Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel paid attention to the ration packs information and decided that was definitely something she wanted to stock up on. Not just for this mission but for her ship’s supplies in general.

And the whole plant thing was fascinating. “I know plants are living and therefore can be influenced by the Force – but does that mean the plant would die if a Jedi wasn’t around? Which would be terrible. Or are they designed for growing in Academies, where Jedi are always around?”

"My experience with plants like the murakama orchid another plant. is it can grow naturally anywhere but once it is plucked it needs a jedi or force user to bond with it. Not a great place or thing as it can be dangerous but the orchid is force ensitive and can communicate with you. It is what makes it so rare and invaluabkle to many others. These trees and their leaves though seem to be made yes for academies and places where the force is stronger or with other jedi who would be able to bond with it. The Agricorps are working on many of the things to improve upon it." She had a small smile on her face when she moved around seeing some fo the other things here. She brought up different things to them so it would all come in handy. "There is also some new equipment for getting around places like debris saws to handle blocked doors or areas to help out other people. It seems like it could be dangerous but it can also serve an invaluable purpose in giving many of the situations."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel had heard of the plant and delved into her memories to see what she could remember. And then it came back to her – but for all of the wrong reasons. It was also known as the black orchid and from what she recollected, the plant was Force-sensitive with a high midi-chlorian count.

“I remember that plant would only connect with someone of a similar midi-chlorian count and wasn’t it ultimately used to create a deadly virus. Something about eternal life – except that life was to walk the galaxy as a zombie.”

She shuddered at the thought. “But otherwise the concept seems sensible. And the other inventions sound impressive, especially for non-Force sensitives.”

Orihime looked at her and nodded her head. "yes it does that but aside from the actual results of what it can do.... Less impressive. The understanding of it as more what there is." She wasn't wanting zombies or to live forever. She was looking and thinking about the plant itself. An intelligent plant, something that was able to feel the force at a level of a normal being int he galaxy and bond with them. The end result of what it can do, bad the implications that there is a species such as this, then there is a chance that there were more that could exist in the galaxy. "I mean more there could be other plants like this naturally in the galaxy. There are some sectors of the galaxy with thousands of worlds. The Farlax sector fo the deep core had over two thousand unexplored systems with at least one habitable world in each. There could be so many in places like the unknown regions or the companion galaxies.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled at the understatement of Orihime’s words. “I wonder if the plant that bonds has any positive implications – or is it more of a pet?” She wasn’t sure that was the best descriptor but it was the best word she could think of to describe the relationship. “Or even a friend?”

She couldn’t imagine a plant as a friend but on long distance journeys. It was most likely more stimulating than a droid.

"I am not certain, I know some of the agricorps have found the orchid. The one moon of Shri-Tal has thousands of them on its surface." She was looking over at more of the things here as she brought up some of the interest in it. The plant they were trying to revive and were genetically splicing with it. "Though for this the positive properties of it are they are working to recreate and fix bota plants. In the past that was a very strong plant rendered useless. I know my mother has been working with some others to try and reverse the effects and grow it even more. A new healing plant or something that could be used to revitalize another could have great benefits."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel was surprised to learn about the abundance of orchids. In her eyes, such things were always a temptation for the dark-side and she had to learn to avoid blocking things just because they could have a negative impact. So could most things if you let them.

But regardless of that character flaw, she would always prefer to work on something that was entirely positive – such as a healing plant. “I can only admire people who have the ability to create these things – I mean I know many plants have specific healing properties, but one that has generic benefits would be awesome.”

Sorel wondered if she should set aside a section of her ship for plants. Some for their medicinal properties and other for addition to cooking. There were many herbs that would be a good addition to ration packs.

"It can be, that is why my mother made botanical modules to add to ships in the cargo hold you can grow a lot of plants for anything and it makes running low on rations or med packs a little easier. I know the livestock ones can also work well for those who want to have the more but not get an entirely new ship." She said it while looking at some of the other things and here ont he station it looked massive to behold. Inside though there was a number of the different areas they could show everything off. New equipment was being done and the jedi presence on the station was visible as Orihime was looking at what had to be one of the largest rooms for it with mapping. "Orihime, come here little one." There was a sound, an older man. Her others uncle was here and he was with the twin nieces from her aunt Saia. The older man though was still a jedi and with rosy cheeks he was looking at her embracing her with one arm as the other was gone. Taken in a battle. "Grand Uncle Pacu." She said it embracing him back and smiling as the room was filled with more screens displaying maps and coordinates.

