Birds of a Feather

"You didn't kill it? Where are you even from anyways?"

Ellie kept walking, throwing the empty skewer to the side, letting it fall in the dust. As she walked she licked her fingers, and then spotted a small stall. The owner was selling weapons and tons of them too. She figured now was as good a time as any to buy stuff. She could use a good shotgun and besides, her line of work?

Weapons were gold.

"Hey let's go over here and look at this shop."

Ellie chuckled, brown eyes roving over the weapons racks. Two things in particular caught her attention. A pair of twin rifle looking things. She grabbed one, turning it over in her hands. It was wood, steel and intricate gold carvings were set into the grips.

"Excuse me?"

"Whoa there child, aren't you too young to be holding that?"

Ellie rolled her eyes, shooting a glare at the shopkeeper.

"I'm an adult fool. What is this? Is it for sale?"

The Rodian gave her a funny look then nodded.

"Aye it's a package deal. Twin sawed off shotguns made on Tatooine by a special crafter. They can shoot scattershot or solid tungsten slugs."

Ellie looked the weapon over, thumbing a switch on the side. It broke open and the breach opened up. She stuck her finger in the chanbers, swabbing a little and retracting them.

"It's dirty!"

"I know, tell you what kid, twenty percent off. That's five hundred credits, I'll even throw in the ammo. Been dying to get rid of em."

"Sounds good."

Ellie flipped him some chips with a casual air. Then she scooped the ammo off the counter and stashed it in her backpack, along with the Shotguns. That was a bit of a problem though, she needed a holster.

"Do you have anything to hold these things? They ain't gonna fit on my gunbelt."

As Echo stood back waiting she began to twirl her hair again as the pain medicine kicks in again. She drifts into her own world of thoughts returning to her innocent days on Tatooine. Her expression became far off. She thought back to one of her last days on her home of Naboo. The sun was bright and the valley was bright with life and activity. Then there was Echo sitting in her swimsuit on the dock overlooking the lake. This was the only place she felt whole. She was just sitting there when all of the sudden there came shouts from behind her and then a bag over her head and she was thrown into the lake. She could not swim and in that moment she could not breath all she could do was sink. But then right before she drown she felt strong arms come up and wrap around her pulling her up

As they departed Ellie could tell something different was going on with Echo. She was quiet, and really drugged up which concerned the young girl. They made it back to the ship Ok and Ellie laid her down on the cot in the man hold. The Bounty hunters departed in sift fashion.

She had been waiting for this moment, the moment that she could decrypt the datachips and find out what all the fuss was about. Hutt's didn't pay hundreds of credits to transport items of no importance. No they did not.

With trembling fingers she slid the datachip into the Computer systems, running a quick scan. They were heavy encryptions, beyond anything even military grade. Her brows furrowed but her eyes burned with the fires of a thousand suns. That mean't that whatever it was was very important.

"Echo, I'm going to drop you off at Theed. I have some uh.... stuff that came up."

She fired up the engines, strapping into the harness and they slowly began to rise, drifting upwards towards the atmosphere...
