Irys Arist'lar
Character
Irys' shuttle dropped out of hyperspace suddenly. The bright cerulean streaks replaced by the image of Hypori. The shipyards had changed since she had last been here. Even now construction ships and equipment were being pulled back from the orbital stations. They were now even grander than what surrounded Bothawui, and nearly as extensive as Druckenwell.
It was embarrassing for a Captain to arrive in a shuttle, but after Vergesso the Majesty was in for refits. Slowly they approached the shipyards. The control console pinging and whining with the amount of electronic noise being pointed in their direction. The IFF identified them and they continued to a particular section of the shipyards.
She sucked in a breath as she saw it. There it was, the Jupitus
It was still surrounded by framework and droids and shuttles surrounded it like a swarm of bees. But her trained eye new better. The superstructure was complete, all weapons systems had been mounted. They were just doing the finishing touches now. Crew quarters were being outfitted, a thousand desktop terminals were being tested, every little item from sonic showers to ovens were being finished up. And her personal quarters, of course.
Soon there would be a meeting to discuss progress, to find out if the power grid improvements had gone well. There would be briefings with her new crew and simulation training (they already had a headstart in that regard, she had been grounded just a few weeks ago). But in just a month or so she would be ready to fly.
