Braze stepped back, his blade arcing downward in a sharp parry to deflect the pike's strike aimed at his sword arm. Braze took the chance to press the offensive. With his foil-like saber, Braze had to rely on finesse over strength.

Pivoting his weight to his back foot, he twisted his wrist, pressing the saber down against the shaft of Aadihr's pike. The application of force was aimed at pinning the weapon momentarily. Braze's goal wasn't brute disarmament—his saber design lacked the heft for that—but to disrupt Aadihr's grip and positioning, in an attempt at forcing the larger weapon into an awkward angle.

As the pike strained under the pressure, Braze slid his blade forward along the shaft, keeping his stance light as he dared to set a boot atop the pike's shaft.

Aadihr only had a moment's warning, a slight peak in Braze's aura warned him of a gambit. The Padawan's blade began sliding up the handle of the polearm, foot approaching to step down on the weapon.

"Oh no you don't" Aadihr grunted, almost subconsciously as he was too focused to hold his tongue.

At the same instant Aadihr dropped his Pike entirely, sidestepping into an shoulder-check against the boy's chest; simultaneously Aadihr was using both arms to try to grapple and control Braze's sword arm - one of his arms wrapping underneath the armpit to lock himself to the shoulder and the other grasping at the wrist to halt retaliation from the thin saber.

Braze barely had time to gasp as Aadihr's shoulder drove into his chest like a battering ram. The impact stole his breath, driving him backward, his boots skidding against the ground. The force of the hit sent him sliding, as he tried to focus on the lightsaber pike that was strewn to the ground.

The weapon, began to roll under the tip of his boot as he was pushed back. Braze angled his boot, toes scraping to find purchase against the ground to drag the pike with him. Dirt and grit scraped under his boot as he ground it along the ground, barely keeping control as he struggled to halt his backward momentum.

He glanced down, his foot grinding the pike into position. With a flick of his toes, and a shove of his boot, he sent the weapon rolling up onto the tip of his boot's toe cap. The movement was hurried, imperfect—but it worked. As the pike was kicked into the air, Braze snatched it with his off hand, the shaft spinning clumsily in his grip as he flourished the unfamiliar weapon as he choked up on the front.

His leg followed through on its upward motion, hooking sharply around Aadihr's knee. His boot locked behind the joint, yanking backwards.

He moved to drive the business end of the pike forward in a sharp strike aimed at to Aadihr's torso.

Aadihr successfully prevented the foil, but in an instant the Padawan had his knee locked and buckling, and his own pike brandished against him.

The numbing tingle of the entropic blade pierced into to his back, spreading pins and needles out from the epicenter, his eyelids growing heavier by the milisecond. Aadihr lacked power with force telekinesis, but what he didn't lack was precision. Before the blade of his own Pike could fully render him unconscious, he hurled his paltry force energy to flick the switch of his pike, shutting off the emitter and reducing the rest of Braze's thrust as a still-painful jab into his back with the disabled emitter end.

Aadihr focused entirely on defense as he lifted Braze from his grip on sword arm and lock on the knee. Aadihr couldn't keep himself from falling forward from the momentum of Braze's pull, but twisting himself with the unwieldy pike trailing behind the Padawan's single hand grip would at least pin the pike staff underneath them as they land atop it - painful cylinder to fall upon, but keeping the pike harmlessly underneath his back meant only one entropic blade to worry about - leaving the capable martial artist who had control of his leg and the sword arm Aadihr struggled to keep at bay proved more than enough threat for Aadihr to remain on the defensive - the Padawan had a solid upper hand.

Aadhir couldn't rely on the force to get him free with brute strength or telekinetic ability, his prime weaknesses within the Force proving to be his bane in this moment.

Breathing heavily, Aadihr muttered, "I should have kept up on grappling, or Broken Gate in general" straining his muscles to try to maneuver Braze's wrist and sword arm against him.

Braze hit the ground hard, the pole pressing uncomfortably against his back. A sharp, involuntary squeak escaped him, quickly dissolving into a ragged coughing fit as he struggled to draw breath. Desperation flared in his chest, but he fought to maintain focus. His grip on the blade slackened slightly, allowing his fingers to slip within the rings of the hilt. With a practiced twist, he adjusted his grasp, maneuvering the rings into a new alignment. The blade angled downward, its point hovering precariously as Braze blindly twisted his wrist, attempting to drive it toward Aadihr.

Aadihr finally began to feel as if he had the upper hand, no longer reacting but able to push an offensive.

It wasn't until Braze's Entropite blade cut an icy swath of pins and needles through Aadihr's arm and into his back that he realized what happened - the now-reverse-grip foil sapped his strength as his arm and legs went numb; the blade had crossed his spine.

"Oh sithspi-" Aadihr trailed off as his head nodded to one side, his body limp in a suddenly inflicted sleep. The blade had 'cut' through to his core, a fatal blow with a kyber crystal's blade.

He landed shoulder and face first in the dirt adjacent to the Padawan, his cheek and nose smushed to the side, causing an immediate snore with the next few breaths.

Braze was still coughing, clearly winded, and wondering if his lungs were trying to file a formal complaint. He couldn't remember a fight that had been this grueling—or this much in his personal space. Usually, he was the one doing the invading, not the other way around.

He just laid there for a moment, sprawled uncomfortably on the pike like some tragic piece of modern art, before finally switching off his saber with a groan.

"Great," he muttered to himself, wincing as he tried to shift Aadhir's leg off his ribs.

After a few more groans and exaggerated grunts, he managed to sit up, glaring at Aadhir like he was personally responsible for gravity. Braze gave the taller man a few nudges, which proved about as effective as poking a bantha with a stick. Sighing dramatically, he rolled Aadhir onto his back with the grace of someone trying not to pull a muscle. Then, with the same energy as a parent waking a teenager, he started lightly patting his face.

"Hey. Wake up. You're not dead, right? Because if you are, this is going to be very awkward for me."
