First Reply But first, food.

Kaia smiled. It felt good to get away. She was grateful for her father, and uncle to allow her the chance to spread her wings again. Yes, she did a bit of an odyssey for a year before making her way back to the family business. Not the family war business, no. That was her father's alone. This was her in the true family business. Resource gathering and hyperspace trailblazing. Like her friend Mara, Kaia enjoyed it but she was more than happy to get away from it again. So much so that she had docked her Pulsar freighter on the Dawn Chaser and sent the past few months doing a rebuild of an old Starbird shuttle.

Still, old for a Starchaser was not necessarily a bad thing. It was in decent shape and when she had finished ripping out the offensive systems and replaced them with a low level amount, of forward facing blasters and a double cannon rotating turret, she felt better. Shields and engines and countermeasures were up next.

Many a good hours of time spent tweaking the power supply, and she still didn't have it right. According to her father it was too many things in a small container. But he was the architect behind the original ship. She even ripped out the old simulated intelligence so that she and her probot Drifter could get to work on the piloting.

All it had needed was its initial test.

And that test had taken her out towards Ession, an industrial world that she was using as a hop off to get further out into Wild Space. Her brother may have done a lot of time with the Outer Rim Coalition, but Kaia was much more the speed of the not-being-in-a-government and finding her own path. The Zenith now painted a navy blue with bloodsteel designs had touched down on one of the stations outside of Ession.

Not a shadow port, this was a primary station and somewhere she could get fuel, and cat food. Her Corellian sand cat named Stripe was in her ship and she was going to need a bit more food. The dark haired Mirialan locked her ship and made her way to the market, looking for a bite to eat. Filled with her newfound freedom, the hunt for a world of myth, and her father's promise that there was treasure out there.

The pathways of the station were in view and the small cloaked Togruta walked among them. her eyes shifting and watching everything around her... this was in the war journal she had found in the temple of Voss. Zak Dymo had been here once upon a time, he had walked these paths and smelled these... smells..... oh god it was disgusting. She didn't not make a face of disgust but she was moving around the region now trying to add to the journal and also right the wrongs of the adults in the galaxy.... also it was important to liberate the children. She moved towards one of the doorways and opening it up. Slipping inside and around the large bouncer as she looked at the different people roaming around.

She walked through the crowd going towards the counter and she was still small compared to the rest her montrals giving her more height as she jumped onto the seat and looked at the red eyed chiss behind the bar. Her head tilted up a little for a moment. "Milk..... blue." There was a raised eyebrow and snickers from someone next.... "With chocolate in it." She said it and he was looking at her while the music was loud and drowned out much but the chiss continued to look at her. "A little young to be here kid why don't you go home." She looked at him and put her hand on the counter. "In a clean glass." She said it and narrowed her eyes watching him for a moment she had stared down a miraluka and won.

She had tamed a great beast in the form of the Kiriko... she was stronk. THe chiss would not win. "Kid I am not going to ask you again.. I am just going to have my friends drag you out." She could sense them coming as the music cut out... someone grabbed her arm a large twi'lek and lifted her as she looked at him. THan she was getting dragged out of the bar and onto the street as they stared them down but they closed the door. She would have to continue her journey across the station... find injustices. This place was the best place to test out her skills.

Van life… or ship life really wasn't all that bad. Smugglers of old did it. Jedi did it. Living off the grid was a bit of a nice change from being in charge of one of the Starchaser Enterprises half of a dozen resource gathering vessels. She missed the time of her Odyssey, when she was a younger girl and trying to find herself in the Force and the galaxy. She knew a bit more now of what and who she wanted to be. Looking as she stepped towards the market, she was smelling the spacer food.

Kaia stepped into the restaurant that had a decent smell coming from it. She had sworn off from the Force a little bit. At least in the way her father used it, but now? Now she knew it was going to be part of her survival, and part of attaining her goal. What she hadn't expected was the Togruta being accosted.

"Oh! Are you alright?" Kaia hurried to the Togruta's side and knelt down. The station was not the warmest of environments to be making friends like this. Well, more for the Togruta than her.

She felt someone approaching and looked up into the face.... and what she saw. ":Oh my goodness citizen you are green and sick. We need to get you to a doctor." Akela bolted upright as she looked at the people around herself and then at Kaia. "Worry not, I am a trained jedi... we need to find you medical attention and maybe a sick bag. How could they leave it so unsanitary that people are green in the gills from plague." She was looking at ehr though and realized that she wasn't sick... she was just Mirialian.... hmmm she could play this one of two ways. Either acknowledge her mistake and apoligize or brush it off and move on... mistakes happened all the time. "SOrry Citizen, I almost lost my cool there." She stood there and gave a pose as her hands were on her hips. "I am Akela and I am fine, they just didn't like I asked for a clean glass."

