Big Guns make a Big Splash

Morje...

Iron Giant was many things in this galaxy. A weaponsmith, an exile, a criminal puppet, a Mercenary, a smuggler, but an all around vagrant.... one with huge ass guns. Her Resu-class Freighter touched down on this strange world known as Morje, preparing to unload some cargo.

She was uncertain as to the results of which, but it appeared that at some point in time this planet had experienced a battle or something, a clash of two foreign entities. It seemed to be forgotten history now. She exited her vehicle in her lightest layer of armor that still included legs, while carrying a rifle passively. She wasn't too sure on the laws here, but it seemed like a backwater world without much in the means of advanced technology, so she wasn't worried if was suddenly convicted of being a criminal and 'forced' to leave.

She had to refuel her ship, so she decided to leave it in the measly structure that passed for a spaceport and decided to meander and wander this strange place, but she didn't dare venture anywhere too far away from her ship. She learned that the galaxy was a surprising place, and one can never be too prepared.

If anything was a sore point with Daxton it was Morje. As far as the Sith was concerned, this pitiful backwater was blight on the universe, pimple on the fine sheen of his plans. The world was roughly divided along two camps, one pro Republic, banner waving idiots that they were and the rest were smarter and sided with the Sith.

Daxton had been supplying the Sith side with arms and training, preparing for the future when open warfare raged on the planets seas. But for now, he was content with the stalemate.

Today he was here on Drunje, one of the few cities on Morje that had an active spaceport, and one where he had the most undercover agents on the Republic side. He had just finished a meeting with them in an outdoor cafe, gathering intelligence on the situation on the planet when he spotted the giant contraption. Frowning, he threw a glance her way as if trying to place where he had seen that kind of creature before....

C.O.M.O., a helpful translation droid, stealthily sparked a message to Iron Gaint in Resu tongue from her shoulder plate. He had observed that a being had made eye contact, and it wasn't a friendly eye contact, or so it deducted. She told it to roll away to observe the situation, just in case it was right. Still only carrying her rifle in her mechanical arms, she turned to the outdoor cafe. It was difficult for her to comprehend what the establishment was for exactly, but assumed it had to do with some kind of social interaction between aliens. Though carbon food wasn't really on her dietary plan, she opted to "hang around" the area to observe the pair of eyes (that she couldn't see herself) that she had been alerted to.

Why do they all have to look the same? She thought to herself, trying to keep track of which one C.O.M.O. had pointed out to her, while a plethora of other heat signatures moved about and obstructed her view from time to time. There were advantages and disadvantages with thermal vision at times, especially since it had to be translated into a computer first and crude rudimentary display system for her to observe. After a bit of observation, she decided perhaps she should confront this individual. Maybe he or she was just mystified with her mechanical and alien nature. It was highly possible, there had been a few, but her droid companion had deducted differently.

In time she would know herself.

"Greetings. Adequate weather, truth?" She still had to work on her grammar a bit without C.O.M.O..

"Most adequate indeed." Daxton nodded in agreement. "You are Resu, yes? I have seen your kind before. Never expected to see one so far in contested space though. Would you care to sit?" The Sith gestured to the empty chair at his table. What was a Resu doing here and why did it possess a lingering aura of one of his pets. Perhaps it was a friend of his little fishy mermaid, now that would be most interesting indeed.

"Truth, Resu exile. Recognition surprised," She said, as she stood near a seat, but fretting she would crush it, opted not to sit really. "Curiosity, explain Resu encounters? Droid "C.O.M.O." recognizes stranger." She gestured towards him with a mechanical limb. How peculiar that she had met this being before, or he had met a being like her enough for him to remember her. That couldn't be good. She radio signaled a hoverpad that was normally used for carrying around Hutts, to bring her the other components of her suit to come to her location. She didn't like where this was going, despite the friendly conversation. Then again, for all she knew he could be screaming in anger at her, and she'd be hard pressed to determine the difference.

