TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Energy Torpedo Launcher.

  • Ammunition Capacity: Extreme - The launcher can fire 32 shots before undergoing a 180 second long recharge cycle. The ammunition supply is theoretically unlimited, but actual yield depends on mounting platform's reactor.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The ETL-03 can fire multiple types of energy torpedoes.​
    • Standard: Standard advanced proton torpedo damage equivalent energy torpedo.
    • Incendiary: Similar to the shot fired by the ancient Incinerator-class railgun, this torpedo can 'stick' to a target and continue to burn with the fury of a solar flare (naturally not the same temperature as a solar flare) for a short period of time, potentially superheating and weakening the structural integrity of armor and hull plating.
    • Ion: A packet of ion particles that potentially does similar damage on target as an ion torpedo.
  • Quad Barrel Assembly: Each barrel can load a particle type of energy torpedo and can fire either in pairs, all four at once or on their own with each single actuation of the weapon by the gunner.
  • Cooling Systems: In order to prevent the large amounts of heat generated by the weapon from melting it, the SCDC-01 has an integrated cooling system that will shut the weapon down in the event of it overheating in order to perform a coolant flush and to allow the weapon to cool down. Most mounting platforms can carry enough coolant for five coolant flushes.​
STRENGTHS
  • Long Range: The torpedoes have an extremely long range, allowing them to be used while potentially exposing the launch platform to minimum incoming fire.
  • Versatile: The ETL-03 is capable of firing multiple types of energy torpedoes, as well as setting any of its four barrels to fire different types of torpedoes, making it a very versatile weapon system.
  • Accurate: The ETL-03 is an accurate weapon out to its last range increment, making it suited for attacking subcomponents and hardpoints on enemy vehicles.
  • EMP/Ion Resistant: The launcher is armored with reinforced duraplast and equipped with a combat de-ionizer, it is greatly resistant to EMP/Ion damage.
  • Fast Projectile Speed: Because of the extremely high projectile speed, the chance of evasion by the target is lower than with several other types of weapon systems.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow Firing: The ETL-03 fires far slower than comparable warhead launchers as is typical for an energy torpedo launcher.
  • Unguided: Unlike more traditional standard ordnance, energy torpedoes are unguided and fly in a straight line.
  • EMP/Ion: If the launcher actually sustains enough EMP/Ion damage, it's accelerator rails will be permanently damaged, requiring a complete replacement of the barrel.
  • Slow Mode Change: Changing which type of torpedo each barrel is going to fire takes about the same as a recharge cycle.
  • Cooling System Malfunction: Should the cooling system malfunction or become damaged, the launcher will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure.
  • Exposed Cooling Coils: The weapon's plas-bonded ostrine cooling coils are largely exposed, rendering them more vulnerable to damage, particularly by powerful solid projectile weapons.
DESCRIPTION
In order to increase the versatility of the MBT-01 Jariler-class main battle tank, Breshig War Forge Consolidated modified their ETL-04M launcher such that it could be mounted on in a quad barrel configuration. The upscaled model had a far higher ammunition capacity, higher range and a greater degree of accuracy than the original while maintaining the versatility and fast projectile speed of the original model. Like the ETL-04M, the ETL-03 also features an integrated an cryoban cooling system and plas-bonded ostrine cooling coils that with the aid of enhanced power cycling and capacitor system allows the weapon to fire a staggering total of thirty two shots before having to undergo a 180 second recharge cycle.

Additionally, another important feature of their version is the ability to fire multiple types of torpedoes. The first is the standard torpedo that is equivalent in yield to an advanced proton torpedo. The second is an incendiary plasma torpedo that has the potential to 'stick' to a target and burn with the fury of a solar flare (naturally not the same temperature as a solar flare), similar to the shot fired by the Incinerator-class plasma railgun. The third is a packet of ion particles that have an equivalent yield to a starfighter grade ion torpedo.

Naturally, however, being an energy torpedo launcher it suffers from the same shortcomings typical of most energy torpedo launchers; the ETL-03 is a slow firing weapon and the torpedoes it fires are unguided. Being a magnetic accelerator weapon, should any EMP/Ion damage bypass its defenses, the launcher's accelerator coils will be fried, forcing a barrel replacement. Additionally, changing the type of torpedo fired is a lengthy process that takes as long as a full recharge cycle. Finally, should the cooling system fail for any reason, the launcher will shut down to prevent a critical operating failure, preventing the weapon from firing.
