PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Chaff Launcher: Chaff launchers give a good defence against fast warheads with in-built seeker heads.
  • Flare Launcher: Flare launchers operate better against slower but deadlier warheads.
  • IFF Confuser: The IFF confuser allows a pilot a potential second's edge over their enemy as their opponent's IFF systems are potentially momentarily scrambled.
  • Anti-Ordnance EM Probes: Anti-Ordnance EM probes are a surefire way to stop smart ordnance in their tracks, but there is only enough space for eight probes.
STRENGTHS
  • Suite of Countermeasures: Given the variety of countermeasures, the suite gives the pilot plenty of breathing room when it comes to avoiding enemy munitions or in the case of the tractor shroud, enemy tractor beams.
  • Automation Compatible: The countermeasure suite is compatible with various automatic threat detection systems and can be operated by a droid brain or astromech droid on board. Naturally, it is also compatible with the 'Manda' tactical battlenet.
  • Resilient: The reinforced duraplast armor and duranium casing make the component considerably resilient against kinetic, energy and EMP/Ion damage, while the agrinium mesh and combat de-ionizer only serve to augment its EMP/Ion protection.
  • Tractor Shroud: The wave-layered bomb launcher on board holds about four bombs. allowing four chances to avoid being caught by a tractor beam.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP/Ion: Enough EMP/Ion damage can and will fry the system despite its considerable protection.
  • Size: Given that the countermeasure suite is large and takes up a fair bit of space, it is difficult to retrofit to designs not already made with the suite in mind.
  • IFF Confuser: The IFF confuser can also affect friendly targets, which is why Breshig War Forge Consolidated recommends this feature be turned off unless being used with their 'Manda' tactical battlenet or a similar compatible system.
  • Sensors: In automated mode, the system's efficiency is directly related to how effective the craft's onboard sensors are.
DESCRIPTION
Developed for use on their own production starfighters, the Carud Dha'haase was designed to be comprehensive suite of countermeasures that could give the craft its mounted on an edge against a variety of different threats that it might face. Of course, with the case of all countermeasures, it is still up to the pilot to use them in an effective manner. That is unless the pilot chooses to use the 'automated' setting, which allows any automated threat detection system, astromech or integrated droid brain to control the countermeasure suite. This feature was also designed to work with the 'Manda' tactical battlenet system.

The system's main advantage is that it has a wide array of countermeasures at its disposal. A stock of eight anti-ordnance EM probes allow for up to eight advanced smart munitions to potentially be avoided. Where most fighters have either chaff or flare dispensers aboard, both chaff and flare dispensers are integrated into the launcher. The pilot has a choice to launch one or both, and can even select launch rate for the flare launchers.

Another very useful system is the wave-layered bomb launcher, better known as a 'tractor shroud'. The launcher can hold about four in its internal storage, giving the pilot about four chances to avoid being hit by a tractor beam. However, given the fact that tractor beams are a common sight, the large wave-layered bombs were seen as a necessary use of already limited space for other countermeasures.

Rounding the system off is the IFF confuser, which in the chaos of dogfights is intended to make an enemy pilot hesitate for the briefest of seconds as the device potentially scrambles their IFF systems. Unfortunately, the system doesn't actually possess the processing power to specifically scramble enemy IFF transponders, which is why Breshig War Forge Consolidated recommends pilots turn this feature off unless making use of the 'Manda' tactical battlenet or a similar compatible system.

Despite its advantages, the countermeasure suite is a little large, and is difficult to retrofit to craft not designed to use it from the get go. Additionally, while well protected against EMP/Ion damage, enough damage from said weapons can and certainly will fry the circuitry rendering the entire system completely and utterly unusable till repairs can be effected. In addition, when used in automated mode, the system is only as effective as the craft's sensor suite.

Nonetheless, Breshig War Forge Consolidated is confident that it will be able to have an affect on the market.
