Bounty (auction)

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Wait, wait, wait,

Instead of killing Ayden,
Can't you capture him alive and tie him up to a pole?
And then make a bantha and a ysalamiri slowly chew on his hat as he watches on helplessly? :3

Again, there are always courses to follow to find the means. As said before, tagged/marked money, tracking chip, but then there is also other things that can be done. Force usage could likely narrow down whom it is, to a select few which then you employ other means of location.

Even Zaiden wasnt perfectly hidden and he was a stealth master.

Harsh man. Twisted and vile.

Love it

No. That would be too kind.

I have to point out, again, that people were not all in one room. This was an auction that was conducted primarily over the under-reaches of the HoloNet. You would not have been able to seize that particular droid as it was in a remote location.

Now people are using their heads.

I'll let Ayden Cater speak for himself now - his auction, he'd know what was going on. Frankly, though, so far as I can tell the droid never left the centralized location. Having one droid deliver multiple auction items across the galaxy at the same time is physically impossible.

*flies away*

[member="Ayden Cater"] I was going of rpj, though if you like to say what I can not do. Please list them, and I happily go through it

If the droid was a holographic image, then how did he manage to snag everyone's stuff?

With the Auction House being half-IC, half-OOC , I don't think it's very clear to anyone what exactly occurred. I mean, is listing an item the same thing is handing it over? Is winning an auction the same as submitting clean, non-exploding merchandise? If the robot wasn't there to collect the item itself, who did? Was it a drop location? On which planet? Was there a staff of workers involved that could be tortured for information?

The whole idea of adding a "Hey, you can be deliberately ICly scammed" dynamic to the Auction House means having to add a whole system for detecting and resisting counterfeit product. Sure, a lesson was taught, but since this all happened ICly, isn't it metagaming if I apply it to the wisdom of another character? If it's this in-depth, should auctions simply occur in the main roleplaying forum instead of where it currently resides?

Should we be setting up Auctioneers Insurance companies to protect ourselves in the event of fraud? Do we need to bring Pawn Stars experts with us to gauge every bid?

Darn, I want to do this now. Could be a good way to make money.

Insurance is never a bad thing, though in the future just being there in person might be enough.

As far as the process, here's how it would have gone down.

Objects would have been submitted to a simple protocol droid, who would have taken it back to a secure room for scanning. Once the item was confirmed clean, the objects in question would be loaded onto transports to be taken away. Meanwhile, the auction lot items would have been brought out and delivered by the same droid. In the case of a holocron, the guardian would have been a simple, nondescript Human male who would basically stonewall the person asking for knowledge. The holocron itself is functional and is legitimate in make. However, it simple does not have the data it was claimed to have.

No organic being would have been present.

So, as bids began to trump other bids, the droids would begin loading the new highest bid as they unloaded and returned the items of the now lower bidder? Were the participating characters present, watching this process go down, or was it snail mail?

EDIT: Additionally, with an all-artificial staff, how were they able to ensure the legitimacy of holocron and Force artifact bids?

The whole thing was basically Space Skyped

Now that I think we're on the same page, the process of scanning the winning bids would have taken several hours. In that time, their winning lot would have been flown out to them.

You mean as far as the exchange process or working through the aftermath? Cause as things go and droids are interrogated and warehouses assaulted, I'm totally okay with providing information in posts.

So we have a skype account my spymaster freind can hack and start from their.
I have a droid, to see where the central warehouse was.
We have account details, to where we sent the money
I have a troops that board your ship the freighter with me to get item (though that depend on few things)
As such prize I would be very excited about. ( also I always take minimum of platoon with me if I can)
[member="Ayden Cater"] did I miss any thing, or add some thing your not happy with.
Also do you mind if [member="Sarge Potteiger"] makes final judgement on anything?

[member="sabrina"]

Only thing is by the time you would have sat down and determined that the holocron is worthless, the freighter that left with your money would have been long gone. But you're on about all the other stuff.

[member="Tyger Tyger"]

Oh yeah, no. I'll make posts in this thread and keep things moving. I like the story idea of it.
