Private Blade to Blade

Roon
Midday
Enclave, some courtyard
Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur

It felt odd...being so close to the cis...yet here she was. Standing within a court yard as mandalorians passed by, it reminded her dearly of the golden days in which the mandos called Mandalore their home, those day now long past she had to look forward. One way she found some peace in her chaotic life was passing on knowledge to the next or simply helping others improved their skills

This wasn't a normal class however, she did not advertised nor announce it, she was simply practicing moves with her sith blade known as nova. The blade moved fluidly through the air, a extension of herself as she thrusted and spun about fighting a involve opponent, soon however she stopped as she let a breath out and sheathed the blade as she grabbed some water and took a seat

You know there was an old galatic saying that you could not teach an older dog new tricks. The utter nonesense of that message would be widely ignored by the veteran. Walking forward in his newly made beskargam, Torrack was here to get better. Speaking through his crusader like helmet, the gamorean would approach the well disciplined sword user.

"I am looking to get sodding better, squeak squeak you up for sparing?"

To be a Rally Master, you can only lead well if you could fight well. Mandalorians do not follow a sissy, and while being far from one, to be a good warrior of the mandode he had to improve. While both came from different clan's, both were mandalorian and both were of the same creed. The dueling arena was wide enough for the two to practice should Stardust accept the chance at a spare.

She didn't need to look up to know someone was approaching, however once they grew close she sat up a but and stared into that T visor. Her eyes reflected years of war, a few scars could be seen in her face as she stood up slowly and popped her neck

indeed, it would be better then fighting some invisible opponent

Yawning a little she rolled her shoulders and walked past him towards the far end but stopped halfway

don't expect me to hold back either, I will fight you with all I have

She turned to face him, sword not even drawn just yet

You would think that being so tall would help Dirk not get bantha poodooing lost, especially on a Confederate planet with all their sparkling maps pooling with purple hues. Unfortunately, Roon was a maze of buildings and it didn't help that the buildings themselves were as closely conforming as the Mandalorians that walked its streets. Sure armor colors could change and maybe the helmet would be some past or current variant, but everyone was wearing beskar with their helmets on for the most part. It was hard landmarking a particular zone when the only signs were in Mando'a, and the zone wasn't particularly welcoming to strangers with "you are here" maps and friendly faces to ask directions for.

He tried of course, but he was shot down with a cold stoic gaze behind a literal steely helmet. Tough luck he garnered.

Wandering the streets, he found himself in some courtyard with Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae and Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur in the beginning phases of sparing off. A green Twi'lek with no helmet and another helmet boy. Finally, someone he could see the face of.

Although he desperately wanted to ask for directions to the nearest starport to get off this weary rock, it would be rude of Dirk to interrupt their prior engagements and so he simply stared at the soon to be spectacle or interesting bout.

The Gamorean would grin underneath his bucye, there was no way to get better if she held back. There was no mistaking who this individual was either, this Stardust Solus, the famed Emerald Dragon. Wielding his Breshig War Forge Consolidated B-01M Beskad, the combatant was ready to face off the famed Mandalorian. The Rally Master took a basic stance, but it was obvious he was nowhere near the elite duelist she was. To make sure this would be a good spare, the energy component of the beskad was shut off. A spare is to learn, not to injure one another to the point of uselessness.

"OYA! SQUEAK SQUEAK"

Torrack exclaimed, fearless and with heart he would go as fast as his heavy beskargam would allow him. Like a fearsome rancor of dathomir he would swing his beskad from his right hip leftwards, towards his opponent. Gamoreans were slower, but are considered in the top five strongest races in the galaxy meaning this would be a harsh hit should it land.

The sparing match would begin! Despite this however, the crusader would take a mental note of the newcomer watching the pair start.

Her stance was relaxed, eyes stared back as she simply placed her hand on the hilt and stood straight as she took a breath in. Once he came charging stardust watching the hulking mass of beskar making its way towards her. A hit from him would massively do some damage even to her enhanced body, so instead she would use her speed to the advantage for this battle, as he grew closer stardust side stepped and twisted around his strike and pushed him forward hoping to make him fall over

amazing strength! Reminds me of a rancor I fought one time, but sadly a strike that was predictable, don't strike until you know your close enough

She would teach him and spar with him, finally ready now she drew her sith sword as the long blade seemed to reflect little light off its black surface

come at me again, get creative!

