STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
+ Cael is very sensitive to the Force itself, and his Force abilities are magnified ten-fold because of it. Meditating almost daily, Cael loves to sense himself through the Force. Furthermore, his talents in the Force are impressive for a Padawan.
+ Cael is wiser then most for his age. Though a Padawan, Cael is known to be logical and very wise. Perhaps due to his instruction in the Force is one of the reasons for his wisdom, but even still, he is a very keen young man. This results in him being much more mature then those around him.
- Cael is not very strong, and his tiny stature and weight can result in him losing most physical fights. If Cael did not have the magnified abilities in the Force, he would not be a very effective fighter.
- In addition to his lower physical abilities, Cael is a rubbish duelist. Preferring to be more diplomatic, Cael only uses his lightsaber when he absolutely has to. His dueling abilities are not up to par with most, and his attacks are clumsy at best.
APPEARANCE:
Pale with blue eyes, Cael is the epitome of someone that reads more then anything. His hair is short and usually quite messy, though he showers often. Clear skin with a pasty ruddiness underneath, Cael is very easy to pick out of a crowd. Furthermore, he is shorter then most, at only 5'5". When clothed in his robes, Cael looks more humorous then anything, as his robes make him look much bigger then actuality.
BIOGRAPHY:
Cael Shepard was born to a young dancer on the streets of Coruscant. Afraid that her pregnancy would ruin her financial situation, which was already in dire straits, Cael's mother dumped him in the nearest orphanage when he was finally born. Why she did not decide to end his life before he could be brought to term is beyond him, but Cael does not focus on this now. After being dumped in the orphanage, Cael grew up bullied and taunted by those bigger then him. However, he never faltered, his courage and determination being a focus as he got older.
Shortly after, Cael would be discovered by a traveling Jedi from the Order itself. Realizing that Cael had immense strength in the Force, the traveling Knight happily took Cael from the dreaded, under-street orphanage. Ironically, Cael was upset that he would be leaving his childhood friends behind, even if the orphanage was quite terrible to live in. His friends encouraged him to leave, and through tears, he left Coruscant for the Jedi Temple.
As an initiate, Cael was always deep into the lore of the Jedi and the Sith. His nose was always in the newest book or the latest ancient text he could find, and the other initiates found him off and peculiar. The local sages of the temple took him in, and trained Cael throughout his young years. Because of their focus on him, he is a very learned individual, and his Force abilities have grown because of this. His focus on the Force has had consequence, as his dueling abilities suffered greatly during these formative years.
Cael was accepted by a Nautolan knight known as Otro Te when it came time for his Padawan teachings. Master Te was very different to Cael, and their personalities constantly clashed. Master Te was more carefree around the local temple, and had a habit of finding humor in the darkest parts of the galaxy. His pairing with Cael would prove disastrous to Cael's ancient text delving. It came apparent to Cael earlier on that the Force paired them together so Cael could finally become a full Jedi. He was already learned enough, and needed to learn more on how to survive as a Jedi.
Though their relationship was strained at one point, Cael and Master Te became fast friends once the tension left. The two became a strong pair, with Master Te's influence opening up Cael more and more. Their diplomatic missions for the Order usually went off with no issues. If any fighting did in fact start, Cael would be backed up by the more martial Master Te. Cael would learn much over this time, with much of his focus being on his dueling and saber use.
Tragedy would strike however, when Master Te was assassinated by a Sith acolyte. This was prior to his Jedi Trials, and Cael faltered fast. Blaming himself and his dueling abilities, Cael was unable to subdue the acolyte, who escaped the assassination. This has deeply hurt Cael's confidence in his saber skills, and because of it, Cael avoids combat. He has thus far been assigned a new master, who hopes to correct his confidence and abilities.
