  • Affiliation: Imperial Commonwealth of Dosuun
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: CCA-BVPSS-X1
  • Modularity: Yes
  • Production: Limited
  • Material:
    • Duravlex Plating: Shock-resistant, EMI-shielded plating for sensitive internal hardware casings.
    • Thermoguard Insulaplast: Protects critical subsystems from internal heat and ion feedback generated during active decryption bursts or signal injection operations.
    • Neuranium-Laced Data Conduits: Used in key junctions to provide signal dampening, reducing the chance of enemy signal triangulation or emissions bleed.
    • Voidweave Membranes: Lines Whispercell nodes and Vox Needle clusters to reduce their passive sensor signature during silent operations.
    • Helion Data Core Matrix (Submission Link): Core processing system enabling Black Vigil's deep packet analysis and cryptographic branching logic.
    • Quantum-Threaded Cabling: Supports high-speed processing between CLAS and NIOD relay points with layered insulation for nullspace resiliency.
    • Tungsten-Alloy Mounts: Secure system integration into starship bulkheads or NIOD pits, capable of resisting vibration from shipboard weapons discharge.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • [WHISPERCELL MODULES]
    • Vox Needle: Legacy data-injection spike used to embed false tactical data or ghost comms in enemy relays
      • Origin: Recovered tech from Sith-Imperial encryption battlespace
      • Usage: Real-time counter-narrative injection or targeting confusion during fleet engagements
    • Tachwave Reader: Interprets residual burst-ping patterns from long-range or stealth comms traffic
      • Reads compressed harmonic echoes and extrapolates transmission paths or shadow-ping intervals
      • Useful for tracing encrypted battlefield orders or detecting “silent fleets” ahead of arrival
  • [CLAS MODIFIERS]
    • Lingua-Z Patch: Decodes non-linear or glyph-based languages, including Force-user encryption, dead dialects, or evolved logics
      • Supports parsing of Sith runic overlays, neo-Muun financial ciphers, and alien codeforms
      • Integration: Appears as a parsing filter option on CLAS terminals or during auto-decode sequences
    • Nullspace Buffer Stack: Allows continuous CLAS operation and fleet synchronization even during IFF blackout, deep shadow, or hyperspace communication voids
      • Stores packet trails and reconstructs command synchronization using timestamp extrapolation
      • Prevents signal collapse when Whispercell is in passive/stealth mode
  • [NIOD ENHANCEMENTS]
    • Red Cell Predictive Layer: AI-assisted module installed in the Red Cell briefing pit to simulate possible enemy signal architecture based on previous CLAS intercepts
      • Capable of generating mock enemy comm chains to test decryption strategies
      • Can simulate battlefield misinfo drills and red team threat actors
    • Operator Sync Link: Allows Whispercell agents and NIOD operators to work in tandem via encrypted HUDs and direct-feedback helmets
      • Increases response time between signal capture and decryption
      • Especially effective in boarding scenarios or during undercover uplink capture missions
STRENGTHS
  • Silent Operations: Enables SIGINT vessels to function during IFF blackouts or comms silence without losing tactical synchronization or encryption integrity.
  • Misinformation Injection: The Vox Needle allows real-time insertion of false data into enemy comm relays, ideal for deception campaigns and fleet misdirection.
  • Advanced Decryption: Lingua-Z Patch and Tachwave Reader significantly boost CLAS’s ability to interpret alien, dead, or burst-encrypted signals that would typically require external AI intervention.
  • Operator Synchronization: Enhances team coordination between Whispercell operators and onboard analysts through HUD-linked tactical uplinks.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Draw Under Load: Running all modules concurrently (e.g., Vox Needle, Red Cell simulation, and buffer stacks) can strain shipboard auxiliary cores or require Trinity Blackwake activation.
  • No Offensive Capability: Provides no kinetic or electronic attack capacity beyond misinformation or sensor spoofing — relies on fleet elements to act on intelligence.
  • Susceptible to Internal Breach: If the Red Cell predictive layer is accessed by hostile slicers or malware, simulated enemy profiles may be misused or weaponized.
DESCRIPTION
The Black Vigil Protocol Stack was developed by the Imperial Commonwealth’s Naval Intelligence Directorate to unify and enhance the analytical capacity of tactical SIGINT vessels like the Fortan-class. As the Commonwealth shifted away from brute-force naval doctrine toward precision-led campaigns, the need for real-time decryption, silent operation, and battlefield misdirection gave rise to this modular system suite. The Protocol Stack is not a standalone system but an advanced software and hardware extension for ships already equipped with CLAS, Whispercell, and a NIOD (Naval Intelligence Operations Deck).

Key to the system is the Nullspace Buffer Stack, which enables ships to continue coordinating tactical relays and CLAS decryption even when operating in comms blackout, hyperlane drift, or under stealth protocols. This pairs with the Vox Needle, a Cold War–era Sith-Imperial relic retooled for Commonwealth misinformation ops, allowing false signals to be injected into enemy comm streams to reroute or mislead their forces.

The Stack’s utility is defensive, deceptive, and surgical. It allows a tactical support vessel to simulate enemy traffic, decode long-range burst pings with the Tachwave Reader, and translate complex encryption dialects with the Lingua-Z Patch. But its strength is not in isolation — the Black Vigil Protocol Stack excels when the fleet listens to it, acts on it, and trusts it.

In practice, it serves as the brains of the ghost fleet, working best when embedded with strike groups or positioned behind the line. However, its dependence on trained analysts and power-hungry modules makes it unsuitable for general deployment, and its misuse could lead to false positives, botched maneuvers, or compromised simulations.

It’s not a weapon. But in the right hands — it makes weapons smarter.