She sixes at the ground, leaving a gouge and throwing spark up as a almost wicked grin formed

entertain this dragon, rancor

She was aware of someone watching, so she would ensure this went on long enough for a good show

The power imbalances at play made the fight intriguing as Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae started by employing her skill to counteract Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur larger frame and strength. Sure she was faster than the Gamorrean, but dodging a full-strength blow required a level of body coordination and training that by far surpassed a novice.

The choice of weaponry on both sides was equally contrarian as well, as beskad and the sith sword were polar opposites in terms of design and usage. The beskad was large and heavy, suited for slashing blows that built off of swinging strength and momentum the user could wield. On the other hand, the sith sword was long, longer than the beskad itself but had a significantly narrower profile that allowed for user to more effectively and quickly exploit weaknesses, blind spots and opportunities.

He suspected that a direct confrontation between the Gamorrean's beskad and the Twi'lek's sith sword would result in a broken arm and perhaps at the extreme a chopped off limb. The sheer weight and momentum of the beskad would quickly break through any physical resistance the Twi'lek could put up, and even if she managed to deflect the blow it would heavily drain her stamina. So, Dirk predicted that the Twi'lek would continue to avoid the blade altogether or deflect the beskad with her own sword, pushing the momentum away from her body. That would of course require a high level of finesse but her opening moves suggested she was more than capable of pulling them off.

And so, assuming neither side had the hijinks of the Force and its physics-defying effects, it would boil down into a war of attrition. If the Twi'lek managed to chip away at the Gamorrean or land a fast lethal strike in the midst of her dodges, she would be victorious. On the other hand, if the Gamorrean focused on wearing down the Twi'lek and bursting out with a final frenzy of attacks, or perhaps gambling on the fact that his endurance would last longer than the Twi'lek's in a fierce and relentless assault, he could win. Not with much grace, but this was a Gamorrean at play.

In the end, both sides have ample chances to win and the result would only be determined by who made the right plays and judgement calls during the fight. It would be interesting to see what strategy they chose: if he was in the position of the Gamorrean, whose physique was more similar to his own, he would play defensively and wait for the ideal opportunity when the Twi'lek's guard was down or if she was tired out to burst out with the remainder of his strength and endurance in a last-ditch assault. Not the prettiest way to win, but the Gamorrean's heavy armor would be able to tank any glancing strikes and the large profile of the beskar would help him cover his blind spots more easily.

Blast, the strike was thwarted with ease by the master duelist! Not only was his attack thwarted, now the spar was about to get real between the two as the intensity was about to rise. The conflict would be characterized as the underdog versus the likely winner of this sparring session named Stardust. However, the Beskargam that the combatant wore was built for these kind of engagements. The design being that of the Mandalorian Neo Crusaders of old, known for being able to take massive amounts of direct blows and punishment.

Having beskar plating and a new addition added to the design of a under layer of athletic fabric, this armor was built for long term combat. Having very high resistance to lightsabers, melee weapons, energy weapons, ranged weapons and kinetic force of any kind. However the drawback was the amount of joints the armor had, should Stardust be aware of this design weakness.

Regardless, the Mandalorian would certainly have a reason to be comfortable attacking his opponent head on. Especially with how stubborn he got when the blood began flowing. However this was a spar and continuing to do the same thing over and over would be stupid. Moving in a tight and uncomfortable motion, he would attempt an overhead faint downward before switching to a swing leftwards towards the right shoulder of the green skinned female. It was obvious the problem that this novice faced, the pig faced being was tense, this usually caused by the lack of proper breathing techniques. The small audience that consisted of the newcomer could probably see this in real time.

Despite this bad form, it was obvious the blow would yet again if landed would be harsh. Torrack always solved problems and conflicts with pure aggression, his attempt at attacking his opponent would show the fierce heart he had. Few had the ferocious disposition that this blue armored warrior had, the steps, the demeanor, and the fearlessness. It was like a rancor chasing it's meal, aggression like this is hard to hone but once taught how to properly use, was dangerous.

This set of armor wasn't her beskar, rather it was phrik armor, made to be able to be used in any type of situation fitting the needs of the super soldier, be it from close combat to space battles it was as capable as the warrior before the massive mandalorian

She took her stance finally, adopting a rather open posture yet her eyes narrowed to watch his every move as well she noted the amount of joints that armor had and knew that would be used to her advantage. She watched that blade rise and saw it was rather uncomfortable, this also told her that he was bluffing as that attack while yes deadly still wouldn't be effective against her, sword raised up to block the strike from the right as it moved her a little as she smirked

you've got a antique i like, but your sloppy, indeed when you said you wanted to get fething better you meant it...now my turn

She pushed off his beskad, blade moving fluidly as she went to strike at his left elbow where a joint would be

Despite not being able to directly block, blade to blade, and despite having the stereotype of being stupid as most Gamoreans. Torrack would by dumb luck block the attack by intercepting the strike with his forearm beskar plate . Moving the blade downward and away from, the intended target such thinking was certainly a step in the right direction but was unlikely to be a successful defense a second time.

