Birds of a Feather... get married? (PM for invite)

Keter

The Renegade
Keter kept his face perfectly neutral as he walked his daughter to...well, her soon-to-be husband. Ex-husband if he didn't watch himself. He could see Owain being somewhat nervous. Good. He should know how important htis moment was. And if he was afraid of him...even better. "I'll make sure the Inferno is fuelled and ready the minute the ceremony is over," he promised his little- no, his grown girl. Having lived with a baby for the past few weeks must have made her yearn for some peace and quiet. Something he and her family could provide. Little Zelda was present of course, carefully being held by K-36215. The protocol droid should have had a memory wipe decades ago, but now he was just as much a part of the family as him.

Owain

Lord High Grand Commander Esq.
Owain stood as straight and proud as possible. This was happening. Actually happening. Now. How did it come to this?! Crushing his momentary blind panic, he smiled at Felicity before following her gaze to his uncle, his smile becoming frozen on his face. Ah. Yes. His uncle rolled his eyes and grinned at the young couple. "Lass, this is just a few words and bearing witness you to your pact, nothing more," he said with a casual wave of his hand. The older Barnabus looked around the small hall and nodded to himself. "Seems like everyone's here," he noted before clasping his hands together. "Alright then, dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."

The youth in front of him tuned out his cliched words, focused on the woman who was going to be his wife. Who already was his wife, in all but name.

Oh good. Now she decided to feel nervous. Her heart was pounding in her chest like a drum. Her hands went clammy, her face was too warm, her throat was dry. She glanced at Owain again through a thick curtain of blonde curls and flowers. He looked frightened too. Was he changing his mind? Maybe he was getting cold feet?

This was so strange. Actually... no. It wasn't. They were both young, inexperienced in so many things. Of course they would be nervous. This was a big step, wasn't it? Maybe they were moving too fast. But then, what choice did they honestly have? She looked at Zelda, nearly walking now. In a few weeks? She'd be running all over the place. She deserved a mother and a father. She deserved a family that was whole. If Felicity could give her that, she would.

She reached out instinctively to take Owains hand as he said his words. Vows. Felicity hardly heard them, but she knew what he meant. She meant the same with her own vows. A few words. A few simple, well practiced words, and it was over.

Owain

Lord High Grand Commander Esq.
And just like that, with a few muttered words in front of their families and a signature to date their pact, it was done. It felt...like a weight had been taken off his shoulders. He relaxed and smiled at his wife, leaning over to give her a quick chaste kiss. There would be time enough for more later. For now, they had to take care of what was to come next. Holding her hand, Owain had no doubt that nothing would overcome them. They were young, passionate. Maybe they had gotten married too fast - but then again, maybe not. Maybe everything would be just fine. There was no way to find out except to live it.

It was over quick. Painless. With a kiss and a signature, they had sealed their pact. She smiled, but she wasn't smiling at her friends and family. She was smiling for herself now. For him. She squeezed his hand, turning to face those that cared about her.

"I love you, my silly crow," she whispered, "This changes nothing."

And it wouldn't. She wasn't sure at what point a simply crush had turned into love, or at what point a first love turned into a forever love, but it had. And she did not feel even the slightest bit changed. Legally, their marriage was official now. That was the only change.

She brought her eyes to the sleepy baby girl in the arms of the droid. Perfect soft brown curls, pretty rosy cheeks, eyes blue like the sea. The bride tugged at her new husbands hand, pulling him in the direction of their adopted daughter. She needed to hold her. Just once before they left her behind for the week.

Owain

"As you wish," he replied evenly, grinning despite himself. HIs songbird was guiding him now, towards little Zelda. She was such a fragile little thing. She and Felicity had bonded instantly, in a manner that all mothers and daaghters did. It was something beyond the tie of blood. Maybe it was a space wizard thing. Owain never felt...accepted by the child. He cared for her and she responded to him, but he felt it was more like mutual respect than an actual parent/child relationship.

Ah well, that would come in time or not at all. It didn't change anything. He would help Felicity raise Zelda, and be there whenever he was needed. To the best of his ability. SO whilst Felicity cooed over the younling, Owain was a step behind, giving her some space. Best not to crowd anyone after all. His uncle came up behind him and slapped him hard on the back. The spot between his shoulder blades stung as he glared at the older Barnabus, but the man just winked.

"Now Owain if you don't mind, there's another little tradition that must be upheld!"

"Tradition?" the youth asked, suddenyl defensive.

