Description:
The BTL-Q9 was Koensayr’s attempt at a small fast attack interceptor. The vessel was designed to be compact and small, which resulted in the creation of the tiny frame known as the Quickdraw. The completed design of the craft, however, was something less than desired. Often criticized as under-armed, with armor and shields too thin to survive heavy fire and a chassis too slow to avoid it properly, the fighter has found itself labeled as a second rate craft. The vessel is armed with two laser cannons and a rear mounted, droid controlled auto turret. The auto turret design was made to preventing trailing fire from taking down the craft and is often called the craft’s only redeeming feature. Pilots who have flown the craft will vouch for its reliability of construction and well-thought-out engineering. Indeed, the craft requires fewer maintenance checks and repairs than nearly any Republic craft, making it a reluctant mainstay in the Republic armed forces.