The strike would make a loud "CLANG!" , as the instrument that Stardust was using would make contact with the thick forearm plating that stopped this attack. While the two of them knew that this was luck rather then skill. To the outside it may look like it was intended, certainly what was brewing would start to be a show for the onlooking being watching the two.

The comment about the armor being an antique would certainly be addressed while the two were squared off. While repositioning himself, as his instincts would tell him to he would speak clearly to his opponent. "It is not an antique, its newly forged. squeak squeak" taking a breath after speaking, he would hold his beskad again. It would be held in a high guard preparing for the onslaught of the much quicker opponent, his eyes now intensly looking through the T-Visor that protected his boar like head.

There was just not enough time to strike back, which gave his opponent the advantage in the sparring session.Luck would not save him a second time from one of the master duelist's attacks.

Despite not being overtly familiar with swordmanship, Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur had a good grasp on the intuition of how to proceed in fights. The individual's level of perception and subsequent decision making were crucial in duels and even more so in a battlefield. Dirk could clearly see that with practice to reinforce muscle memory with smoother and faster strikes would make the Gamorrean an extremely formidable foe.

His armor was definitely of classical style, aimed at protecting in massive forays between two factions and most crtically, protecting the user from blaster fire. This left the joints less defended and sometimes openly exposed, although his last instinct to block with the armor plates could be refined into a defensive art of its own. Perhaps a decision to add additional armor plating or a small buckler-like forearm shield to enhance his dueling prowess. That being said, dueling was a unique situation that was rare in everyday settings and situations so perhaps a personal shield generator would be more fitting. It would also add additional protection for his joints, albeit shields provided far less resistance toward lightsabers and phrik blades than any sort of armor.

Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae was fluid and precise with her strikes, although Dirk felt that she was holding back to make the fight more even. She could have probably landed a lethal strike with some fancy maneuvering and footwork to skirt around the Gamorrean or danced in and out of the Gamorrean's range accompanied with random and fierce strikes.

He was surprised to see this level of combat on his random incursion and was pleasantly surprised, learning more through his observations.

He got really lucky, her blade was caught by his thick forearm planting making the sound of beskar against phrik echo out through the court yard as she slid back and grinned

the design is antique, but it fits you perfectly and I've considered jt myself for my lekku

She started slowly walking around him, looking to see where she could strike which was to say plenty but she wanted a fair strike not a dirty one

your firm needs work, your breathing is restricted find a breathing pattern that allows more oxygen. Get that oxygen to your brain allow it to better process everything

She stopped in front of him again, this time however she brace and rushed forward at a rapid pace, sword swing up from the right to his left knee joint

There was no way that the Australis would be able to counter the blow, as a result he would attempt to make his own strike. Sometimes to inflict pain you gotta , take pain, Striking frim a high guard, the gamorean would go for the exposed right hip of stardust. Such an action would hopefully gather a successful hit, tho the hit the green boar was about to take would certainly cause him to fall forward.

"CLANG!" the noise made as the strike hit the knee joint of the Mandalorian, by the manda did it hurt! The cut was deep enough to create a limp for the remainder of the duel. Despite this, there was no quit in the eyes that looked through the T-Visor. The pain was immense, but looking at Torrack no one could tell he was in any sharp pain from the wound. While usually fighting with his repeater, and with this being his first real action in his new custom beskargam. It was obvious he was out of his element, but for whatever reason there was no giving up in the crusader.

Had Stardust attempted to attack the knee straight onwards, the frontal knee beskar plating would have protected him. But to the credit of the super soldier, she decided to attack the side where the knee joint was. Such mastery, such precision, was respectable to say the least. The question remained on whether he would land his attack while she went for it. If the blow missed, this would be a sodding blowout in terms of live sparring sessions like this.

A mandalorian super soldier versus, a brutish mandalorian rally master. The Gamorean certainly was following the positive stereotype of how strong his race was, but the emerald dragon matched her reputation as a deadly duelist. Perhaps she would be interested in teaching the warthog more, even if it were just a few tips here and there.