"Name?" She asked, as her arsenal drew nearer in silence. Nothing inconspicuous at all about a hovering device carrying around several hundred pounds of gear and weapons, then again, neither was she.

"Pardon my curiosity. This is the first I heard of exiles among your kind. Lord Daxton Bane, at your service. I spoke with your leader and negotiated a treaty of peace and friendship, between the Resu and my kind."

Spotting the floating weapons platform, he smiled in amusement, "Weapons? May I ask why? Are you expecting trouble?" He asked in as he tried to place the giant on the defensive.

"Silver Sentinel negotiation? Exhilaration!" How interesting, she had just met the individual that had greeted the Resu as a galactic entity! It did nothing to drop her suspicion but how incredible that this individual was fortunate enough to have prior experience with her kind, and for her to meet him. He asked her about the guns coming there way. Whelp, she supposed it was time for her to explain herself a bit more.

"Misfortune, C.O.M.O. recognition. Event negative connotation. Iron Giant Mercenary. Vendetta hunting." She said as the thing hovered closer by. The residents could sense the fight coming on, and made their distance. If things were going to go south, C.O.M.O. was programmed to go full volume and alert the populace to disperse immediately.

"Identify name." She commanded while stepping several paces back towards her weapons platform. She lifted her rifle a bit higher, but did not aim yet.

Unseen from where he was sitting, his back pouch slipped open and a couple of cyroban grenades float out, hidden beneath the folds of his flowing cape. If this fish though she was going to catch him flat footed, then he would teach her a lesson leaving her gaping in awe like a dolphin on crack.

"I already told you my name my dear big friend, but you failed to tell me yours. Now isn't that rude." he chided her, as he gestured with his left hand, while his right unobtrusively moved towards the armchair's rests, within easy range should he need to fast draw his blade.

(OOC: Whoops, I didn't realize you said your name xD)

"C.O.M.O., Disperse." So the fight had begun, and she was facing an enemy she would very much like to kill today. She prepped her heavy weapons suit, it was held in the flight layer at the moment so she launched it into the air for safe keeping, while it dropped its other piece above her. She squeezed off several rounds of her blaster rifle before the much heavier, much more armed battlesuit wrapped around her. Pistons and hydraulics connected and hissed, her mechanical knees bending as they absorbed the fall. She activated a Personal energy shield, as she shot off several more bolts with her carried rifle. She had a variety of other trinkets to use but many of them had to be primed shortly before use, or it wasn't tactical to reveal their presence yet.

Civilians ran everywhere, so she would be as careful as she could to make sure she could hold her target. As such, C.O.M.O. connected to HUD relay and pinged where Daxton was visible with a small laser pointer that her aiming software could utilize as a makeshift markerlight. She continued walking back away from the target to facilitate distance. But it was a slow walk, and unlikely to mount up a whole lot of distance, she had a distance creating tactic however should he attempt to get in close. It was time to see just how strong a Jedi was, as she saw it.

The arc of the rifle betrayed her intentions before she even spoke, which amused Daxton as he recognized the stench he detected earlier. So his mermaid had her hooks in a fish as well? My my his little blue skinned harrigan has been busy indeed. As the first blaster bolts headed his way, he kicked the table to intercept the beams of light before sending the cryoban grenades at the giant. By themselves they wouldn't do much damage, but they would play havoc on the gears that they landed on, freezing them to below subzero in a matter of seconds. Any pressure applied on the frozen areas could result in cracking or breakage if sufficient force was applied.

But the Sith Lord was already on the move, an unlit saber in his left hand and a small device firmly gripped on his right. Dodging through the crowd of civilians, he intentionally used them as meat shields as he put space between him and the giant creature. He was baiting her to follow him, and there would be no way she could shoot at him without harming any innocents in the way....

