The gladiators lifestyle.. even among slaves and free men it was not a thing to be trifled with. So simple and it was all that they needed to get through life. Wake up in the morning, eat, train and sleep. Then once they got in the arena they were expected to fight and maybe die if the crowd willed it. The plan was ingenious really.. take a slave, allow him and others to think he was more than just a man, a God of the Arena, all the while he stands but a slave. God of nothing but blood and sand, yet the crowd would grow to adore them if only they win and win in style.
However the crowd was a fickle thing and their favor, fleeting. It would not take long for you to lose such adoration, if you were really good though.. it was not impossible to rise again if only given the chance. These fights in the arena drew all kinds, looking to wage money on the gladiators or simply to be entertained. As civilized as the galaxy wanted you to believe it was, there was always places like these that glorified bloodshed, violence and sex. For one such as the mad Shape-shifter this was a place he would like to think was his own little haven.
Insanity, that's what they called it when a man that had no reason to be involved in these fights shows up and volunteers to participate in the fight. He called it opportunity, for what of a man that was no slave gaining fame and notoriety on the sands of the Arena? There was money to be made, glory to be seized and Seth Draclau would have equal parts of it. He was already a man who could have anything he wanted.. but there was always more.
Dressed in the traditional garb of a gladiator with two swords as his weapons he waited behind gated entrance for his introduction for the match. He wasn't sure just who he would be fighting but it mattered very little when his name was called and the gates opened in front of him. Walking out onto the sands, his arms rose up in the air and the crowd cheered for his entrance. A smile spread over his face at the reception this was a good day to fight.. maybe even to die.
