Private Blanket Fighting

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Naboo

Ordinarily, Vanessa Vantai would not have penetrated so deeply into hostile territory. She was, after all, not a fan of getting captured, tortured, or generally suffering a large number of horrific occurrences. This time, however, things had gone differently: Vanessa was here with her newest apprentice in an attempt to hunt down the wayward child of the Emperor, Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble , and return him to his father. Vanessa herself, of course, was not going to do a single thing to intervene. That was all her apprentice's doing.

Vanessa had taught her the basics of fighting with a lightwhip, using it as a means of instruction regarding the use of the weapon Kala was now wielding. A fuzzy blanket.

"Alright. When you see him, you know what to do. Snuggle him with the blanket and he should be stuck. We can haul him back then."

It was unorthodox, but that was exactly Kalanda's style. Holding the blanket in hand, she attempted several maneuvers with the fabric, and found it responded to her with ease. Using small nudges of the force, she found she could even alter it's direction at the whim of her choosing. It made her rather giddy to be honest, and truth be told she was looking forward to showing Amur what she had learned during her 'recovery'. Her saber still hung from her waist, and she still wore her lovely witches robes all the same, with her Dathomari saber dangling at her hip. Her vision had managed to return to normal, though despite Vanessa's prodding, any attempt to 'see normally' showed her a similar black void. Though without the anti-force bubble of whatever that demonic creature was, she found that rather than standing within the void, she could see strange tangles of force energy shooting off into the distance. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but it was very nice to look at when she was bored; though she found she could follow Vanessa's movements with this sight whenever the woman tried to make a display.

Armed with this new weapon, Kalanda nodded, eager to put herself to the test, though not entirely sure as to what was going to happen to the man she was seeking out. "What will happen to the man again Lady Vanessa? We aren't going to kill him right?" Kalanda asked, as the blanket shifted out of her hand and coiled around her neck life a scarf. She wasn't keen on killing anyone, unless they represented a threat to one lovely lady that was waiting for her back in Sith Space. Kalanda was very eager to see Amur's face again, but she felt that she owed this Darth something in return; she had saved her arm after all.

A soft breeze ran through the grass, cut off by The Bastion. Kahlil rested atop his freighter and stared up at the blue sky above. It was a day off for him. No Jedi business. No freighter business. Just a time to relax and enjoy the crisp morning air. The tall man closed his eyes as he let his guard down. Naboo was a safe place, one of the few he had found in recent times.

"Mm.. I should nap.." He mutters to himself before doing just that.

Vanessa closed her eyes and focused for a bit, considering what the next move was she needed to effectively take. She searched for the presence of the Jedi in question before determining his location within the grassy field. "No. Killing him would be extremely bad, given the Emperor wants him back alive." She thought for a bit. "Do you sense him? I do. We'll get close, then you'll go over and use the blanket to incapacitate him. Then we'll haul him off." She said. It was so incredibly simple... At least in theory.

"Oh. And be sure to put these on." Vanessa handed her a number of black rings with red outlines. "Jedi nowadays have a nasty habit of trying to Force Light themselves out of a situation involving Sith, to try and cut us off from the Force. These rings will prevent that from happening." Vanessa herself, being paranoid about losing her connection to the Force, was already wearing one on each of her main fingers with the exception of her thumb. They not only provided protection, but also formed a sort of improvised knuckleduster.

It helped knowing she wasn't going to kill anyone, but then again...the Emperor was probably going to do that. It didn't sit right with her, but maybe Miss Vanessa had other plans; just like she did with Amur. After being informed about the man's location, Kalanda gave it a try herself, reaching out with the force to pin his placement down, and found him not far ahead; though he felt rather powerful. His presence was pure, clean, and powerful; he reminded her of the waterfalls on Dathomir. If only they didn't have to fight, maybe they could just talk their differences out, but that seemed rather unlikely. "Yes Miss Vanessa, I sense him." Kalanda stated, her words carried a bit of concern, as the unspoken worries she carried leaked into her words. She wasn't a fighter, nor had she ever been, but that was why she had come here; she needed to get stronger.

