Strength till the End

The Lightsaber. A weapon as ancient as the Jedi, and as deadly as the Sith. Used by steadfast defenders, and ruthless destroyers alike. A symbol of peace, but also of war. A weapon adopted by many cultures over the eons. An art crafted by many. A legacy crafted by few. Some saw it as a weapon, and nothing more. Others saw it as their greatest companion. Some saw it as both. Some chose to go beyond the basics, and craft masterpieces of destruction. And today, one such individual was sharing his experience.

In a workshop deep within the Citadel, Knights Obsidian, and a trusted few, have gathered to learn the means and methods that one of their own utilized in the creation of this noble weapon. For some, the gathering was purely academic. A forum to discuss greater techniques. For some, it was a chance to craft a blade of their own. For others, it was a chance to make their very first blade. A keepsake to treasure until the end of time. Servant droids were toting boxes of components to and from the workshop, depositing them at a great central table, from which the participants could take to their work stations.

Voph stood near the edge of the room, watching the Knights mill about, and speak among themselves. His lesson would begin soon...

Voph stepped forward into the center of the room, his very presence commanding a hush across the gathered. Some individuals were still shuffling into the room as Voph prepared to speak, causing him to pause for a moment for the last stragglers to find a place. Voph's hands folded at the small of his back, across a simple tunic that stood in stark contrast to the man's traditional robes. His appearance was that of a craftsman at the forge, moreso than the Lord Commander of the Knights Obsidian.
"My brothers. Sisters. Friends from the Confederacy. I want to welcome you all to today's lesson. For some of you, this is a class. An education to further your station as a Squire. For others, a mere refresher course. I speak first and foremost to the benefit of our Squires, as this knowledge is yet unknown to most of them. Now, before we begin, are there any questions?"

Location: Workshop in the Citadel
Equipment: Hunger for Knowledge
Objective: Learn more about Lightsabers

Jason the young and beautiful squire was already sitting in the room. He chose one of the last places at the back of the room. For him, that was good, since then he could watch everybody, and maybe see what they were doing. He just recently heard of this class, that Voph would have here and he instantly decided to go there. His hunger for knowledge led him here. And also because he finally wanted to learn more about lightsabers.

He prepared himself to swallow every single information he could get. Maybe he would even create his own lightsaber today, who knows. As the professor of this class Kyyrk Kyyrk started his class by asking if anyone got a question, Jason quickly raised his hand.

"Yes, I've got one. What can we expect to learn here? Only how to create a lightsaber? Or do we get to see which materials, are the best to use, to craft a lightsaber? Also, are there different kinds of lightsabers?"
You could clearly hear the excitement in Jason's voice, as he asked Voph this question. It was actually a good question. After all, it was important to know, which materials could be used to craft a lightsaber. Some materials were weaker than others. Every material had its strengths and weaknesses, so eventually, everyone had to see what would fit for them. His second question was pretty much out of curiosity.

His dark green eyes, which appeared to be brown or black at the first sight, due to the darkness of the room, sparkled at Voph, awaiting an answer to his questions, to further his knowledge. Someone who would look at Jason's eyes could clearly see, his determination to gain more information. But those weren't the only questions, Jason would ask, but for now, that should be enough, after all, there were others in here too, probably also with a lot of questions, so he kept his other questions hidden for the moment.

CLASS

Equipment: Outfit | Jacket

The lupine had heard of the class and her interest had been peaked. To know how to create a lightsaber would be handy for many situations, even though she herself preferred a side arm or a big gun to blow away her enemies with. However, she also knew that it would be handy to have a lightsaber in case she didn’t have the time to shift while in close quarters. A close quarters weapon would be very handy to have and if she lost one or if one got destroyed, then she’d be up Shavit’s creek. So, it would be handy to have the skills necessary to build one of her own. This skill seemed like a valuable skill to have and if it was useful? She wanted it and she’d get it no matter how long it took to master the skill. Determination was part of who she was, although some people would call it stubbornness.

Aadya slipped in through the door as Voph began to speak, a man whom she had learned, was called the Lord Commander and her arms lifted only to cross over her chest. Quietly, she listened to the man speak while pale blue eyes appraised the man and his choice of outfit, that was a simple tunic in nature. She herself had chosen to wear a simple red dress with some skin tight short short underneath. This was all paired off with black leather knee high boots and a plain black jacket. Sure she showed off maybe a little too much pale skin, but it was comfortable for her. It allowed the woman freedom of movement, even if she did get a few disapproving looks from a couple of onlookers. now if she hadn't been wearing a jacket, who knew how many more disapproving looks she'd get. Oh well.

A shiver traveled down her spine at the very thought and her arms uncrossed so then a hand could slide into a pocket of her jacket and fish out a small rainbow lollipop. The woman surely listened to the Commander as he spoke, but her gaze had shifted to the task at hand. Both hands now proceeded to unravel the wrapper from the lollipop and upon successful completion, she pocketed the wrapper to throw away at a later date; because littering was bad and the lupine slipped the lollipop into her mouth.

She closed her eyes and she tipped her head back in quiet pleasure as the sugary taste exploded along her tongue. The woman would have moaned with the deliciousness had she not been in a class with other people, so she kept the secret pleasure to herself. With the initial burst of sweetness, her eyes opened and her head leveled once more to view those who were talking. It was now some other student talking, the one who was sitting; which was the opposite to Aadya, she preferred to stand for she just wouldn’t be able to sit still for long enough. Pale blue eyes took in the man who seemed rather eager to rattle off question after question and she was reminded of an eager beaver.

