Technological Terror
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
A tentative name for the vile liquid generated within Blightspawn, Atter is the closest thing such creatures have to bodily fluids.
Blightspawn Atter is a viscous, faintly luminescent substance, and seems to exist within both the organic and mechanical portions of most Blightspawn. Its hue ranges from orange to yellow, but regardless of color, its function remains mostly unchanged.
Blightspawn Atter is powerfully corrosive, able to eat cheerfully through meat, bone, metal, and glass. Blightspawn, naturally, are immune to the corrosive effects of their own bodily fluids, but most other creatures and objects are not.
Atter seems to serve no actual life-sustaining purpose in Blightspawn anatomy, and such creatures can lose most or all of their bodily volume with no apparent ill effects. It is theorized that the creation of Atter is simply a side effect or waste product of the Blight's transformative effects, and any lost is gradually replaced over time.
That is not to say, of course, that Atter serves no purpose at all. Many forms of Blightspawn weaponize the substance, whether in its raw form or in a molecularly-agitated "plasma" reaction. In the latter case, Atter is superheated and launched as a sort of natural ranged weapon, inflicting a grisly combination of chemical and thermal burns.
Exposure to Atter is highly unhealthy for most living things, whatever form it comes in. Even a few drops can swiftly eat through unprotected skin, and usually won't stop there. In its ignited state, Atter can flash-vaporize bodily fluids, instantly moltenize many metals, and poison the bloodstream of most creatures it comes into contact with.
Perhaps worst of all, Atter is the liquid substance of the Blight. Even minor contact can prove very dangerous as a potential infection vector.
Sadly, this substance cannot be as widely-produced as Helix had first hoped, as (similarly to Blightsteel) it seems to be generated only through the actions of the Tarnaci Blight. Further difficulties have been encountered in terms of storage. Atter eventually corrodes most forms of physical containment, leading to a multitude of early quarantine breaches before magnetic suspension and stasis were settled upon.

- Manufacturer: Tarnaci Blight (Directly) The Dzara (Indirectly)
- Affiliation: The Dzara
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: N/A
- Modularity: No
- Production: Minor
- Material: Repurposed biomatter
- Highly corrosive
- Exists in liquid or plasmoid state
- Baneful: Atter is exceptionally hazardous to living things, capable of poisoning or corroding virtually anything it comes into contact with.
- Bio-Plasma: Atter is easily galvanized into a plasmoid state, making it useful in the production of weaponry.
- Containment Breach: Atter cannot be produced outside of the actions of the Blight, and requires expensive, specialized storage methods.