As Vanessa handed her the rings, the witch looked that the objects with a degree of confusion. "I don't understand Miss Vanessa, how can he do that?" Kalanada asked, before sliding the rings onto her finger. A familiar chill crept into her system, the same cold that had taken her with the star weirds, but thi time it felt less...pleasant. It felt like she was catching a cold, but this was something a good nights rest wouldn't shake off. Flexing her fingers with the new jewelry, Kalanda scowled, inspecting the ring before looking to her master. "Miss Vanessa, can I try by myself?" Kalanda asked, her expression changing from doubt to certainty, as this would be the best chance to test herself. "I think I can take him. I'm ready." Her posture straightened, and using a bit of the force, she made a bit of a display. The blanket shifted seemingly on it's own accord, turning from a scarf into a cape; dramatically blowing into the nonexistent wind for added effect.

Kahlil slept for a couple hours under the blue sky, enjoying his nap. Or, he was supposed to. His dreams were plagued with what had happened over the past months. Screams, flashes of blood and dead bodies. Lifeless eyes. The young Jedi sat up quickly, a cold sweat forming down his spine. His gaze traveled the area he was in, scanning the grassy fields as he slowly made his way back to reality.

A sad smile forms as he pushes himself to his feet. He had a lot he needed to work through. Hopefully he could.

"Alright." She looked at Kalanda - the young Sithling wanted to have a go, and Vanessa would certainly be able to interfere if Kahlil managed to get the upper hand. She pointed towards the direction Kahlil was at. "He's that way. Go get him." She patted Kalanda on the head and waited patiently as her apprentice went off to fight a full fledged Jedi Knight and son of Kaine Zambrano with a fuzzy blanket. She went through the trouble of watching ardently

This was going to be fun.

With the blessing of her master, Kalanda smiled and would set out to meet this Kahlil. Giving a nod to Vanessa, Kalanda would trek out, the blanket would shift from being a cape into a sash, as she set her sights onto the presence she sensed in the distance. Armed with the seemingly sentient blanket and the strange rings attached to her fingers she would march to face her opponent, though how she was going to engage him, she wasn't exactly sure. It would serve as a good reminder though, that she needed to learn how to take care of herself, address her own problems, and not expect Amur to come to her rescue when everything fell apart. She had a plan of course, she was going to play to her strengths. What were those strengths? Her people skills of course! The knight might have faced Sith before, but he hadn't faced Kalanda when she was looking for friends.

As Kalanda neared the man, she opened with a rather unorthodox strategy. "Hello there!" She called out, seeing what looked like a that had a posture not befitting a young man. He trudging forth, his aura showed he was at peace, though he seemed a bit tired or worn out; perhaps she wasn't the only one pushing themselves. Waving to the man, Kalanda quickened her pace. Sure, he would sense the darkness within her, but she was willing to bet that he would strike her down for no reason. He was a good man, and good men thought before they acted, and a jedi would do it twice over. "Do you need help?" She asked as she drew nearer, a sweet smile formed across her features. Her robes parted, flowing behind her, only held together by her blanket turned sash. She was going to do this her way, even if Miss Vanessa was going to get mad.

Kahlil had just hopped off the top of his ship when he sensed someone approaching. Instinctively his hand fell to the hilt of his saber, gripping it tightly. There was a Sith, no doubt about it. From Kalanda Tishire 's own presence and the alchemized blanket. The cold sweat from his nightmare returned. Had he been found out? Was he going to have to fight? The ship wasn't ready to take off, he'd have to if he wanted to get away.

Then the unexpected thing happened. A kind voice spoke out to greet him and see if he needed.. Help? The young man let go of his saber to turn and peer curiously at the woman who arrived. She was definitely Sith. Was this some sort of trap?