Sick? Her? Right. Green. For humans that was sick, but for Mirialan? Just a standard tone. The dark haired Warden smiled softly as she shook head. But the Togruta before her was… well, a Togruta, and Kaia was pretty certain a bit younger than her. She took a beat before immediately stating that no, she was fine, and wanted to see how this was going to turn out.

The younger being was definitely thrown to the side.

"You're fine? I'm fine… They didn't like that you asked for a clean glass?" She took a second to look around.

"What brought you way out here? Jedi business?" That was an honest question as she made a motion for Akela to come with her. She had a destination for food. Granted she was hoping to hear more about the rumors coming out of void. Specifically a certain Jedi world she was looking for.

"I don't think they liked me questioning the hygenic nature of their establishment. It isn't like I asked for much or maybe they have to go and get the milk from a source." She nodded looking at the woman and debated talking with her about jedi business not because she was worried about secrets but because jedi business was a great many things that were happening across the galaxy... mysterious things... cool things. "And yes, I am here following the journal of a great jedi who led the padawan rebellions against the masters and who has overseen our liberation from naptime... but now he is lost and there is only one place he could be... some mysterious world in the unknown regions of the galaxy."

"Sometimes spacers, especially stationers are very particular about what they have. They know its not the best but its what they have…" Kaia offered a shrug on that. She'd been a Warden of the Sky for a long time, flown around the Outer Rim and knew that there were more than a few people out here who didn't want others stepping around in their stuff. She had her lightsaber, sure, but that was hidden.

The Light Whip? That was something most didn't mess with and didn't link her to any one real Force tradition. So she could easily blend in with the galaxy.

With everything going on, Kaia did not expect what the Togruta was just saying. "How old are you… don't think I remember the Padawan Rebellions…" She took a second as they waked down the halls to a place that had some decent noodles and meat-substitute food. Allowing Akela to join her she looked at the kid.

"Are you a Jedi?" This came in a faux-soft voice.

"I am, Akela of Ru. Survivor of Zak Dymo Zak Dymo padawan rebellion and opponent of all things naptime related that the adults make us do." She said it looking at her and standing there gave her best peter pan pose with her hands clenched into fists, at the sides of her hips. SLightly twist to her body so she had one foot in front of the other and head just a little to the side. "And the padawan rebellions were an uprising across the galaxy... but very hush hush. We threw off the yokes of the adults... took back the kitchens and the sweet treats. We were there at the Ruusan temple to liberate the sleepers and make it so they never had to go into self imposed naptime ever again."

Naptime and adult related… That was not good. Not good for this child to be out here on a space station. Between worlds, and who knew if she could even fly. Sure, she and her brother knew how to fly almost as soon as they could walk, and she was playing in a trainer TIE fighter before she was Akela's apparent age (with room for error between the species).

"And is part of the rebellion being lost on a space station?"

She looked at the woman and narrowed her eyes. "A jedi is never lost... they arrive where they are meant to when they are meant to not before and not late." She nodded her head though and looked at Kaia. "NOw come on, there is injustices in the galaxy and you can be my sidekick as we solve the problems and save the day." She was prepared and ready for it. "First thing is to get that man.. if he doesn't want to use a clean glass then he is endangering the people with unclean cups... that is a sanitary crime."

Kaia couldn't really believe what she was seeing. This little Jedi was out here? But at least, according to this naptime terror, they were lost. She wasn't lost. Maybe she wasn't. But Kaia didn't think she got here on purpose. "Where did you come from?" Was her response to the never-lost statement. If she knew what part of the Jedi Order she was in, maybe that could help.

"Injustice? Aren't you more interested in finding the secrets of why naptime was instituted…" Sidekick? "Master Nap Hater?" Oh, it seemed they were off to play health inspector. "You know, some adults prefer the dingy glasses…"

"I came from the world down under, where the women glow and sith try and plunder." SHe nodded her head to that. "Lets make sure this guy speaks our language or you can give him a knuckle sandwich." She said it for the idea that he might or others might want dingy and dirty glasses... that was weird.... but she did have a point there was a lot to naptimes and learnign the secret to why they had been created was a noble goal.. maybe this adult knew a thing about a thing... or maybe they were trying to lure her into a trap... no greater enemy then one who wanted to stop you from uncovering the truth. "YOu have a good point we should investigate and find the secret history of why the time of nap was created. It could be a galactic wide conspiracy."

