It was dark and the main assault was tomorrow. That was why they were being sent now. Intel said that there was a secret (until now) Seperatist R and D facility here. So far the Seps haven't got word of the imminent attack and the Republic can't let the Seps leave with their experimental weapons and tech. They need to either steal or destroy it without alerting the Seps. Such a task is too sensitive for normal clone troopers and it's too much for one ARC Trooper. It required a special bred of soldiers. This task fell to Republic Commandos.

RC-1025, also known as Patches, watched the ground quickly came toward him. At the right altitude he released the chute and glided to the rendezvous point. He touched down at the top of the mesa and shortly the rest of Dodger Squad joined him. "All clear," Patches said as he scoped the landscape with his DC-17m. RC-0311, Jori, motioned for his squad to form up around their entrance, a hidden panel in the dirt. A black armored Commando, RC-4678 also known as Sneaks, quickly went to work on the panel as the others watched his back. The stealth and hacking expert, Sneaks dug around the hatch and found a electronic panel. Plugging wires into it from his data pad, he deactivated any alarms before the hatched opened. Sneaks handed Patches the end of the rope and he slowly went through the hatch. He found a retractable ladder but didn't use it, instead having Patches lower him into the room.

Poking his head through a hole in the roof, Sneaks saw only an empty room with two large doors. Giving a signal, he was lowered to the floor and he went to the door panel. After some hacking magic, he lowered the ladder without tripping any alarms. The rest of Dodger Squad met their brother in the room and they formed up around their leader, Jori. "Remember the mission?" he asked them.

RC-2000, Bonkers, pointed a thumb at his pack filled with explosives then gave a thumbs up. Their mission was asset denial. Either they were getting whatever was in there or no one was. The others acknowledged what Jori said and then Jori motioned for them toward the door. They formed up, Sneaks working on the door control with Patches at the doors edge while Jori and Bonkers lined up on the other side. Sneaks put a finger to signal that it may take a moment as he sifted through map data and avoided alarms.

Elise was working on DSF-8DS while the clones are busy infiltrating the base without being seen.

DFS-8DS was receiving some more AI optimisation if you wanted to know, the droid stands upright in walker mode with a long cable that is attached to the back of its large head, this cable acts as a connection between the brown machine and the computer on the ground that is currently being used by Elise who is furiously typing down code to keep the feed of data steady and coming.

The stats that the upgraded droid starfighter pulled off on its first battle with the modifications where nothing short of impressive. . .(Compared to the other vulture droids.) and they also clearly showed that it is much more independent. . .it pulled a lot less information from the central control ships when battling clones, or just anytime in general.

Money was weighted against the improvements and she was given the green light to continue her work. . .Together with a larger budged and permission to work at one of the hidden CIS laboratory's.

Of course. . .they didn't know that it also improved in intelligence aside from just battle tactics, DFS-8DS slowly started to ask question after the battle. . .which surprised her. . .it must be something in the opensourch AI that she used sometimes to safe herself time. Elise didn't remove it. . .she actually liked the new curios nature of the now-no-longer-so mindless metal collection, but she knew that the CIS would not approve of it at all, so she kept it secret.

Elise allowed herself a pause and typed in some commands to wake the connected droid from its slumber, the red eyes on the large metal head flickered on and it scans its surroundings.

They where inside a room 20 meter long and 10 meter wide, it was one of the more secured rooms in the lab since it housed war-related discoveries and advancements. To the left was a door to an other room that is used to test carbon freezing. . .there is also a door on the right side, behind it are storage rooms filled to the brim with research equipment, but any of the research itself is in the room with Elise and DSF-8DS, behind the droid is also a much smaller door that leads to the gentleman and lady toilets.

There are two more people in the room. . .one of them is working on improving a B-1 droid blaster, the other one is doing experiments on clones to try and find a toxin that will only affect the bounty hunter copies.

DSF-8DS tries its best to move its head so it can get a better view of Elise. "Hello Elise." it said in its usual starter sentence with the distinct monotone voice just like HAL9000. "How are you doing miss ?"

Elise smiles brightly to the droid and answers the question. "I'm doing fine, thank you."

