Branching out (Asteria Starcatcher)

With a smirk, Ice nodded. "Game has only started. But I think I want to make this a challenge." Normally he wasn't so cocky. But considering how she pushed right back, he felt he could get away with a bit more aggressive playfulness. While she took hold of the next clay disc (or pigeon), he took a shot of whiskey anyway.

In truth, he knew she was very skilled. Ergo there probably wouldn't be much drinking in this game. So for a chance to mess with her just a bit more in a friendly way....and actually enjoy some of what had been brought up, he continued. "Go for it." He said, and quickly as she tossed it away, he took aim. He spent just a bit more time though. Having not spent as much time in the field recently as her, he needed a fraction of a second longer to be certain of his shot.

The crack of his pistol gave evidence he had fired. A moment later the clay "pigeon" shattered after being struck by a round. "Your turn." He said with a grin and a wink.

Asteria waited two seconds after the disc was launched, calculating speed and trajectory, before aiming and shooting in a split second. Smiling with cockiness, she watched the disc explode into shards, then looked behind at [member="Ice"], "Anything to critique?"

He chuckled lightly. "On a hit? Nope not really. Though since we seem to be about on par with each other skill wise. Let's see how you try your next shot after having a shot." He finished taking another shot of whiskey, and nailing the 2nd disc. It was only now, the alcohol was starting to hit him. The next shots should prove to be more interesting.

Asteria nodded and took a shot of the Correllian red, which she found to be not too bad, grabbed another disc, and threw it with a slight tip to the left so it veered off course.

And so the shooting went on. Back and forth till Ice finally yielded. He had been spending way to much time in the office it seemed these days. And his shooting was beginning to show it. "Alright. I yield. You win!" He said with a smirk as he pulled up a chair before falling over. A small laugh escaped his lips. "Man I haven't had a shooting competition in a long time. Looks like I'm getting rusty. Good shooting for you though."

Asteria sat down across from [member="Ice"], laughing, "Thank you, but who said you were rusty, Ice? You shot half of the discs I threw!" She laughed some more, her eyes sparkling. "What do you suggest we do now?"

A warm smile still on his face, he simply cast his glance into her eyes. It was an interesting question. Considering they had both been drinking and having a good time, his mind definitely thought of something as he looked at the exotic beauty before him. He almost smirked when it came to mind. However, he was trying to be a gentlemen and not take advantage of the situation. What with them alone in her villas and all. He certainly wasn't apposed to certain activities obviously, but for now he'd let her lead. After all, she might not be interested in anything but friendship in the first place.

"Well. I came up with the first activity. I'd say it's your turn. What would you like to do?" He finished with a playful grin.

Asteria smiled and thought for a moment, then she got up and went to one of the smaller boxes and brought out a book, not a hologram, an actual paper book. The book was clearly old and the cover had strange letters and a picture of a castle by a lake with a starry sky. Asteria put it on the coffee table, and looked at [member="Ice"], "It took me years to find this book again, it is one of my father's favorite books." She looked serious for a second, then smiled and laughed, "How would you like to learn more about Flague and the Camo? If you wish I can teach you all the constellations in the Flague night sky and the history of my species." She knew many people didn't usually take time to study history any farther back then the Clone Wars, or learn the constellations of a planet, so she'd be surprised if Ice wanted to.

"Hmm. Well as a pilot, I'm always up for learning new constellations. And history was always a favorite subject of mine so sure why not." He said sincerely. "Besides, it might help in the search if I had a little more background information on you and your people."

Asteria smothered a sigh of relief, sat next to [member="Ice"], and proceeded to open the almost ancient book to a blank page.

She looked at it for a moment, confused, then figuring out what she did wrong, laughed, "I forgot to say the password!" Asteria closed the book again and said the password, "Asteri cree da Nocturna Skee!" A rune jewel in the center of the starry sky started to glow with a bright white light, and Asteria opened the book again, but this time to a page full of strange rune letters that only Asteria could understand, as that was Flaeg, the language of the Camo, and it took her a second to remember how to read it. When she remembered how, the words and memories came back and flooded her mind, and she translated the title to Ice, "The History of Flague and the Stars It Holds in Its Night Sky." She turned the next page, which had a picture of a Clone Wars era star ship crashed on the surface of a beautiful Naboo like planet with a young boy watching the ship.
