Intent: To sub Biogel
Development Thread: if required
Manufacturer: Arceneau Trade Company | Browncoat Arms & Industrial |
PharmaTech
Model: Biogel
Affiliation: Open Market to ATC Customers
Modularity: Yes
Production: Mass
Material: Biogel

Classification : Kinetic Impact Gel
Weight: Varying, In a full heavily padded sparring suit 4kg

Special features:

Strengths:

+ Heavy Kinetic Damage Resistance: This gel absorbs kinetic damage up the ying-yang.

+ Lightweight: It is a gel, so pretty light weight.

Weaknesses:

- Bulky in layers: Even though the gel is relatively lightweight, the more that is used, the heavier it gets and may slow down reaction time and restrict movement.
- Stabby stabby: Still is subject to piercing damage and blaster rounds.

Description:

As the need for new kinetic dampening materials was at large, Browncoat Industries in line with PharmaTech used old technology and revamped it to enhanced the standard biogel. Ordinarily, the original Biogel was relatively lightweight it could add five kilos minimum, and would slow down reaction time and reduction of movement, but it did wonders for absorbing kinetic energy in a melee fight.

Advances in technology have allowed this biogel to be improvised but only enough drop an extra kilo in a full, heavily padded suit. If used in lightweight armors would add an additional 1 kilo, in medium armor 2 kilos, in heavy armor 3 kilos, and full heavily padded sparring suits at 4 kilos and would progressively slow down reaction time and reduction of movement.

Downsides are that it is still subject to piercing damage. This is only gel! A shiv and blaster fire will go right through it, and while it will absorb the kinetic energy, do not expect this to stop you from getting stabbed. It will, however, help cushion the blow from a Houk or a Wookiee down if you are feeling like a spunky pugilist one night.

While it can be used as a liner, there are other applications that one can use this gel to protect items from kinetic impact. Further research and development may use biogel as a base for future project in advanced Andwa gel-crystal matrix materials.

For fluidity's sake, you can take out the first suit that is highlighted.

And that'll be it.

Quality: 10 - Kinetic
The use of the Biogel suit (as per the Death Star novel) was briefly utilized during Teras Kasi training. That's close-quarters, hand to hand, combat. While you might certainly be able to apply lethal force with your bare hands, especially with the use of martial arts, I don't believe quality ten, the ability to stop a bullet in its tracks, survive a fall from a tall building, etc, would be accurate for the application that canon has displayed.

I'm aware of what the wookieepedia article says, but you have the quote directly from the novel in your submission. While context is missing from the article, it's clear that the ability to shrug off physical force is directly referring to its ability to cushion blows from physical strikes utilizing Teras Kasi. You can lower quality, or drastically reduce the production and include development, but this isn't ready for approval as-is.

This is quality 10 kinetic gel that absorbs kinetic impacts. As in, just absorbs against kinetic energy just in the same way the article stated.

This doesn't protect against ballistics or piercing damage.

Therma gel does the same thing and better as a canon gel that can harden and block impacts. My Biogel does not; again, it simply is really great at absorbing kinetic energy.

Thermal gel was a protective gel like substance.

Thermal gel was used in the shells of cocoon pods to dissipate the heat of re-entry. Additionally, when exposed to sufficient kinetic impact (such as that of the cocoon hitting the ground) the gel would harden, and absorb the kinetic force - protecting the cocoons contents from harm.

A chaos version of a far more advanced version and mass produced of this that can block piercing damage once is this:

Would you prefer I write this more clearly that it is only able to absorb kinetic energy? State in weaknesses that it does not protect against piercing damage like vibro shivs and blasters? Like if you got shot, it will absorb the majority of the impact, but the blaster bolt will still go through.

Great for melee combat and fisty cuffs though!