After deactivating the alarms and setting the security cameras in the next room on a loop, Sneaks began counting down with a hand, telling the squad to be ready. When it was completed, he opened the doors. Jori was in first as they rushed inside the room to find the only thing to meet them was lab equipment. "Clear," each squad member called once they found no enemies hiding from them. Jori turned to Bonkers and said, "Set 'em up."

The demo man nodded and then dug into his pack. He pulled out some explosives and began placing them around the room. Sneaks went to work on the next door panel, trying to hack it and gain access to any security cameras. Jori and Patches sifted through the equipment, looking for anything to take. "Just looks like science junk," Jori commented, "Don't see anything that screams 'Weapon of Mass Destruction'."

"They are definitely brewing something," Patches said, "I recognize some of the equipment. Used to work on biological stuff. Genetics and such. They don't have the samples here though. They're somewhere else."
"Great. More clearing," Jori mumbled. Going through more rooms meant more time and a bigger chance of alerting the Seps. However they can't leave without making sure everything is set to blow.
"Charges set," Bonkers called giving the squad a thumbs up.
"How we doing on the door?" Jori asked.
"Door's good. Working the cameras," was the reply as Sneaks finally connected to it and looked for what was on the other side of the door.

The video feed gets hacked by the clone and displays the following,

The room looks like a large hangar of some kind . .there are two captured LAAT Gunships in the back which buzz droids are busy dismantling, next to the two gunships lie some failed droid experiments, they looked like B-2s but slimmer, and the last noticeable things are. . .three almost naked clones frozen in carbon prisons. . .perhaps they were used for bio-research. . .or are going to be used for it later ?

There is a large strong looking door on the other side of the hangar parallel to the one that the clones are behind. . .it looks more secured than any other door they have yet to encounter and it is also guarded by a two Super battle droids.

And of course since this seems to be a hangar. . .there also is a large ship-sized hangar door that can be used to provide the lab with supplies brought by a cargo ship.

RC-1025

Sneaks managed to hack into the cameras and frowned at what he found. Buzz droids were busy dismantling two stolen LAATs and two Super Battle Droids guarding a heavy door. It seemed to have more inside than just lab equipment though. Maybe something of real value. "Company next room," Sneaks reported to the team.

"What we got?" Jori asked.
"Buzz droids and Supers."
They buzz droids they could handle. It was the Super Battle Droids that will be the problem. "Bonkers, EMP," he said.

With another thumbs up he took a grenade off his bandoleer. They lined up against the door as they did last time and waited for the count. At zero the doors opened and Bonkers threw the grenade. They stayed behind the threshold as they waited for the grenade to go off. With a flash of light and a slight crackle of electricity it went off. They ran into the room and found all electronics fried while the Super Battle Droids spasm and flailed as their circuits went haywire. Patches and Jori opened fired while Sneaks and Bonkers hid behind cover, Sneaks changed to sniper mode and Bonkers to anti-armor.

The supers fire in random directions in a vain attempt to hit the enemy that they will never get to see while a shower of blaster fire rains down on them. None of the droids in the room got the time to send an alert message to the network. . .but their signals disappeared. . .and that was all that the computer needed to activate the alarms and send sweeps of the horrible load sound through the hidden base.

Then everything happened very fast. . .Elise almost jumped up from her seat when the alarm beamed the room full of sound, she wasted no more time and typed in a command to disconnected the cable from the Vulture droids head so it could move around freely once more. She takes the data cartridge out of the computer and puts it in one of her pockets to keep it save, the small SE-14 blaster pistol that she always carried was ripped out of its holster and she held the weapon close to herself to quickly fire at any target if may appear.

"Guard me will you 8DS ?"Asked the woman in her twenties before running to the lady toilets to hide.

"I will." was all the Vulture replied before walking back as well to stand right in front of the door that Elise sprinted through. It pulled some information from the network, the enemy was in the hangar. . .8DS points its frontal body straight to the large door ready to fire one of its two energy torpedoes if the enemy happened to open it.

And the Vulture droid was not the only one. . .there are two supers, one guards the left side of the door and one the right, the two other experiments also had one super guarding them, 8DS didn't need one of course. . .

The human that was working on the B-1 droid blaster rifle quickly loaded it and took cover behind a supply crate, ready to try and safe his own life. . .the other human that was doing some gruesome experiments on clones was not so eager in mind though. . .he made a run for it and hides himself behind one of the carbon prisons in the other room, which door was once again Guarded by two supers.

