Assault Rifle can essentially transform into a makeshift Submachine Gun when the stock is folded however it suffers decreased accuracy and substantially greater recoil when used as such. Stock locks into place and operates on a hinge system allow it to fold into the shell of the Assault Rifle.
Description: The GEN-1 Assault Rifle literally translates into Generic Assault Rifle. Black Armory took a look at the countless other Assault Rifles on the market and needing to coin one for their own company created the GEN-1. It's neither outstanding as an Assault Rifle nor is it glaringly deficient it merely exists to serve a purpose.
The GEN-1 fires a standard 5.56mm round that is universal throughout the galaxy meaning that if its operator runs out of ammunition he can interchange it with other 5.56mm rounds after feeding them into an empty clip. It has an effective range of 500 meters which can be enhanced using an optional zoom scope attachment. The Assault Rifle is, essentially, as accurate as its operator. Features that set the GEN-1 apart from its competition are its duraplast shell which is durable and decreases the standard weight of the weapon slightly and the ease with which it can be maintained. The GEN-1 is easy to maintain, easy to clean and can interchange damaged components with other similar assault rifles to ensure it keeps on firing in even the worst conditions.
Drawbacks of the GEN-1 are its reduced maximum range, there are assault rifles that can fire upwards of 600 meters and further to maximum effect, and its slightly decreased ammo capacity, 25 round standard magazine instead of 30, but these are relatively minor.
One thing that makes the GEN-1 a popular item amongst consumers is it's cheap. Black Armory makes these weapons for cheap and doesn't mark them up much. They're easy to make and they're easy to sell. They're also made without serial numbers or tracking of any kind on purpose. Once they're out of the factory no one can track of where these guns have been.
