The Brotherhood of Darkness
The Outer Rim is ripe for conquest. The stabilizing might of the Confederacy of Independent Systems has fallen, throwing the region into Chaos. Factions vie for control in the newly created wild space of the Outer Rim, each seeking to put their mark on the galactic stage. Emerging from the shadows, the Brotherhood of Darkness has thrown their might into this contest of nations.
Taking its name from the ancient organization that nearly conquered the galaxy, the new Brotherhood of Darkness was formed from the union of the several Dark Side Force User groups dedicated to a similar goal, conquest, and war in the name of the Shadow, their interpretation of the Dark Side of the Force and their deity.
Mustering their strength in the Outer Rim, the Brotherhood of Darkness has begun to mobilize for a war unlike the Outer Rim has seen in decades. Dark Siders, cultists, pirates, and all manner of characters shunned by galactic society have coalesced around the Brotherhood of Darkness and its enigmatic leader, Kyrel Ren.
In Shadow Clad, the Brotherhood of Darkness readies itself for the wars to come, calling all those to its banner that would serve the Dark Side.
Elements of the Brotherhood of Darkness
Knights of Ren: The Knights of Ren are an ancient and storied force of Dark Siders. Their true origin is unknown even to themselves, but what records remain of their centuries-old heritage tell of a legacy bathed in blood and ash. First in the Unknown Regions, and then the greater galaxy, the Knights of Ren cut a bloody swath across scores of planets in the name of the Shadow, their personal interpretation of the Dark Side of the Force. Led by Kyrel Ren, the Knights of Ren make up the front-line warriors of the Brotherhood of Darkness, and the overall leaders of the union.
Order of Saithon: The Order of Saithon traces its origins back to Saithon Ren, the founder of the beliefs the organization follows, though not the founder of the Order itself. Where the Knights of Ren focused solely on the martial aspects of the Dark Side of the Force, Saithon Ren looked deeper into the philosophical nature of the force. It is from Saithon that the Shadow became a deity to Knights of Ren, and later the Order of Saithon itself. Saithon was killed by his Knights of Ren brothers, but the Order would eventually grow from his disciples centuries later. Specializing in the mechanical mystery, the Order of Saithon seeks to honor and worship the Shadow through the creation of weapons of war and great alchemic discoveries.
The Eternal Shadow: The Eternal Shadow is the recognized religion of the Brotherhood of Darkness. Overseen and spread by the Children of the Eternal Shadow, the Eternal Shadow religion sits at the heart of the Brotherhood of Darkness and its drive as it prepares for war on a grand scale. Used to unify and motivate the cultist legions loyal to the Brotherhood of Darkness, the Eternal Shadow has begun to spread its tendrils across the Outer Rim, led by the Prophet of Shadows.
Scions of the Truth: Established by Zephyr Carpathia, the Scions seek to take the ancient writings and teachings that were scarcely preserved by the Kissai priests and Sorcerers of Tund, attempting to reinvent them into something greater. The organization prides itself on being the closest to the teachings of Typhojem, the Left-Handed God. They claim to be able to contact, commune with, and enact the will of the Dark god. The Scions adhere to the Brotherhood of Darkness' belief in the Eternal Shadow, though they know that the true nature of it is that of the Father of Shadows. Through honing their bodies, minds, and spirits through mysticism and the Force, the Scions seek to find and preserve what is pure and sacred.
Brotherhood Military: The Brotherhood Military is the largest gathering of force within the Brotherhood of Darkness. The Brotherhood Military encompasses the land and naval forces dedicated to the Shadows cause. Crazed cultists, honor-bound officers, and every aspect in between can be found within the Brotherhood Military, and this variety of talents and backgrounds lends them an air of unpredictability that they take into every battle against the enemies of the Brotherhood of Darkness.
The Brotherhood of Darkness Grows
The Brotherhood of Darkness is open to anyone or any group that has Dark Side inclinations or wants to create a character or group idea that could fit into the overall dark and evil aspect. If you have an idea for a character, have one already that might be interested in joining, or are just curious about things, do not hesitate to ask down below or message me directly!
The Brotherhood of Darkness and the faction it will create are an attempt by me and Kyrel Ren to create a Dark Side faction that does not focus, or partake heavily in, the Sith. Sith are welcome to join, but the primary focus of the Brotherhood of Darkness is to highlight and promote the wide range of Dark Side groups and characters that sometimes fall into the cracks when it comes down to the age-old struggle of Jedi vs Sith.
