Technical Specifications
- Classification: Lightsaber
- Size: Large
- Weight: Average
- Double-handed hilt and extra long blade.
- Square-hilt Mandalorian design (similiar to the Darksaber design).
Bonds with the user on a spiritual level.
Grows in strength as the user advances in experience/age.
Tied neither to the dark or light side of the Force, thus alignment is of no consequence.
- Tied to the Manda/Nether the crystal enables the user to call upon their ancestors, directly. This requires meditation/prayer prior to battle in order to commune with their ancestors prior to the fight.
Creates a larger, wider blade making it easier to deflect blaster bolts, in exotic weapons the crystal creates a sharper or smoother edge depending on weapon design.
Having communed with their ancestors, the users of the crystal develop a type of sixth sense over a long period of time. Knowing when and where an enemy’s blade may strike a moment before it does so.
The Srabus also allows the user to seek guidance from their ancestors at least once per day.
As payment for use, users of the Srabus are marked with ancestral tattoos that link them to the Manda/Nether. Eventually, this payment will be with their soul upon death.
Tattoos may act as gateways for the ancestors allowing temporary/brief possession if the ancestor feels it is necessary. When/If this does occur the user is then transported to the Manda/Nether. [Possession is up to two posts maximum.]
Chant of the Ancestors, the user of the Srabus can at times hear the chants of their ancestors and are often compelled to join them. It is said the closer to death one is, the louder this chant is. It is sometimes referred to as; the Calling.
Strengths
- Wider Blade: Creates a wider, larger blade for more effective deflection of blaster bolts.
- Longer Blade: Creates a longer blade that gives extra reach and is exceptional for defensive fighting.
- Ancestral Ties: Allows the user to seek aid and guidance from their ancestors both in and out of battle. It also allows them to develop a sixth sense of knowing when and where a blade may strike. [This ability can be used once per thread.]
- Different Source: Unlike most crystals who are in some way tied to the Force. Srabus is tied to the Manda/Nether and thus alignment does not affect it.
- Bonded: The crystal bonds to the user on a spiritual level carving ancestral tattoos the longer it is used, tying the user to their past permanently.
- Do not use in Enclosed Spaces: The longer blade cannot be wielded in even medium indoor spaces effectively. Although it can be quite effective in straight lines.
- Keep Both Hands on the Weapon: This blade simply cannot be used one handed with any effectiveness.
- Bonded: Because the crystal is bonded, it will not activate for any other person and will crumble upon the user’s death.
- Ancestral Tattoos: These tattoos burn with a holy/unholy fire (depending on the ancestor), and may occur each time the ancestors are sought out. Every ancestor has the option of marking the user’s body linking themselves permanently to each other. These tattoos may act as windows allowing for temporary possession if the ancestor feels it is necessary. [Should possession occur, the user will find themselves in the Manda/Nether until the possession has ended.]
- Manda/Nether: The user’s soul has been claimed by the Manda/Nether and often their sleep is restless. They witness the adversity, and atrocities that their ancestors lived in their dreams. There are even times when they sit so still, they’ll swear that they can feel the ancestors beside them. Perhaps they’re going crazy, or perhaps it is the calling manifesting itself? The user isn’t sure, and won’t be sure until they shake from their trance.
- Synchronized: Users are susceptible to becoming lost in the echoes of their forebearers past. Example, one minute you're fighting Jedi on Dantooine, next you're reliving the ambush that ended the true Mandalorians. Users have essentially become too synchronized, and must spend time away from the crystal/weapon in question. A day or so, perhaps more depending on the strength of the 'episode.'
- The Chant: It starts as a soft chant in the back of the user’s mind. As the user gains in experience and age, the louder it may become and it is most certainly loudest when the user is near death. It is very difficult to ignore, and even harder to resist for the voices of your ancestors call you home. Call you to rest among them, it is sometimes referred to as the Calling. Every great warrior must one day heed its tune.
The lightsaber made by Shia Kryze after her wife, Mishel, gifted her with a crystal inspired and created by the Mandalorian tie to the Oversoul / Nether.
Shia found that the blade was best designed in a fashion mirroring that of the Darksaber - she does not know if this is her own prejudice, or simply something related to Mandalorian culture she has yet to understand, lost in the mysteries of the path.
The blade emits a steel blue - white blade, almost like a shard of ghost-light given form in the world, with the characteristic tapering blade of Mandalorian design although unlike the shorter Darksaber, this blade is long and wide, a weapon built to defend family and culture. This should not for a moment be taken to mean the blade is used for peaceful purposes - to a Mandalorian, protecting your own means killing your enemies. The blade seems to almost sing with an eerie noise when wielded, as if some hidden chorus of angels or ghosts were giving voice to its motions and not a conventional emitter array (although inspection will in fact reveal an custom emitter producing this effect, apparently a side effect of the crystal's unique requirements).