An eager beaver that wanted to sit at the back of the room? Wouldn’t it be more suitable to sit in the front so then not to miss anything due to being almost shrouded by the edges of the darkness given off by the room’s walls? Her gaze shifted back to the Lord Commander then to see his response. For the Eager Beaver, whose name she did not know, had basically asked for a basic rundown of the entire class. He reminded her of someone who would definitely read the contents page of a book, before continuing to read the actual content within. Would he skip the chapters that he didn’t want to know about? Or read them anyway to gain a refresher course?

The lupine remained quiet and ever so watchful, so then not to miss the response to the Eager Beaver.

Why: To Craft his own Lightsaber

As Aurelion cradled the precious crystal in his hands, feeling it's eager violet pulse, the glow to it's presence in the Force he could only shuffle awkwardly from foot to foot as the class was introduced to their instructor. An... imposing individual of Im-Voph-ible presence and a sense of certainty to themselves Aurelion could only stare at. He had heard of this class while traveling through CIS space to the next Star Map the coordinates gathered on Kashyyyk had pointed him to and considered actually learning to construct his Lightsaber to be something that would be... well... invaluable for such a task.

Shuffling into some sort of position among the workshop of a Lightsaber builder's wet dream Aurelion waddled up beside one Lupine awkwardly. Not quite standing next to her but well close enough to be.... concerned when she put something in her mouth and looked like she was quickly approaching Cloud 9 due to... whatever it was she was sucking on. Aurelion could only blink his equally soft blue eye at this and, turning back to listen to Jason's question, drifted his eye idly down to the wide variety and assortment of parts, components and pieces arrayed before him.

Aurelion was equally curious about the questions Jason asked and was more than a little thankful he had chosen to ask them instead of himself. His singular, blue eye turning to Voph, then back down to the components before him. His singular eye flitting amongst the pieces as he found himself already touching and studying them, finding it incredibly surprising when, before his mind's eye, the pieces began to slide together effortlessly in conjunction with one-another. He was understandably even MORE surprised when they seemed to actually respond to him in more ways than one. As Aurelion set the violet crystal down on the workbench, his presence in the Force flowing through both the crystal and pieces at his touch.... his breathe was taken away by just how... NATURAL this felt to him. His eye blinking rapidly as his mind began to buzz with potential combinations and constructions of the various pieces arrayed before him. Some of the pieces appearing to have some sort of... glass-like sheen over them?

As Aurelion touched these certain pieces that glass-like coverings cracked, altered and warped around his touch, tremors through the Force arcing through him as he touched certain pieces. Making his arm shake in revulsion of the sensation with some of the pieces, while others flowed eagerly and accepting around him. The echoes in the Force they left feeling much more.... right? Correct? He had never felt anything in the Force to feel 'correct' before........

Rann sat alone, patiently waiting for this class to start. He had arrived earlier than most, eager to replace the lightsaber lost on Ryloth with one that was actually created both by and, more importantly, for Rann. He had his hands together with fingers interlocked at his mouth and elbows placed on the table, staring directly at Voph. He was ready for this class and had hoped it would just start.

He couldn't help but be reminded of the Lightsaber he had lost. A relic of a bygone era, found in the ruins of an old Jedi Temple on some forgotten World Rann couldn't recall anymore. Rann remembered how the Lightsaber called to him, a reward for his braving the trials of the Temple. It was barely functional, batteries dead, lenses cracked and more. Thanks to Ar'ekk, Rann fixed the Lightsaber, revealing the Crimson blade within. Unfortunately, Rann left Ar'ekk before the he could help Rann make modifications to the Hilt. With the repairs Rann had done, the Lightsaber looked patchwork. It was functional, and Rann was quite fond of it, but it never quite fit his hand. It was unwieldy to use and uncomfortable to handle. Rann believed that this was because it wasn't made for him. It was some old forgotten Darksiders lightsaber from who knows how long ago. But it's storied legacy, one Rann could never know, ended thanks to a suicide bomber during a parade.

Just like his arm, a replacement was needed. It was definitely time for an upgrade. A Lightsaber he created for himself, one that fit his hand that connected with his personality. One Rann could use to dance circles around his enemies with. That's what he was here for. This meant a lot to him. For others, they'd be getting their first Lightsaber today. A very momentous occasion. But for Rann, this was creating his own. He had used one that wasn't really his before, and knew what it was like to handle somebody elses creation. Now he'd make his own. It's a struggle some of these students would rightfully and wisely skip.

He listened with interest to Voph's words, and the question from some man Rann hadn't yet met. Rann, too, was curious about the details of this class. And would prefer to keep quiet, so he quietly thanked the mans for his question, and likewise awaited an answer from Voph.

OBJECTIVE - Pack up and Go

Where: Elsewhere (To Ruusan, specifically)
Why: Thread Abandoned
Wearing/Wielding: Robes
When: Now
With: N/A

As the class seemed to disperse and each member of it's tutelage went on their merry way to their own activities Aurelion found himself surprised as the serious air of the class seemed to disperse. The movements and motions of those present going from 'instructed' to something closer to 'meandering' as the tension drained from the air. Aurelion's attention, however, remained firmly on the pieces he had gathered unto himself. These pieces that seemed to sing to him through the Force, to resonate with him without causing him pain, he calmly collected for his own use.

While Aurelion was not entirely sure how to construct a blade the class seemed to slow it's paces enough that he was willing to try on his own. At least, he thought to himself, he was willing to ask someone he trusted after he was on his way. Collecting thee pieces, and the crystal he had found on Dantooine, Aurelion calmly made his way from the classroom. Intent on finally crafting a blade to call his own. Even now, as his eye closed and each footfall carried him further and further from this place, he could see each and every piece click into place. Each footfall heralding a correct turn, a proper connection, a new piece activating and through it all.... he smiled. It felt good to have something come naturally for once.....