"I.. No. Thank you though. .. I'm Kafh." Yeah, he wasn't going to give his name to a Sith, not yet at least. "You doing alright though? Pretty random place to show up."

Vanessa watched as Kala disappeared into the seemingly all-consuming grass, her own Force signature disappearing as she moved to watch what happened. Her hand met her face as Kala went out and immediately straight up introduced herself to Kahlil, then began to talk with him. Apparently she was trying the false sense of security approach - not Vanessa’s first choice, but perhaps it would actually work.

Well, she could hope.

Drats. He was onto her. But that was okay. She could still play this off. Looking up at his ship, Kalanda only smiled, swinging her hands back and forth as she spoke to the man in question. Being this close, she could make out the finer details in his aura, and it was rather clear that his guard was already up. He had lied to her about his name already, that hesitation and flicker in his aura? An outright lie. That was okay, she couldn't blame him. He probably spent most of his life running from the Emperor, she could only imagine how he felt. Really, she sorta pitied him. She lived that life once, she couldn't imagine someone else having to run constantly. "Well hi Mr. Kafh!" She announced, still all smiles, before she stopped the swinging about. She was never good at lying to people. Perhaps that was another reason she couldn't convince Amur to not leave her. "Well, actually no. I'm not." She sighed, her shoulders dropping as the upbeat energy she held moments before seemed to falter.

He probably didn't mean it when he asked, but it was his fault for asking, so she was going to tell him anyways. Looking up to the man, Kalanda would go into her reasons for being here. "I have someone I care about, but they can't be with me because I'm too weak. So, I came here to get strong, so that I earn her love back." She spoke sincerely now about her hearts desire, as she looked to the man. "Do you think you can help me?" It was a genuine request. One that she hoped he would hear. Maybe they could work something out, not have to fight at all. That would be rather ideal in her mind.

Vanessa continued to watch, a smile on her face as Kahlil further opened up. Kalanda was doing a surprising job of pacifying him in preparation for the moment she would strike. Hopefully it would be precisely what she had wanted, though deep down she wholly expected everything was going to go completely haywire and this attempt to capture the Emperor's wayward son would end in issues.

Well, at least she would have tried.

Seeing the man seemed willing to listen, Kalanda took her blanket and set it on the ground, then sat atop it. She laid back on her hands, looking up to the knight as her smile returned, though it had certainly dimmed. 'I'm sorry'. That's what Amur had said, as she walked away, being torn asunder by the waves of emotions that swirled within her. Amur was suffering alone now, her Sith code had kept her from expressing her feelings with Kalanda. It was her weakness that had cost her that relationship, or at the very least put it in serious jeopardy. But how could she get stronger? What did it mean to be strong? Her mother had taught her strength came from cruelty and being selfish, but clearly that couldn't be the case. Amur was strong, but she wasn't cruel, nor selfish. Where would this power come from? These were the questions that sat at the back of Kalanda's mind as she tried to sum up what to say to the jedi knight.

After musing for a moment, Kalanda would speak. "I'm in love with another woman. I just...I think she is scared of being with me because I'm not strong, I'm not Sith like her. I feel like I make her happy, make her not have to do the bad things she has done with the Empire, but I don't know how to be strong. I thought it just meant smiling when it hurts, finding the light in the darkness, and pushing on through. But that wasn't enough for her." She sighed, her hand fixing her hair as she tried to think what else to say. She never talked about these sorts of things before. "It's like, I....I don't want to fall, I don't want to end up cruel and horrible like my mother, but I want this woman in my life. She...makes me feel whole, and I think I do the same for her. So I guess my question to you Mr. Kafh, is this," Kalanda bit her lip, looking down to the ground, then looked back up to him. Her words were truthful, her intent sincere. Her mind had drifted away from the idea of capturing the jedi for the time being. She wanted to see if he had any insight, another prospective; after all, doctors asked questions when they didn't know what they were dealing with. "How do I get stronger, without turning into a monster?"