Baiting and immobilizing? Perhaps not the smartest strategy. The grenades easily slipped passed her personal shield while she fired at the table the villian had been in. C.O.M.O. though couldn't keep up with him in a crowd, thus she lost her makeshift markerlight device. At this point then she was totally blind. Her flight layer though was using repulsor lifts to keep it aloft in the air in the most energy efficient setting it could use. She wondered if she could use aerial surveillance using the video feed C.O.M.O. had provided of the identity of her target. Connecting once more with her technological apparatus her Flight layer used facial recognition technology to pin his location as best it could. It was a spotty location system , but she got the idea of where he was.

Perhaps having C.O.M.O. tell everyone to disperse so suddenly with the connotation of danger wasn't her best strategy.

Regardless her frozen joints were her main worry at the moment, but not too much to fear... so long as it didn't persist that is. She didn't like the cold, and her armor could only heat her waters so much before it becoming a burden, and she didn't have a stock up on the chemicals she needed for bio-thermal activity. Using a wrist mounted flamethrower she cut away at the freezing stuff, costing her precious time. She prepped her Grenade Launcher for a sonic blast, non-lethal and stunning, giving her just enough time for her to recognize her target and pursue with whatever she had available.

She resumed her slow charge, still breaking off particles of ice, or whatever Cryoban Grenades discharged. Boom, Boom, Boom. She fired three Sonic Grenades in a triangular area to where her Flight Suit had estimated her target to be. Being the most accurate weapon she had available, she minimized civilian casualty (if only to avoid being labeled as a criminal again) by hefting her blaster rifle like a blaster pistol ) as her right arm was an Autocannon at the moment, and fired at a hopefully stunned target. She had plenty of her own tricks to dish out, and god help him if ever got within point blank range. The only foreseeable difficulty she could see ahead was the unpredictability of a force attack. Thus she programmed her eyes in the sky to rain down hell on the sith regardless of civilian collateral if even for a moment she was disabled, or was at threat of being disabled. It was also programmed to haul her useless armor to her ship at the earliest convenience, and destroy any obstacles, hostile or other wise to get her there.

Daxton had a head start, blending effortless with the stream of confused civilians, just another face trying to flee from the rampaging giant. Looking over his shoulder, he smirked when he saw she was using a flame thrower to heat up the frozen joints. He needed to probe the full extent of her capabilities before he would engage her in hand to hand that was for sure.

He nearly made it to the plaza when the sonic blast caught him in its range, the aural dampeners in his helmet automatically compensating and limiting the damage, but still leaving a ringing sound for a few seconds echoing in his ears. All around him Morje civilians collapsed in agony, the sonic attack wrecking havok on their sensitive hearing. While he staggered momentarily, he was still on his feet. Time to turn the tide against his foe. Activating the aural speakers of his helmet, he shouted to all nearby. "The giant is running amok! Run for your lives. Someone call the guard!"

Then he turned around the corner with a swirl of his cloak, taunting her to pursue if she dared. Between someone calling the guard to deal with the Giant and him, the creature would soon have her hands full. Attaching the small device to the side of the wall, he activated the motion sensor so if she would pursue it would trigger this little surprise of his.

Using the Force to augment his speed, he was soon moving in a rapid pace towards the center of the city. He was going to make it really hard for her to hit him without hitting any civilians in the process. Just the kind of dirty fighting Daxton specialized in.

She wasn't sure what consisted of the Morje Guard but she would rather not find out. She used as much available energy as she dared use to increase the working capacity of her leg joints, bringing her to a solid jog... or in other words standing still compared to Daxton. Some how her sonic blasts did little slow him down at all, and more impressively, seemed to help his situation by making hers worse. She needed the people to disperse so she could clearly target Daxton with more lethal ammunition. She had only a little bit in the name of crowd control that wasn't lethal, but she did have on thing she could probably use for the same effect. As a Resu it seemed strange to her that humans and other humans were not more tolerant of electrical energy, but that didn't stop her from using it her to her advantage. She opened up the device in the head of her battle suit that she normally used to communicate with C.O.M.O. when she didn't want anyone else to hear what she had to say. She increased its power capacity and broadened its bandwidth, this way she'll get many many many streams of non-lethal energy streaming through the crowd directly in front of her. This would deter people from going anywhere within her proximity and clear a path for her to charge through.