Shaking her head, the Mirialan couldn’t really believe what she was seeing. Helping a young Jedi, or even Jedi wannabe, though the Force was strong in Akela, was something she could do. The Warden was more than happy to take Akela where she wanted to go, but wasn’t about to start some war against a barkeep. Maybe help teach the Togruta how to survive a dirty glass. Or maybe teach all about nap times.

Kaia had her ship, and was on her own rules. When she was in the Jedi Covenant with some of the other Jedi padawans, she fought against naps. But now? She’d take a nap between painting the inside of her ship and playing some music.

Girl had to have hobbies.

“It may be! Do you have a destination in mind?”

"We should go to the heart of the issue, no beating around the bush." She nodded her head as she thought about it. "This far out there is Batuu and the galaxies edge. It is supposed to be famous and they might have answers or they are supposed to have really good food." She was nodding and started to march off with purpose. "COme on citizen we have a mission now and there is a chance to unravel a galactic conspiracy... this will go much better then Shili... there isn't an old sith perv trying to make the padawans his brides." THat had been a strange mission indeed but she had managed to survive.. Asonia had done her thing and it was hard to check up on someone who ran off and planned to leave the order cause a sith lord trying to kill her pulled her out of a fire only to stab her in the chest.

Heart of the issue, of the naps?

And Batuu… That was a wonderful place to tackle. Kaia couldn’t really resist that. The travelers on that world tended to come from all over. The Mirialan figured she’d be able to grab some information there, tuck Akela in for a nap with a friendly spacer, and get moving.

“Batuu isn’t a bad idea. I’ve got a ship.”
As Akela lead on, she watched. “This way.” She nodded behind her. “But we need food first.”

"THen we have our heading... we can get road snacks and sing songs." She was nodding her head with a look on her face though as she started off towards the bar and a chance to get the food.. they were going to need it.. more importantly they were going to need other road trip supplies including unhealthy sticks of grease and meat that is packed into a shape rather then just there. She was looking towards the bar and would be able to get over there now as she looked at the bouncer and cocked her head to the side to indicate the mirialian. "She is with me... we're back to chew bubblegum and kick bootah... and we're all out of bubblegum... cause we don't have the credits to buy more."

Road snacks…. Songs… Well, Kaia was good at least for one of those. The dark haired Mirialan smiled. She had done her Odyssey around the galaxy probably when she was Akela’s age. Now she was once again free from running the company, having set up the right people in the right places, and her father having retired to a more calm life of Temple life and sorting Explorers, allowed her to take a more favored hand with her own life.

One that was typical of all Starchasers.

Wanderlust.

As she followed the Jedi Tot into the bar. “We’re not here to kick anything.” She rolled her eyes. “Looking to get some supplies, a few days hyperjump ahead of us.”

She looked at her. "Fine... no butt kicking but totally going to load up on sugar and unhealthy snacks." SHe nodded her head and looking at the man as they were allowed to go in she was prepared for anything that might be a dangerous problem.. Akela was moviong around it though and she at least =had an ally now who could help with the protecting of the people... maybe. She approached the bar and looked over the counter at the guy. "So we meet again, for the first time for the last time... hmmm." She said it and was nodding as the bartender looked at her with a raised eyebrow and then she was speaking more. "We need supplies for a trip, something to jam sensors... raspberry preferably, snack cakes and meat sticks... as well as plenty of travel holotunes."

Kaia laughed and nodded. “No, we’re not here to start fights. But sure… junk food.” It would be a good bit of a splurge over her dehydrated proteins and wheats. Kaia couldn’t help but actually look forward to a bit of sugar and sweet. Maybe even some fresh fruits for the trip.

When Akela stepped forward, the Mirialan Warden followed and nodded. Allowing the Togruta to keep talking but when she finished, Kaia assed a datacard and credit chip forward. Bushel of apples. Fresh nerf meat. Sugar, wheat, cocoa. Melooruns.

“Plus what she said.” Nodding.

The barkeep looked at Akela, then at Kaia, then back to Akela and grumbled as he headed off.

“So you’re not part of the New Jedi out of Coruscant, right?”

She looked at the man go off and nodded. "Yeah... I don't even know where that is." She nodded her head and was sure of many things but most improtantly was... she was a jedi there was always a new order if the history classes showed it and usually forming from disagreements or someone wanting to be in charge and they were not given the title of leader. Akela didn't have time for that.. she had serious business... or something of a plan. THey had to investigate and stop naptimes... They had to figure out the connection and why big veggies was always trying to push themselves onto children. She looked as the man was coming back with that supplies that they were going to get and she nodded. "Thank you for the assistance citizen. We shall endeavor to put these to good use."
