Sicarius tapped on her screen as she tied to study the results of her latest experiment. Sicarius had found reference to the Sith Mutants in her and her Masters recent mission to an Ancient Sith Lords Tomb. Although they had had some difficulties the raid had proved fruitful. The Sith Lord had been attempting to use the Rhakghoul plague as a basis. Only using a different method of infection.
Sicarius was studying the effect of parasites on organisms. The theory being that certain parasitical biological organisms had the ability to dramatically change another species biological and physological into transitioning into another species all together.
The research itself was fascinating, but so far she had yet to find a practical application, specifically a combat application. Sicarius had heard of such applications of biological organisms being used as armor as Darth Bane and Darth Krayt had done to prolonge their own lives.
Initial tests had been encouraging the subjects she had infected had transformed into numerous types of insectoid mutants. The process was simple, the parasite infected the host using the hosts body as an incubator before unleashing an insectoid mutant bursting through their stomach.
So far though the mutants had been resistant to commands even through the Force. If Sicarius attempted either friendship, fear or submission of their wills the insectoids would thrash against their cages to the point of killing themselves.
What Sicarius really needed was alive field test to see how the insectoid mutants behaved in an enclosed environment from which she could monitor them closely. Unfortunately she had run out of live subjects and even if she hadn't she didn't have an enclosed environment from which she could do a controlled test in.
It was frustrating to have made such a scientific achievement using Sith Alchemy but not having the resources needed to amplify and extend the experiment properly. The problem was that even if the fledgling Sith Order had the resources to spare, Sicarius couldn't trust them not to steal the research for themselves.
Sicarius growled in frustration as she knew where and how she could get such resources quite easily if it wasn't for the fact that resorting to it made her skin crawl. The slimelord Gurla the Hutt. The only thing Sicarius wanted more than killing the slimelord was her research into Sith Alchemy and Mutants. Even then it was a close call.
Sicarius scowled and pressed her intercom.
"Master" Sicarius said with a grimace "I think we need to contact that slemo-"
"AAAAAUUUGH!"
Sicarius was interrupted by her subjects screaming in pain. Sicarius frowned in annoyance and examined the subject whose skin seemed to be bulging throughout its body more than the usual one that had burst out of their intestines.
"Hang on Master" Sicarius made sure the recording was on "Fascinating. Subject 12 appears to have more than one insectoid harvesting in it's organs, perhaps the introduction of Geonosion genetics has prompted a hive strain on the usual parasite."
Sicarius was so busy being fascinated she was watching closely when a thousand individual bugs burst from all over the skin.
"Master! We might have a problem!"
