OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
An unusual example of an organically-produced metal, Blightsteel is created solely through the actions of the Tarnaci Blight.
When the Blight successfully overtakes a victim, it generates a variety of cybernetic replacements and augmentations from the victim's own biomatter, almost always consisting of this material. To date, this is the only known way to produce Blightsteel. All attempts to produce it outside of the actions of the Blight on living tissue have been dismal failures.
Nonetheless, Blightsteel does have its practical uses, enough so that the Dzara makes a great effort to recover deceased Blightspawn.
Blightsteel is naturally regenerative, and to a far greater degree than other Helix-designed metals. If damaged or destroyed, it will return to the state in which it was first generated, often within seconds to minutes (depending on the severity of the damage in question). As such, the metallic components of which Blightspawn are formed can be exceptionally resistant to damage.
This can render the substance as frustrating to shape as it is to produce, but some success has been had in prompting the Blight to create metallic components in exactly the size and shape indicated.
In terms of durability, Blightsteel falls somewhere slightly below Helsteel, but enjoys a greater degree of self-repairing capability. Strangely, Blightsteel can occur in a variety of different colors and textures, ranging from bone-white to a light-absorbing midnight black. Regardless of color, however, its properties remain largely the same.
When it can be properly harvested, Blightsteel makes for excellent light armor material, as it weighs relatively little for a reasonably-dense metallic substance.

- Manufacturer: Tarnaci Blight (Directly) The Dzara (Indirectly)
- Affiliation: The Dzara
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: N/A
- Modularity: No
- Production: Minor
- Material: Repurposed living biomatter
- Regenerative properties
- Created through molecularly-rearranged living tissue
- Living Metal: Blightsteel possesses startling regenerative qualities, even greater than that of Helsteel.
- Rigor Mortis: Blightsteel enjoys a moderate resistance to damage, and an excellent resistance to typical wear and tear.
- Grown, Not Made: Blightsteel can only be constructed through the actions of Tarnaci Blight. Attempts to create more outside of this cycle have thus far ended in failure.
