DESCRIPTION
Brightstar Entertainment Group began as a single cruise ship on the gambling circuit bought by Marek Starchaser. The Company itself was a vanity project designed to fuel the licentious leanings of its founder. The company fed on the vices of others and was a non to subtle cover for various illicit activities of its owner. Marek began a campaign to increase the companies reach creating small gambling dens that he called casinos on various rim worlds. Wherever there was a smuggling den or dingy settlement there was a 'casino' run by the outsider Starchaser. Using these operations to fuel a larger plan he expanded, full sized casinos were added to his roster of assets and additional cruise liners were added into the mix ferrying wealthy patrons across the galaxy in luxury with all the amenities one might expect.

In furtherance of his companies ideals, and perhaps speaking to the morale turpitude of the companies owner, they began to record holofilms. First these films were lewd 'romances' but later developed into dramas and other more legitimate forms of artistic expression. It was late in the companies history that they ventured into News programming, infotainment centered around Lianna spouting propaganda that benefited Marek and his business enterprises. The information presented was technically correct but with a spin that favored certain parties skirting LIanna's local broadcasting laws. In continuance with their expansion into the entertainment market the company hired several game developers to begin work on interactive dramas which in turn turned into a full on virtual entertainment and gaming division. Several moderately successful titles were created but a focus shifted to gaming and simulation machines that could be maintained at various Brightstar facilities.

The company saw steady profits for several years before a series of incidents began to befall Mareks extralegal operations....

Damian Starchaser, genetically modified clone of the founder Marek, took an interest in his templates company. From a young age he vandalized seedy properties and robbed the illegal money from the coffers of Mareks Cruise liners giving money to various non profit organizations. It was on one of these little missions that he was discovered and later taken in by the Jedi. The money The credits from his last job, plus Marek dolling out a fee to make Damian stop his escapades, went to creating a small Fashion company. Marek would come to regret this decision.

As the years past Brightstar continued in their path, and Chase Fashion grew as well. Damian used the profits he gained to begin subverting Marek's company in financial ways instead of the physical. Buying up assets and driving up bids Damian waged economic war on the criminal corporation chewing away at its assets and forcing the company to liquidate some of their assets. This economic warfare culminated in the takeover of Brightstar Entertainment Group by Damian Starchaser.

First order of business for the new CEO and owner was to liquidate some of the seedier gambling halls set up around smuggler dens, and eliminate unsavory elements from the corporation. From there he re-branded the infotainment network and change its lineup into a more neutral news program. With a fresh influx of capital people were expecting more casinos but instead Damian moved the corporate headquarters to Zeltros and set up the first themepark, a water park on the planet.

Emphasis was taken away from Casinos, although they weren't wiped out completely, and refocused on more family oriented entertainment and mobile location in the form of a revitalized fleet of cruise liners. While the other business persists the Brightstar Entertainment Group has made great strides to soften their image.
