Blades For Anoran Days [Anora/Seskel Training]

The progress of Anora Vahn and Seskel Sangrey had been a bit slower then he would like, but that was alright. He wasn't too stressed, for students grew and improved at their own pace. Regardless, he had called Anora and Seskel in for a combat training session, something that he specialized in. The Jedi Master had called them to Voss, and in the training room he sat, cross-legged as he awaited their appearance.

Both of them needed a fair amount of work, but that was alright. He knew they would get there in time if they kept working hard. Hopefully they would be ready for another mission before too long.

Things had been going so well, or so she had originally thought. She had been getting things done, doing what she needed, moving along well, and then? She couldn't even remember what had happened. She didn't even remember getting hurt. But it happened, and it had kept her from advancing any further, so the pain had not only been physical but emotional too. Devastating in a way that she hadn't expected to feel, but she had. So she was behind, again.

But, she was healed now, and she had been called for training once again. She didn't take her time, she hurried along though when she got there she had to steady herself with a slow, deep breath. And then she made her way in to where the Master was waiting - again - only to stop some feet away and take her stance while she waited for whatever was going to go on today.

Seskel sighs as he throws his final thoughts out of his mind. He had strayed away from the group, and began a decent into darkness. Thoughts of murder and war, raging through his mind with no intent on stopping.

His master found him at just about the right time. There was too much darkness clouding his mind, too much evil. And his master pulled his mind back to where it belonged. With a sigh, he walks into the room, nodding to Anora before getting into stance, waiting for what came next.

Both Anora and Seskel needed work, but it was alright... He was patient. As they would appear, the Jedi Master would rise and turn to face them.

"Combat... Combat is something you two know, but have not mastered. This is okay" He would remark. "Some of you have found trouble in combat... Others... Have found trouble controlling themselves. This too, is okay... We will improve on your strengths... And overcome your weaknesses."

He would pace throughout the room, commanding their attention as he spoke.

"Today, we will be using training lightsabers to practice... We will go over the form... Makashi. The Makashi form is suited for lightsaber against lightsaber combat. You will come at me, at the same time... Using your training sabers. But I don't want you to just fight with me" He would remark.

"I want you to watch my movements... I will drop into the Makashi stance. I will use the movements of the Makashi style... I want you to observe, as well as to fight. I want you to not only survive... But learn.

Any questions?"

Trouble in combat was an understatement, and it took Anora a great deal of effort to keep from shifting uncomfortably because of the mention. While she didn't have a clue about the 'controlling themselves' part, she could only guess that had something to do with Seskel and was therefore none of her business. That didn't keep her from being curious, but she kept her focus right where it needed to be for the time being.

She had fallen behind because of this stupid injury business, and now she had a lot to make up for. Did it frustrate her? Yes, of course it did. Was it going to stop her? Absolutely not. If there was anything that could be said about her, she was most definitely determined despite the trouble she kept running into.

So when asked if there were any questions? She shook her head in reply. "No Master." not from her, at least.

"No, master." Seskel says. A small hint of anger filled him as he had mentioned Seskel's huge fuck-up. But it slowly faded away. He wasn't proud of what he did. At all, but it was his own fault for letting his mind be molded to that of a Sith.

His stance was tall and confident, but inside he was not as such. He was afraid. Afraid that if he gets too out of hand, what will happen.

He glances at An or a for a moment before looking back to their master, a strand of blonde hair falling down to his face.

The Jedi Master would slowly nod his head, letting out a slow, deep exhale. It was sign, in that, to remain calm. A subtle little lesson for them to both remain calm and not let their emotions play too heavily in their actions if they could help it. With that, he would hold out a hand and two training lightsabers would fly from the rack and into his hands, which he would then throw to them. Both lightsabers were permanently set to low power and would only sting and leave welts if they hit. There would be no loss of limbs, or serious wounds... These were for training, after all.

And with that, he would motion for them to activate their blades, before activating his own. The brilliant blue blade hummed as he would take the Makashi stance, and instruct them to follow suit...

When the master let out his exhale, Anora took a deep, steadying breath to ease herself and her nerves. There was still that little nagging voice in the back of her head that continued to tell her she would only end up wounded again. That something would happen and she would fail. But, she was here. She had gotten right back up and dusted herself off - metaphorically - and now she was standing here to go through whatever training was necessary to get back to where she needed to be.

So when a training lightsaber was tossed her way, she caught it and ignited it. There was no showboating with it, and when she was given instruction, she followed suit. She had to take one more steadying breath to help dull the loud thudding of her pulse in her ears, but once it quieted she was ready.

Seskel himself was not nervous at all about the training. It was the thought of what could happen to him after he was taught all that he could be taught. Would he stray back to the dark side? No. That was done. His father would be extremely disappointed in him if he learned the ways of the force and used them for evil. He exhales slowly through his nose and closes his eyes, getting a feel for his surroundings. As horrible as it sounds. The Siths taught him well in combat, but he went back to the light before he could finish.

He could sense his surroundings. He mapped them out with a little bit of trouble, but he got it done. He opened his eyes again and looks to his master, following suit as commanded.

What followed next was going to be quick and unexpected...

But he was ready.

He appeared to be relaxed about the whole thing as he watched his Padawans mimic his stance. Once he was satisfied, he would begin to move his lightsaber about slowly, showing motions of how to swing while using the Makashi style. Of course they could stylize this in any way that made them comfortable but this was the basic way to use Makashi. Josh generally liked to used his longer arms to his advantage for a longer reach in the Makashi style, to keep his opponent's saber as far from his own body as possible, but for now he kept to the normal method instead of the way he'd tailored for himself.

Once they would show they could get the movements down, he would return back to the Makashi stance...

"You will both attack me at once, using the same type of swings I just showed you. Practice makes perfect. What I have taught you will be useless if you do not learn to use it in combat.

Proceed."

She had to watch first; watch the way their master moved. How his saber was balanced, how his footwork was, the shift and flow of his body. There was merely a moment or two of watching - though she kept her stance, thank you very much - before she was comfortable enough to mimic the movements. It was by no means perfect of course, but there was a fluidity to Anora that granted her the ability to move without falling on her face when trying new things, and boy was she thankful for that now.

When Josh had retaken his stance to speak, Anora was still moving, working her way through the movements shown again and again, though she had heard what she had been told perfectly well. So when told to proceed, she shifted herself around enough to give Seskel a quick look before doing as instructed and taking these new, still unfamiliar moves and using them on their Master.