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel nodded. She had been on one such ship and had marvelled at what appeared to be a farm in space – with any number of species of flora and fauna present.

As they progressed through the ship, Sorel was surprised to meet someone that knew them. Or Orihime at least. And judging by his age and use of term to address her friend, she surmised he had known Orihime when she was much younger. The fact that he hugged her was an additional indication that the relationship was close.

Her powers of deduction were ratified when she addressed him. Sorel bowed politely to the man. “Pleased to meet you,” she offered by way of an introduction.

Orihime looked at him and then at Sorel as she spoke. "Oh uncle I am sorry, this is Sorel my friend and mothers students. She is really smart and talented." The man was looking at her and spoke turning to see Sorel as he bowed. Bringing the one arm to the front and bowing with it. "Jedi Sorel welcome, I am this little ones uncle." He was moving back and presenting the map room. "We have been coordinating probes and drones from everything you sent us as well as the seeder ships you mother made. The automated systems are working very well for mapping space and have collected all of the information we had for the gree and their areas of space. So you can have all of it and you mother has been busy making a lot of new stuff." he chuckled there though showing them the maps of silver space and the galaxies themselves. The saratai and seeder ship pushing forward with heavy levels of exploration and mapping. The probes and relays so it could be a massive network spread across the galaxy.

Sorel blushed at the praise. She was, in her own eyes, a Jedi. No more and certainly no less. They were all smart and brave – it went with the territory. Beyond that she saw nothing that differentiated her from most of her peers – except perhaps for her stance on the Code. But that was a matter of opinion as opposed to necessarily being right or wrong.

Sorel smiled warmly as Orihime’s uncle introduced himself and she paid attention to his little tour of the area. She was genuinely impressed at the progress they’d made with regards the Gree, based upon what information they’d only recently shared.

“It’s an impressive set-up,” she said honestly. “And we appreciate you sharing all of this information – it will be invaluable as we search for the so-called Library planet.”

Orihime looked at her and the man spoke. "Yes, when we got the information from you it gave a place to look instead of just trying to fill in the map. Broke up the monotony for the analysts that are here going over and seeing all of he things here." He was looking at many of the things they had while giving the information on a small datadisk with a nod of her head. "Thank you for this." She said it while looking at the screen and she was bringing up some fo the ifnormation to show off different things to Sorel with a nod of her head. " Hmm is there anything that you think we might need? There are some new regulators and non lethal things to stop people. Might want to try a grav grenade. It doesn't kill but instead weigns someone down so they pass out."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel smiled. Orihime’s uncle had done them a great service but he spoke as if they were the ones helping him. It was a characteristic of leadership that Sorel greatly admired. You wanted to help people who valued you – it was human nature. And right now she would have done pretty much anything for Orihinme’s uncle.

And then she focussed on Orihime. “Can’t say there is anything in particular I need or want. The grenade sounds impressive and less uncomfortable than a usual stun grenade. I might pick up a small supply of those.”

[member="Sorel Crieff"]

Orihime looked at Sorela nd they could get some of those as well as some things extra. Crates that would be filled with supplies until she moved around the room seeing things. The AI from the seeder and saratai ships popping up as she stood there. "Quiet, what information has been found from the former Gree territories?" She was curious, while the information she and sorel might have found wouldn't have been there the general mapping it did like in areas of the deep core for the Farlax system. Over two thousand habitable systems that they had a lot of space to work on mapping. She was looking at many of the things and the AI was brigning up star charts they had gotten from the Nirvana which had the Gree's star charts of their old space where they started mapping and mostly just logging it in. Their information had just provided more information to the planets and system that she could put a course for Sorel to travel and take them across. "There is also the work your mother has been doing on defensive equipment. The stunners are almost done if you want to try them."

Sorel Crieff

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel knew little of the Gree but had been able to learn a small amount since they’d found the ship – but her knowledge was still minimal. She’d found out that the worlds of the Gree would be a xenoarcheaologist’s delight as they would contain artefacts of exotic and advanced technology. She’d also read that many of these relics were guarded in the final days of the Gree by a culture that had degenerated to a point where they were no longer able to use much of their own technology.

