major Faction x Minor Faction x Companies. This system helps generate a chain which facilitates roleplay on this site.
What I want to encourage is bringing more and more companies to get involved with our dominions, our faction development.
The whole factory system is set up on the reliance for companies to obtain IC contracts with different organizations and Major factions have essentially limitless handwavium of IC credits and thus can help tier growth.
My primary goal is to continue to keep to the theme of the Republic as much as possible. While I’ve played Imperial for the most on here the switch in theme wasn’t hard considering during the rebellion era many prominent leaders of the Rebellion were former Imperials.
I would love to continue to foster the Force Enclave while also allowing other minor force factions a chance to operate within the influence cloud.
Dominions!
I love the tier system! I have a lot of issues with the way the Map game is conducted on this site but the Tier system adds an interesting level of play. Tier 1 Dominions if discussed and stay dedicated to remaining as such for the whole narrative are a great method of encouraging casual writers to remain involved.
Tier 2’s are great for leaving the door open for more!
Tier 3’s are wonderful if done correctly. For instance I love the organically grown dominion method. For instance Denon was amazing and our opposition did a splendid job of writing and weaving that!
While I don’t want to cookie cut every damn Dominion I would love to keep the spirit that [member="Mantic Dorn"] carried with setting a plethora of ‘objectives’ or in GM/DM terminology story hooks and let everyone have fun.
However as I mentioned cookies there are some IC things I would like to encourage rather than enforce. I would like to state here that I found it an awesome development for [member="Ayumi Pallopides"] to become Senator for Denon through simply being part of the dominion but also playing a pivotal role in bringing into the influence cloud. That reward of IC growth is something I would love to continue to cultivate among us writers and as FO that is something I hope to hold aloft.
Because of that I would like to keep things available for everyone to get a chance to be involved but at the same time I want to really keep up the OOC discussion of developing Dominion narratives! That’s pretty much all I will be firm about working with the FA’s to ensure that stories are drawn up for the initial start of the dominion and let it sail away from there!
Invasions!
I have unfortunately had little experience in this field. While I was FO of the Imperial Remnant we did not participate in an Invasion. Not atleast until long after I stepped down as FO.This is not my strong area and I would hope to get some additional FA’s on board who’ve had experience in this field.
OOC and Real Life concerns
- I currently am in a dwell period post deployment so I have a lot of time in my hands.
- I aim to go into massage therapy school in the fall.
- Is not a site admin or part of the Codex or Factory teams on the site so my attention can be fully given over to the Faction's concerns.
- Currently looking for work but as I’ve stated I’m kinda free right now to tackle this responsibility.
- I do have a lot of things that keep me away from the site though simply cause I have so much time.
- What I’ll likely do is focus on a select few characters to write with primarily my writer account and character Caius Flavian will continue to be my main and also where I prefer to receive my notifications rather than jumping through my growing number of alts.
So yup that is my platform… Oh and I’ve already promised that pantless taco Tuesday’s will be a thing so be prepared to look for memes of homer simpson eating tacos and pantless (PG pictures though guys and gals other wise we’ll likely get shut down by the Sector Rangers) best of my luck to the other nominees [member="Jack Sparrow"] [member="Suravi Teigra"] [member="Reshmar"]