Droid reinforcements were already sent to the hangar. . .the clones would have to act very quickly or ells the tables of favour would be turned against them.

RC-1025

With the end of Super Battle Droids came the beginning of the alarms. It was bound to happen eventually. Taking out droids wasn't exactly a stealthy thing. Patches ran to the control panel and hit the button, closing the door to prevent any troops from getting in and buy some time, then he shot the panel so they can't open it. "The news is out! Bonkers get on that door!" ordered Jori.

The demolition man smiled under his helmet. Finally got to do what he was trained for instead of all this sneaking around. Looking at the large, heavy door he decided to go with the demo golden rule: no such thing as over kill. He began planting breach charges on the door as Sneaks tried to hack the security cameras to see what was on the other side. Patches and Jori began moving junk and crates to provide some sort of cover. When they finished Jori looked over to the two LAATs. "Sneaks, try to get those guns going. Patches, watch our six," he said.

They instantly got to work, Sneaks went over to the side cannon and tried messing with the wiring to get it online. The EMP only damaged active computer systems. Patches hid behind the cover and prepped a flash grenade. They couldn't risk damaging anything inside with explosives for they could accidentally release a biological agent or something even worse. Jori took cover behind an adjacent bit of cover and pulled out another EMP grenade, except much more powerful than the previous one. It wasn't strong enough to say take out a starship but enough to mess with its shields and take down a Super Battle Droid in one go. "Sneaks, update!" Jori called.

"Another minute," he said.
"Door ready to go boom gents!" Bonkers called as he ran to the edge of the doorway with detonator in hand.
"Blow it!" Jori yelled.
"Gents, I bring you CHAOS!" Bonkers exclaimed once he pressed the button.

The explosion was large and powerful, blowing the doors wide open, but the explosive artist placed the charges in such a way were none of the debris flew into the room. A second later two grenades flew into the room and went off, one producing an incredible flash and deafening noise while the other emitted a powerful electronic pulse.

The LAAT comes online. . .Unfortunately the programs that run the fly-by-fire system have been stripped from the memory. . .it was now little more than a useless collection of metal.

The doors explode outwards and fly through the room for a short moment before coming to a halt, the supers that were standing on the left and right side of the door got blasted to pieces by the power of the explosion. The surviving supers fire their hand blasters through the cloud of smoke that emits from the gaping hole. only seconds after this the two grenades roll out, the first one explodes with an ear shattering bang and a blinding flash. . .the droids where affected little by that, their photoreceptors and microphones adjusting in little than a second to functional normal again. The human that was hiding behind a cargo box next to the clone he was testing on was not so lucky though, he was blinded and his ears where making noting but a load constant beep.

And then the second grenade explodes, sending an electrical shockwave through the room, the supers that where standing next to the two experiments fell down and fizzle out, but the two other supers at the carbon experiment room remained functional and only stopped firing for a second or two.

DFS-8DS' large metal body shook from the EMP, its vision became black from a few seconds and it looked like it was shutting down. . .the gyro inside the body screamed waves of data to the droid brain that it was about to collapse onto the ground unless it restarted to balance itself. The systems came back on just in time and the Vulture was able to balance its body, the vision was still slightly distorted. . .but that didn't matter, it remember where the explosion came from and it fired an energy torpedo towards the door, it dint necessary have to hit any target. . .anyone or anything in a radius of 2.5 meter would be knocked away from the blast, if not also a little hurt.

There was a small success with the LAAT. It was on but sadly the weapons were. It was a shame too, for it looked like they would definitely need them. Bonkers, being next to the door, was the first to poke his head out of cover but quickly went back into it. "What the hell is a Vulture Droid doing here?" he yelled. At that moment the droid chose to fire its torpedo.

Sneaks, working on the LAAT, was least effected by the blast. Though Patches and Jori were behind cover, the force of explosion caused them to fly backwards a few feet. Patches sluggishly crawled back into cover as Jori was slow to get up. Seeing his brothers in trouble, Bonkers popped around the corner and fired at the mechanical monstrosity. Seeing the LAAT was a lost cause, Sneaks went into action. With his DC-17m already in sniper mode, he slide into cover and decided to take out the lesser threats. He sighted in on one of the two remaining Supers and took his shot.