It was somewhat sad, Sorel reflected, but she was shaken from her thoughts by the continued conversation. What she picked up is that the information they had brought with them, added to the existing knowledge, provided a clear path to the planet they sought. Rarely was hyperspace travel a matter of pointing your ship at coordinates and pressing go. In uncharted or less populated space especially, it was about navigating from one system to another to get to an end goal. Their current destination would possibly have never been discovered were it not for the star charts they’d recovered – and the routes prescribed for reaching the systems.

Orihime looked at the computers and they were bringing up a lot more things. She was looking at the world itself had a name, he location had a name thanks to the database they had here. The Great Library of Manuals on Te Hasa was an important find and relic to understanding... and Sorel herself had a great deal of time that they could set the course. Orihime had thanked her uncle and seen some of the others while more equipment and supplies were brought on for Sorel. The different ration and food packs were a lot better, higher grade with flavor so you could eat them and it wouldn't be chalk. The canteens they had developed for the jedi themselves to be able to use that would refill itself with water for using the heat and cryocells. The glow rods they could use and there were some work on other supplies like the biofoam to handle any wounds that might happen. "Orihime stood there as she was looking at it and for the travel time and chance to go and do things she had her normal robes but the outer robes were there as the silver grey robes she had gotten from the jedi master's spirit when exploring the darkworlds. Sylvar was important when she grinned. "Alright we have a course and going to Te Hasa shouldn't take that long. THere are some notes my mother has about using the Nirvana and the gree technologies built into that ship. Our own information and working with some of the equipment that has been made and discovered."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel gladly took her fair share of ration packs and made sure she had the correct codes so she could order more when the situation arose. Sometimes you get used to bland – but that doesn’t make it right. Ration packs were nutritionally robust but she could not say she ever enjoyed one.

And she grabbed a couple of the special canteens. Too often she’d run out of water in desert climates and the idea of carrying a mini moisture farm in a bottle was intriguing and entirely useful.

And suitably stocked up, Sorel copied the notes from Matsu to her own datapad and began to read them. Knowing a little about the Gree was one thing. Knowing how to use their technology was something entirely different. And soon she was engrossed in the information her Master had provided.

Orihime looked at Sorel and all of the information as there were a couple other things being brought over. One of them was a small pocket generator that she presented. "Oh this is fun, a hardlight projector that can float and make walls." It wasn't much, literally it was just a quiet floating projector but he hardlight she had worked with and making a wall that could stand up to weapons fire was well... helpful in many cases. You could use it to shelter from the elements and the power cells were rylith crystals which could recharge when exposed to the sun. "Basically portable shelter that protect from weather and have a twelve day power charge sustained." There was a lot of work and taking one of these for camping around or just being out you could fashion the hardlight wall to the environment so it blended into the area around it and protected you at night. "It lets air pass through but particles like spores or poisons won't and can be good for exploring or camping out." There was also the hand axes that were small and lighter weight, the glow rodes and the small datapads made for identification. "We have the gear and whenever you are ready to leave in the ship."

Ready are you? What know you of ready?
Sorel heard what Orihime said but she had to process the information before she fully understood its purpose. When she did, acknowledgement dawned on her face. “When you said light and projector, I thought you meant – like a holo-projector. But this is far more interesting. And if it can repel standard fire, it doubles as a useful shield when accompanying non-Jedi. I think I need to have myself one of these.”

“And if it keeps beasts and bugs at bay, an excellent addition for general travelling in places like jungles.”

She looked around and smiled. “I think it’s fair to say I have everything I need, and so I’m ready to go.”

Orihime was looking at Sorel and gave a nod of her head to that, so that they would be be able to set it all up. She prepared bringing it when there was a chance to go back to ship. She brought up and showed the grenades which while non lethal might have needed a different name. tangler grenade, grav grenades, pheromone grenades, a couple Ranger's Field Brazier, a crate of Sakura Foam and addition medical supplies a Field Rebreather, a Field Injector, a Field Pack, some Healer Gloves, telchek, some additional supplies some Glowrods, Hand Axe, Tech Gloves, Soup Cans, Saori Enhancer, Tactical Cans, Hydration Canteen, Hardlight Wall and other supplies. Orihime was looking at more of it as she took one of the tactical packs of food in the MRE's and high grade rations for herself. The little bit of water from her canteen to make it puff up and become a piece of bread. The small tablet sized breads for dunking in the soup seeing a Sigil of Hope added to it for Sorel. "Ready to go?"
