A human "tweenage" youngling, Cai had a mass of jet black hair that was of shoulder length, falling no lower than his shoulder blades. The shape of his eyes marked him as Atrisian or Epicanthix, while his irises were a dark amber color typical of Atrisians. He tended to wear dark colors, predominantly black, with crimson or white accents.

H I S T O R Y

The son of Atrisian refugees from the Sith massacre of Shri-Tal, Cai was enrolled in one of the Imperial Academies loyal to the New Imperial Order. His parents accepted a JROTC scholarship in order for Cai to receive an education. The cost of this bargain was the only foreseeable future for their son was graduating into the Stormtrooper Corps. Part boy scout, part military cadet, Cai's education combined academics with field maneuvers and training exercises that simulated a variety of different warfare scenarios and tactics -- mostly disguised as competitive play for the age group.

Cai inadvertently became involved in actual rescue operations when a training shuttle went down during a cadet field exercise mission. A dropship conducting touch-and-goes had suffered engine failure and tried for a hard landing, only to miss the landing pad and nearly go careening off the side of elevated runway. Working with his fellow cadets and their instructors, Cai managed to aid in the rescue of three of the shuttle's aircrew, before the surrounding support structures collapsed, claiming both the shuttle and most of the rescue team.

Thanks to a rapid response to the scene by the Asklepion, Cai was recovered alive, though his body was badly broken by the incident. In addition to determining that the badly injured youngling was alive, the Imperial Knights assessed that he was also a Force Sensitive. En route to the hospital, he suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead on arrival. As a still viable candidate, the decision was made to try experimental surgery to recover the Force Sensitive cadet. This was more so done for the benefit of the surgeons to test their skills in cybernetics, but had the benefit of bringing Cai back after eighteen minutes of brain death. His left arm and most of the left side of his ribs and sternum were replaced with cybernetic prosthetics. His heart was replaced with an artificial valve, while his lungs and muscles were fitted with Rybcoarse enhancements in order to minimize possible organ rejection and support the mechanical structures holding the left side of his upper body together.

Salvaged from the brink of death, the boy was transferred to the care of Asklepion for rehabilitation and physical therapy. This moved him to the custody of the Crusader Fleet and, gradually, his introduction and indoctrination into the Imperial Force Corps. Paired with a mentor who had experience adjusting to cybernetic augmentation, Cai was assigned as the High Marshal's page.
