Black Sun Mission Board - Pirates, Pilots, and Starfarers

Popo

I'm Sexy and I Know It
This is the Black Suns space oriented mission board. Here you can find missions that cater to pirates, pilots, spacefarers, etc. The missions are self explanatory and list the objectives, difficulty, rewards, bonus parameters, and bonus rewards (where applicable) for mission completion. These missions have no limit and can be repeated multiple times.

The minimum post count of each mission is ten posts. For each writer in the thread actively attempting the mission, another ten posts is required (1 writer = 10 posts, 2 writers = 20 posts, 10 writers = 100 posts, etc.). Once the thread has met the minimum post requirement, each missioner receives the reward listed. Non-missioners in the thread do not receive mission related rewards, but are not barred and don't count towards the minimum post count.

Please do not alt pad.
Please bring friends and comrades.

These missions are to promote activity and friendly competition as well as to encourage group threads. So, please, bring lots of friends and get these threads to awesome proportions.

When you complete a mission, please tag a Black Suns Faction Admin/Faction Leader so they can keep track of who's active in the faction and earning things.

Remember, failed missions yield no rewards, bonus or otherwise. Also, some bonus parameters require public threads. In these cases, the difficulty scale no longer applies.

Mission: Edging Out the Competition
Difficulty: X
Objective: A rival group of pirates have taken to the shipping lanes of the galaxy. They pillage without hesitation and loot without a though, killing any that get in their way. Information has come down the pipeline that a small group of pirates in corvettes and starfighters are attempting to ambush ships along a nearby hyperlane. Turn the tables on the competition and wipe them out. All of them.
Rewards: Enough scrap and loot to slightly improve one combat area of a starfighter or corvette, credits made from leftover scrap/loot.
Bonus Parameters: Bring at least two other writers into the mission with you (Minimum post count of 30)
Bonus Rewards: These pirates have come prepared for pulling ships out of hyperspace rather than lay in wait. After destroying the small gang, you find a single, corvette scale interdiction field generator among the wreckage.

Mission: This Looks Promising...
Difficulty: XX
Objective: Against all odds, local law enforcers have been far more effective in predicting, finding, and stopping smugglers getting into and out of nearby local systems. Fearing that the usual smugglers' runs are compromised, you've been sent to plot out a new way into one of the systems in question. Drop out of hyperspace on the edge of the system and scout out a new entry point. Plot the course from the system's edge and past the customs station without being apprehended or attacked by local law enforcement. The safer the route, the better. Detection by the authorities will force you to start all over again, failing the mission.
Rewards: 200,000cr for plotting the route and enough parts to bring make one noncombat system of a starfighter or corvette to Advanced.
Bonus Parameters: Bring at least one other writer into the mission with you and make the thread public.
Bonus Rewards: Through sheer dumb luck, as you exit the system you find that a previous smuggler dumped his cargo into space at the first sign of trouble and it doesn't look like anyone's cleaned it up just yet. The cargo is Hibridium and there's enough to outfit a single starfighter or corvette with the material.

Mission: Open Season
Difficulty: XXX
Objectives: A local business tycoon has decided not to pay his protection money to the Black Suns. Rumor has it that he's hired a band of mercenaries to protect his shipments as they move from system to system. Show him just how important protection money really is.
Rewards: 500,000cr for destroying the armed convoy, enough loot to slightly upgrade one combat system and one non-combat system on a single starfighter or corvette, and any money made from selling the cargo on the black market.
Bonus Parameters: Either add 20 posts to the minimum post count of the thread (no matter how many writers are missioning) OR have a Player Owned Company take the place of the NPC company (making this thread far more dangerous as there is written resistance). The second option requires the PC company owner's consent and participation.
Bonus Rewards: Looks like someone was moving the good stuff. Among the wreckage you find either an experimental 0.7 Hyperdrive Engine OR an experimental sublight engine overdrive (gives a good boost to speed at the cost of maneuverability)

Mission: What Was Lost, Can Be Found
Difficulty: XXXX
Objectives: A nearby Black Suns raiding group hit some trouble on the way back home. A rival group of raiders in frigates managed to cripple one of the Black Suns ships and drove off the rest. Fortunately, only the crippled ship was lost. Unfortunately, the crippled ship was the vessel carrying the most valuable of the raided loot: Rainbow Gems. Go back, locate, and retrieve the box of gems the ship was carrying before the competition learns what they've captured. Get back alive and intact, but most importantly get back with the cargo. You'll need something faster than the frigates that are there meaning corvettes and starfighters are recommended.
Rewards: 250,000cr per post of retrieving cargo, enough modules to upgrade two non-combat components to Advanced (a single starfighter or corvette), and a 'misplaced' ingot of Barab Ore.
Bonus Parameters: Make the thread Public and bring at least two other writers into the mission with you.
Bonus Rewards: You've managed to impress the people in charge. They've kept the box of Rainbow Gems to send up the chain... except for the one small gem they gave you, that is.

Mission: Pick Your Battles
Difficulty: XXXXX
Objectives: Someone kicked the hornet's nest. A Black Sun raid went terribly wrong and hasn't been heard from since the initial distress signal. Go to the system they were last heard from and investigate. From the sounds of their last communication and the panicked tones from veteran pirates, it was something big, nasty, and very, very lethal. Go there, find out what you can, and get back in one piece if you can (if you get back without a scratch and your ship barely holding together, you didn't find the right place). Speed is essential in this mission. A starfighter or corvette is highly recommended.
Rewards: 800,000cr, enough material to slightly upgrade two combat components on a single starfighter or corvette, and enough material to upgrade one non-combat module to Advanced on a single starfighter or corvette.
Bonus Parameters: Bring at least one other writer into the mission with you, bring at least two other writers to oppose you in the mission, and make the thread public.
Bonus Rewards: Not only have you impressed your superiors, but you've caught the attention of certain figures in the underworld as well. You've received a quiet and anonymous note with a property title attached. The note congratulates you on your mission success and promises to watch your progress closely. The title attached is your new ship* as a gift...

*Your choice of one of the following: Option A, Option B, or Option C

Please keep in mind that the amount of posts and post quality directly affects any factory submissions made with these thread's as development. In all cases, situations, and scenarios, the Factory Judges and Factory Admins have the last say in what will and will not count for improved items on submissions. When in doubt, go over and beyond the minimum post count and push for detailed posts with loads of story. And, as always, bring your friends!
