OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To create a unit that delves into the Berserker lore of the Bryn'adûl.
  • Role: Tough tank enemies.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Provided Throughout

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Ravagers
  • Affiliation: The Bryn'adûl | The Brutes
  • Classification: Shock Trooper
  • Equipment: Tail, teeth and fists.
  • Description: Standing at nearly five metres in height, these massive Draelvasier are Baedurin Brutes who have joined the Berserker Tribe. They use potions to activate dormant mutations, doubling their mass into massive, six ton weight beasts. Their plated skin marvels that of a heavily fortified tank or walker. Their strength is tripled, and thusly their speed and ferocity is increased. They are boundless, animalistic creatures that lose themselves in the lust for pure brutality.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Combat Function: The hint is in the name, they Ravage. The Ravager is not specifically anti-infantry or vehicular. It simply destroys. The Ravager can crack open a walkers outer hull like an egg given enough focus and time. Killing most humanoids in a single punch, turning their bones into brittle ash and organs into mush oozing from the cracks left in fickle skin. They are the beast within every Draelvasier unleashed in its entirety.
Strengths:
  • Monster Unleashed: The already substantially superior strength and fortitude of a Brute is increased exponentially, they are an unstoppable force of pure brutality. Their Baedurin strength is tripled, and thus so their increased speed grants them impressive leaps of many metres, able to simple cave in walls by catapulting themselves. Ravagers have no equal in terms of infantry strength, able to turn a normal man into nothing more than a busted bag of meat with a single strike. Their hide allows them to endure anything the toughest land vehicle could.
  • Keep Going: The very nature of the Ravager is that they go berserk, they kill all in their path and can only be reigned in by those of superior strength. They go on, regardless of wounds or odds - they thirst for the kill. Even if it will be their last.
Weaknesses:
  • Keep Going: If a Bryn'adûl soldier gets in their way, they're as much an enemy as any other hostile on the battlefield. Ravager's when used create unique tactical problems as other units have to avoid these Brutes almost entirely or have a Shaman or the Chieftain himself at hand or any other formidable Commander capable of reigning them in.
  • Beast of No Man: All the tactical reasoning, position and whatnot beyond animal instinct and the very base of training escape a Ravager in their blood rage. Their thirst consumes them in their entirety. They can be tricked or avoided by those who have exceptional use of the terrain.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
The Berserkers are a set apart from most Draelvasier. They indulge themselves in a love of nature and its violence that is rivalled by few among the Bryn'adûl that do not become Berserkers themselves. They spend their leisure time writing tales of yore, poetry and mantra's on the Chieftain's Doctrine and how their experiences titillate the senses, and endorse a greater strength beyond what is possible within the constraints of the Draelvasier semblance of reasoned thought.

The Berserkers are primarily endorsed by the Baedurin as they make up by majority the rank and file and leadership of the Berserkers. Some of which, who have a greater talent for both tactical combat and beast-like ferocity now make up the Brute specialisation known as the Ravagers. A recently new division, finally fully realised by the hard work of those among the Brutes who brought about the sense of worth now imparted upon the research required for greater mutagens and alchemy.

Thusly allowing Ravagers to be more common than ever before.