As the blow landed on the Mandalorian's knee, Dirk winced as he knew it was going to be extremely painful proceeding with the rest of the fight. He would have to constantly put pressure and weight on the knee, leading to potential further damage and intense bouts of pain. Although Dirk was trained as a soldier in close quarters combat, most of his fighting was done impersonally, his blaster often dealing with most foes and thus, limiting his experience being diced up. And when he was sliced with vibroblades that vivisected parts of his body he rather keep attached than dangling on a few tendons, he absolutely abhorred the experience.

For a normal duel, it definitely seemed closer to a true battle than just training. While Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae remained informative through the whole process, he could not help but think that she was being particularly savage as most would resort to hitting their student with a blunt edge and calling the match over.

Yet Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur seemed to have no intentions of conceding or stopping the fight, swinging his beskar at the Twi'lek. Hopefully there would be a medic nearby to fix the damages.

She ensured the cut wasnt deep nor lethal, mandalorians by nature were brutal and their ways of training matched that, stardust would ensure he could see where each strike could end or disable him from fighting anymore...some might call this cruel and unusual but to stardust this was more direct and easier to get into the head of this one

that leg is cut off! You don't have your knees angled to block where I strike!

Luck was on his side, star barely noticed the beskad swing for her right side, however a smirk played over her face as she switched her sword to her left hand ans with her right she let the blade hit it and get caught by the prosthetic limb, it did however damage it a bit and put it out of action as she grinned

I think this duel is over

With the last bit of energy left it the arm she pushed off and slid back away to not likely be crushed by his form

The sparring match itself was over, there was no way for them to continue after the leg was cut masterfully by the Emerald Dragon. While he had spirit, his form was wack and breathing was off. Struggling and panting to get up, he would barely stand before falling down from the wound inflicted. How would the gamorean improve his footing, and breathing? Squeaking and hoinking , it was obvious of the frustration the prideful crusader had felt. While the lessons were certainly valuable, it was obvious that he would need more pointers on how to improve these things.

However, as is tradition in Mandalorian sparing , after the duel it is customary to respect an opponent afterwards. "You beat me, hoink hoink you truly have a good reputation. I would be honored , squeak squeak to learn from you." , right now the pain was up there.

But, mandalorians were tough and were good pushing through such problems. The mercenary and loyalist of the enclave had met a powerful friend and ally, it was likely they would be working together in the future. Likely to bring glory , and dignity back to the clans now suffering hardships because of the sith.

These were dark times, and in these dark times for the mandode , it was good to have a teacher. The one lesson that permeated throughout the head of the green skinned warrior , was that luck can only get a combatant so far. Eventually luck runs out, while toughness and guts were great, skill is what would be needed to become truly great. Torrack has always wanted to be a great warrior, with Stardust's training he would eventually be able to fight with the might of a rancor. Medical staff would make way to heal the wounds of the Rally Master, while being treated he would take off his bucye.

Now upright with help from the medical staff, the student would introduce himself. Now without a Bucye, it was obvious this was a gamorean boar, with horns and a solidly built jawline. The pig snout would now begin to speak, "I am Torrack Australis, squeak squeak you just kicked my sodding ass . Hoink Hoink." . Now that introductions were done, the fists of the crude being would be held out, offering a handshake.

Seeing medical staff arriving promptly, Dirk was relieved to see them doing a good job patching up Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur 's wound. As the Gamorrean introduced himself to Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae , he could not help but feel a vague sense of overstaying his welcome. He came to seek directions but ultimately witnessed a duel between a master and their potential student. Some masters were sensitive about being observed and having others know of their skills, so Dirk felt a bit awkward in directly walking up and intruding on the moment.

Debating whether or not to leave, he shuffled a little closer to the Twi'lek and Gamorrean, waiting for a natural pause in their conversation to ruin the serious mood and ask for directions. Dirk felt a bit stupid for even being in the situation in the first place and now felt dumber for not saying anything sooner.

Looking at his own armor, he hoped he wasn't mistaken for a potential student as his fighting skills were limited to brawling and close quarters combat, and Dirk really had no intention of being beaten up on his day off.

Stardust stared him down, watching as he tried to get up and yet he only fell down, letting a breath out she calmed herself from that battlemind and spoke

you have potential, to leave such potential untrained would be a foolish thing on my part

Medics tried to come to her, yet she waved them off as she had no wounds in her, the cybernetic arm she could easily go to her ship and fix or even have another ordered...hence why she used it to block his attack

There was no surprise when she saw the face of Torrack Torrackstur Torrack Torrackstur , instead now she had a better idea of how she could teach him effectively

what can I do for you?