Elise knew that the thirt explosion came from a torpedo fired by DFS-8DS, she hoped that everything was going to be alright. . .but she didn't think that things where desperate enough yet to come out and fight herself.

The grenade gets fired by Bonkers. . .but the range is only a few feet so it comes to a halt a bit closer to DFS-8DS than in the middle between the Clone and droid, the grenade explodes and only sends some computers and metal boxes flying through the room, one gets launched against one of DFS-8DS' wings. . .but it couldn't really care any less about a dent or scratch.

One of the two supers got shot down by the sniper, the human behind the metal box against a wall regained his senses. . .he peeked over it carefully and saw the clone that fired the grenade and attempted to take aim and fire an array of shots.

The Vulture fired a second torpedo to the same location shortly after the super got shot down.

Due to both the grenade and suppressing fire from the scientist, Bonkers was forced to hide behind his cover. When the Vulture droid shot another torpedo, some debris from Patches' cover flew over him. Jori was tossed even further and Patches wasn't sure he was going to get back up without medical assistance. Sneaks was too far from the blast to be effected by it besides some momentary smoke and small debris to cloud his vision.

After a few moments Patches decided it was the best time to take action. He ran over to his fallen brother and dragged him back to cover. Seeing this, Bonkers decided to fire with his Anti-Armor attachment in hopes of taking the attention away from them. Sneaks waited for the debris cloud to clear before he took another shot.

The B2 and human move their attention to the grenade and try to shoot it away from themselves, afraid that they will be harmed by the pending explosion.

DFS-8DS is reloading its torpedoes, a progress that will take 25 seconds for the first one to be ready, the droid stays focused on the clones but is unable to fire now. . .and just storming towards them is an option not worthy to try. . .and it would leave Elise in danger, it needs her.

Droids in an other room are starting to try and open the doors with welding guns, the clones need to hurry. . .not too much time is left.

Instead of a big explosion that one would expect from a grenade, instead thick smoke began pouring out of it. This was no ordinary smoke, it was IR smoke made so those with infrared vision couldn't see through it. As it began filling up the lab, Bonkers took the opportunity to fire an anti armor round at the large Vulture droid. Sneaks saw that they were running out of time as the doors on the other side of the room began to glow red. He ran forward, changing his DC-17m to blaster setting, then fired through the smoke to suppress the droid and scientist. Patches took the opportunity to stop and then pick up his comrade, slinging him on his shoulders in a fireman carry. With one hand holding onto his friend with the other holding his rifle, Patches too fired into the smoke until he disappeared into it. Bonkers was the last into the room, stepping to the control panel and activating the door to close it.

Patches quickly found cover among the various lab equipment then set his comrade down as he began to do a quick medical assessment of him. Bonkers knocked over a table with who knows how what on it and used it for cover as he waited for the door to close. At this point the smoke filled the room, blocking most visibility. Sneaks did what he's best at, silently sneaking through the smoke like a reaper as he search for his targets.

The explosive grenade comes close enough to DFS-8DS this time that it can inflict damage, the force of the explosion damages the droid enough that it can no longer change to flight mode, but that's is not really a problem right now anyway to be fair.

Some of the droids break through the first door, but the second door closes before they can get through it. . .they start their tools again and make a start on breaking it open.

The weapon scientist can see the lights of the carbon freeze test facility door vaguely through the thinning smoke and makes a dash towards it, using a communication device to request aid from the leftover B2 battle droid, the robot agrees and stands guard inside the door that just got opened by the scientist with the required access level.

Patches quick medical treatment for Jori did the job. . .he should be able to walk again, though he is still feeling dizzy and disoriented from the whole ordeal that is making its continuous play around him.

Both torpedoes are finally reloaded inside DFS-8DS and ready to obliterate any squad of clones into nothing but a unpleasant smelling mess, if it were to hit a group like that in the optimal location, the Vulture shares any useful information with the B2 droid and the other droids behind the second door to keep updated inside the chaotic room.

Patches looked over his brother. He was banged up pretty good. Several bruises and maybe a mild concussion but he'll live. Patches injected some bacta into Jori and he shuddered. "You awake?" Patches asked. Jori responded was a groggy thumbs up. "Give me a moment," he said, "The room's spinning a bit."