"Oh don't worry, nothing to do with you and your bride. Keter! Come on you rust-faced posh git! Have at you!"

The tiny girl held her arms out to the young woman as she approached. Felicity smiled as she called her 'mumma' and pulled a flower out of her hair. She didn't mind in the least. She held her close. Family. Her, Owain and baby Zeldara. She nuzzled her nose against hers and turned to Owain, but he was already talking to his uncle. Felicity stood back, gave the girl a gentle kiss on the forehead and passed her back to the droid.

"Owain," she whispered, coming up behind him, "What do you say we make our exit while they're... distracted?"

Owain

Owain felt his eye twitched as he watch his uncle and his father-in-law brawl across the hall. Elliot had this...thing...about having a good time that involved bruises and drinking. Though Keter seemed to be enjoying himself too. They were acting like children, but at least they hadn't resorted to throwing thing's at one another. He nodded numbly to his wife. "Yes...lets," he agreed, wishing to be as far from this madness as possible.

Felicity grabbed Owains hand and swiftly started to make her exit. She had nothing packed. She had no bags. But she had a destination in mind. If she needed anything, she could buy it once they arrived. Most of the trip, she suspected, would be spent without clothing anyway. As she passed her brother, Felicity almost stopped. She had the urge to close the distance between them. Hug him. Say everything was going to be alright. That he'd be happy too one day. He would survive whatever would be coming for him.

But she knew that if she said it, she would be lying. She had a terrible feeling when she looked at him. As if she were already looking at a ghost. A dead man, trapped in the living world. It frightened her. She dropped Owains hand for a moment, ran for [member="Cyril Grayson"] to close him in a swift embrace. She said nothing. Of all the people here, he was the one she worried about the most.

"I had a bad dream about you," she warned quietly, "Be careful."

And that was all. She stepped away at once, turned on her heel and disappeared with [member="Owain"] .

Vorhi simply smiled and watched the ceremony, enjoying the relative peace and quiet of it all. He did not to Cyril at his ocmment, though. "Young love, old love, trust me--it never makes sense, but it still works somehow," he said with a chuckle.

He watched the couple move to evacuate quickly, as the officiant attempted to trap Keter in something involving alcohol. Well, he wasn't the type to stop young lovers. Let them have their honeymoon. He would have his own schemes at this point. He needed to begin his own particular plans on the galaxy--sooner than later at this rate. But for now, Owain's gruf uncle had a good plan. "If it's drink you're suggesting, as a Friend of the family, I shall gladly participate!" e siad loudly distracting the men while signalling a shooing motion to Owain and Felicity.

Keter

The Renegade
Keter grunted as he hefted Elliot Barnabus over his head before throwing him across the room.

"Cheating space wizard!" accused the mercenary, staggering back onto his feet, wincing at all the bruises he had accumulated. Keter had not fared much better himself, sporting a broken nose and brusied ribs. Still, this felt good. A way to vent, to bleed off the anger that continued to quietly bubble inside him. Anger at Feena's death. Sometimes, Elliot knew far more than he should when it came to helping him. The blond grinned as he shook his head.

"Then let's call it a draw?" he offered, as [member="Vorhi Alestrani"] joined them. Keter nodded at his wife's friend, even as Elliot hobbled over to them, also smiling widely. "I think some alcohol would do us some good. K? Make sure Zelda is alright and keep close, alright?" No way was he going to let his granddaughter out of his sight for any longer than absolutely necessary. "No Elliot, she can't try some of the drinks," he also said, cutting off his friend.

His...well, he supposed he could call the commando a brother-in-law now, frowned but nodded. Keter hoped Felicity hadn't heard any of that, the girl already rushing out of the room with her husband.

"Well then Master Alestrani, come join us! To the future and the past!" the blond declared, idly wiping away the trickle of blood coming from his nose.

Vorhi laughed a little. "Agreed. Drinks all around!" He said with a smirk, nodding to the slightly bloodied men. "But no fighting on my part--I'm afraid a bar brawl usually ends quite poor for everyone if I get involved," he said with another laugh. After all, he was a Grandmaster of Teras Kasi, and he could be really nuts in a fight. But today wasn't a day for glroious battle. Nope. toady was a day to drink a whole city under the table, though. "Here's a to past worth remembering, ad present worth enjoying, and a future worth saving our energy for!" He said, grinning like a Nexu and leaning playfully.

He hoped he bought the kids enough time to enjoy their honeymoon. Whether or not there'd be a drunk and disorderly charge for the night is another discussion....
