Black Crowns are coins that hold great significance within Black Sun. Black Crowns are given out to individuals who have distinguished themselves in furthering Black Sun's interests or have otherwise accomplished something to warrant great trust among the vigos. They are typically made from aurodium and bear the sigil of the Black Sun on one side, and an engraving associated with one of the Black Sun vigos on the other.
Those who bear the Black Crown are counted among the Black Sun's friends and enjoy the protection of the vigo who bestowed the coin. Killing a bearer of a Black Crown is considered a great taboo, and anyone caught doing so is met with grave punishment. The immunity and special privileges afforded to these individuals is to be honoured by Black Sun, and by extension the vigos and their servants.
