Character
Kattada, an ocean world with lush beaches, Damian loved it. Previously he helped Kyra here convalesce after her rather unpleasant injury. That of course was stating, if not understating, it lightly. Still the planet was pleasant enough and Damian saw potential. With a little funding, some pulled permits, and dealings with a rather obnoxious bureaucrat, he’d begun construction.
For whatever reason Damian was always attracted to the sea, the oceans, the lakes and ponds, and even swamps of the galaxy be they called fen or marsh. It was water that drew him. And of course Coren was setting up a little solar station of some sort. Damian couldn’t let that stand.
The station itself was a thousand meters underwater, sitting at the edge of a dormant volcano. Struts held it up over the ground and over the near molten lava. The geothermal tap station, or rather seven of them, were arranged around the various volcanic vents and helping to relieve pressure and stabilize the area. The power produced was enough to power a small continent when done right.
Yes, the geothermal power plant was operating at full capacity and was impressive however that wasn’t all he put down on the oceans bottom. A full research facility with enough habitation to qualify it as a small settlement had been constructed as well. Oceonographers, biologists, geologists and any other sort of high IQ boy would be able to find space under the surface to ply their trade and test their theories with room for a small general store, and even space and facilities for family. The Chase Waters Aquatic research Station would be a small wonder in the world of science.
Of course this was the serious side of the facility. Even further down the pipe, literally there was a pipe connecting several of the various facility sections, was something else, a full visitor center with entertainment and amusements for the whole family. The concept was the frivolous would help fund the serious, and after Damians ‘acquisition’ of Brightstar Entertainment Group there was plenty of frivolity in his life.
Of course no one had moved in yet, only a small skeleton crew finishing up construction and a few guests for a soft opening were in the visitors area.
Damian was in the recreation section, a series of gyms, theaters, and other like intended facilities including a proper pool, giving the place a final inspection. It was the sort of thing you did when you were close to opening suddenly getting more personally involved.
Damians eyebrow quirked looking to his side. Brooke Waters, an apt name, was with him. When he’d asked if anyone wanted to come it was for relaxation and educational purposes, not to be a spy for his ‘Uncle’ Coren. Of course it shouldn’t have surprised him that she was here, she was after all a one time employee of Brightstar, probably one of the people that kept the company afloat under Marek.
Maybe putting her name on the facility wasn’t the best idea.
“So what do you think?” he asked turning to the woman.