Patches waited by his brother providing as much over watch as he can in this smoke. Through the smoke a light showed through from the carbon freezing chamber. Using the smoke as concealment, Sneaks approached it to see the outlines of B2 Battle Droid. Doing exactly as his name suggests, he crept through the smoke until he was near then pounced on the droid. The force of a fully armored Commando leaping on top of it caused it to fall over. With wrist vibroblade extended in one hand and his DC-15s sidearm in the other, Sneaks both stabbed and shot the droid until its lights went out. If a droid could scream that was as close as it can get.

The human that runs into the room bumps against some buttons that in turn open a carbon freeze pod that he jumps behind to hide from the blaster fire, hugging his gun and trying to calm down his breath.

The first pieces of the second door break lose, some B1 battle droid's shoot through the holes straight towards the other door on the other side of the smoke wall.

DFS-8DS finally positioned itself and the torpedo cannons straight to the point where the B2 got destroyed, it fires a torpedo that just got reloaded.

RC-1025

Seeing the droids making progress, Bonkers decided he needed to take action. Replacing his anti armor attachment for his blaster one, he began firing into the various holes the droids were cutting through in an effort to slow them down. While there were droids going down, it would be hard for the starfighter to figure out the Commando's position for he made sure to be on the move to prevent himself from being shot.

When Sneaks heard the missile launch, he turned and found it almost upon him. He attempted to dive out of the way but the attempt was ultimately futile. When the missile impacted the ground Sneaks was caught in the explosion. He disappeared in the blast. The open carbon freezing room caused the smoke to start loosing its density. Enough so that Patches saw his brother get engulfed in flames. He saw a figure burst out of the smoke and land in as a sizzling black mass. Patches could see on his HUD that Sneaks' vitals were bad. Katarn armor was good stuff but taking a torpedo was a little out of its depth. He wasn't sure what compelled him but Patches knew that he needed medical attention now if he was going to live. The Commando got up and ran to his brother in need. They were born together, trained together, fought together, bleed together. Patches was perfectly fine dying together too.

The second torpedo got loaded and is ready to be used on a fleshling. Tt could be that a surviving clone runs out of the room to seek cover. . .it could also be that they were still alive and inside the room, the droid made a decision and fired the second torpedo in the middle of were the clones could be. . .so that both options are inside the blast radius.

The door finally gives up and breaks apart, sending parts of hot metal flying through the room. The droids that where behind it make way for a pair of B-2 droids to enter the bay and fire straight ahead through the dust from the exploding torpedo a mere second ago.

Seeing that the door was going to give, Bonkers took cover behind some lab equipment and switched to his anti armor attachment. When the door finally broke apart, the demolition man threw a grenade at the first tin can he saw and hid. He had a feeling that he and his brothers weren't going to get out of this one and he figured he would go out an a big blaze of glory.

While Patches ran to his brother he heard the sound of a large projectile being fired. He turned his head slightly and saw and energy torpedo heading his way. He couldn't react. The torpedo struck and the Commando was thrown into the air. He flew several feet and then landed with in a pit, the carbon freezing pit. It was a good thing Katarn Armor was tough. He lay there on the ground looking up. His vision was blurry and even with his noise cancelling helmet he could still hear some ringing in his ears. He recognize the signs. He had a concussion. Patches tried to move but it was simply too painful.

The virus scientists comes out of hiding when hearing the droids come in to kill off the remaining clones, he walks to the carbon freeze chamber control panel and looks down to see the fallen clone down in the chamber.

"Ohoho what do we have heeree. . ." He spits down on the clones armour and grins, pulling out his blaster and pointing it straight toward the head of the clone, about to fire. "Good bye, clone." But just as the human was about to pull the triger. . .he thinks of some interesting new experiments he could do with this clone, he would like to know if this one had different genetics, or if it was just better training that made this clone 'elite' "Hmm. . .maybe. . .later shall we say ? haha~" And with that, he touches the control panel to start the freezing procedure, to use the clone later when this whole ordeal has been finished and cleared up.

The grenade explodes, taking several droids with it and sending their remains across the room, but many already replaced them.

DFS-8DS stands back again against the toilet door again, waiting for the support to end the suffering of the barely alive clones.
