SPECIAL FEATURES
- Dark Side Nexus: Localized, Force Drain Affect
- Light: As a Blast Vest impregnated by small, Songsteel plates, this armor does not restrict the wearer's movements nor weigh them down.
- Protection: The Blast Vest offers average degrees of protection against common, battlefield threats. In addition, the Songsteel plating offers immunity to the blades of Lightsabers.
- Nexus: Having been born from previously alchemized Songsteel, the plates and pauldron of the Blast Vest boast the following affect:
WEAKNESSES...a single ability from the alchemical process: a nexus of Dark Side power characterized by a passive Force Drain affect. Projected in a one meter radius about the wearer, this nexus will consume the stamina and Force energies of any living being unfortunate enough to step inside and contributes them to the wearer's reserves. It is to be noted, however, that the Drain affect is not significant enough to completely exhaust a victim in seconds; or even minutes for that matter...In addition, the Nexus is indiscriminate, meaning that absolutely anyone (friend or foe) will be subjected to the affect upon entering its radius.
- Coverage: Darth Metus' Blast Vest offers protection to the torso exclusively. All other areas of his body are completely open and devoid of protection.
- Neutral: As is the case with all Alchemical affects, should the Blast Vest enter a Ysalamir or Void Stone Field, its Drain Affect will be nullified.
- Light: As is the case with all Alchemical creations, should the Blast Vest be subjected to Force Light, its Drain Affect will be nullified. Prolonged exposure can permanently damage or destroy the alchemized plating.
- Defense: Traditional means of resisting the affects of Force Drain can defend opponents from the Vest's native affect; such as Protection Bubble and Force Barrier.
- Addictive: As is the case with typical Force Drain, simply wearing the Blast Vest confers an addictive affect upon the wearer. It will slowly attempt to urge the wearer into deliberately being around others as to "feed it."
Prior to the Destruction of Mandalore, it was very easy for Darth Metus to utilize his previous armor in tandem with Beskar'gam. While the resulting loadout looed horrendous to look upon, it did allow the Alchemist to make the best of all of his armaments at once. However. Having lost the majority of his personal armaments during the planet's destruction, the Sith was forced to re-evaluate his personal defense. As opposed to forging a fresh Beskar'gam - or similar armor set - Darth Metus elected to consolidate his personal defense into a single piece. A standard Blast Vest was purchased and subsequently modified in order to house the remains of his former, Songsteel-based armor.
The result was a remarkably light source of personal defense centered around the Sith's torso.
For the most part, the Blast Vest is completely standard. It has a number of pockets to hold additional ammunition, straps to adjust comfort, and offers protection for the whole of Darth Metus' torso. However, with the exception of a songsteel pauldron upon his left shoulder, the remainder of his body is completely exposed. Tactically, the choice to swap total protection for the vastly lighter vest was one rooted in mobility. For decades, Darth Metus had lived with the reality of restricted movement on the battlefield; yet the Blast Vest affords a new, much more maneuverable option.
All in all, this is a simple step forward for one infamous for making more excessive, personal armorsets.