Charge straight into a trip mine. Her energy shield took the brought of the impact and she was largely unfazed, though its kinetic force did throw her suit off balance, but it was soon corrected. The citizens within proximity of the blast however were not so lucky. Also, whatever the Guard was, was within moments of being about her. Not that it mattered, from what she could tell the people here were quite primitive, and even without her shield or weapons, she could slaughter them just with her armor. Xeno's tended to be quite soft in general.

Daxton Bane was moving too fast for her catch up and currently out of range, her sensors couldn't ping a distinct location. Her Flight Layer was tracing an estimated route and going off of images in its path that appeared to be Daxton. From its crude calculations the center of the town was supposedly where he was headed. She had no way of knowing exactly where he was though, how close he was. Thus she sent her Flight Layer to the center of town and wait for him, while she pursued on her current path. Daxton would be caught between both of her halves theoretically, but there were any number of routes he could take to avoid the dilemma, or he could pull some trick she had no way of predicting or preparing for.

What Daxton left behind was a modified limplet mine, but instead of explosive shrapnel, what it contain was something standard to any pirates gear, Hyde Jack. A complex algorithm bomb designed to generate false images, conflicting data and corrupting files in any electronic device within 50 meters. Anything with an AI in the area of effect would be suddenly plagued with false positives, shadow images and an annoying animated face of Daxton on their HUD.

Dancing images of Daxton scattered in all directions as the real one suddenly paused in the shadows of an alley, waiting patiently to turn the tables on his hunter.

"Impossible." Iron Giant exclaimed at the sheer number of positives. "Impossible." It was obviously a ploy, but it was very effective. A fish that relied entirely on technological support could not function properly if her equipment did not. She had no counter to this, all she had was guns, a bunch of targets, and lots of flesh in between. She had two options:

Eliminate all positives deductively by process of elimination, or eliminate them all regardless of logic, until one of them fights back. She didn't know if the virus or whatever it was could be spread via communications, so she cut off connection with her flight layer to preserve the advantage of air power. She kept moving forward while she assessed the most effective means of attack. It was clear to her that civilian causality was nearly all but avoidable. Filling her grenade launcher with CryoBan grenades (like the ones Daxton had used on her) to slow down her prey and limit probably casualty as much as possible, and alternated them with Ion Grenades, in the hopes of reprimanding his technical deviancy's, she fired in several directions indicated a positive. Any area in which it there was no counter she command the suit to indicate the positive different from the rest, by demoting its strategic importance. It didn't alter the information being received, as it recognized the information as true despite its deception. Using this method should would by process of clever elimination eventually discover Daxton's hiding place.

Ammo of course though, was limited, so she had to use her resources tactfully. In less densely populated areas she rapidly fired into the area with her hand-held rifle or with an Autocannon blast. At other times she'd burst fire into a particular area with a shoulder mounted mini-gun. When nothing but a desolate area devoid of the correct body was identified its importance was demoted and she moved on, having little thought as to the moral implications of what she was doing. She was a warrior at heart and had always driven to kill in combat. She was further motivated by the perception of her targets cowardice and trickery. She understood the usefulness and usage of tactical retreats and generating ploys to distract the enemy for a main attack, but she was disappointed in his lack of retribution. It appeared as if he wanted to escape her fire power, rather than kill her as was to be expected from him.

Process of elimination and slow working debugging program continued to hunt for Bane, and pandemonium filled the streets as what appeared to be a belligerent machine fired randomly around the city.

Once enough of the virus infiltrated the system, it would take code and morph into two separate viruses. The first was an Alice in the Mirror variant, basically it turned every image of Daxton on the screen into an exact duplicate of the original. So a false image would react in the exact similiar way, although coming from a different angle and different direction, cheap and sneaky perhaps but who ever said, Daxton played fair.

The second virus was even more malicious. It was designed to try and find switches, access codes and data ports with the sole function of clicking them on and off at random intervals. Furthermore, if it were to gain access to the records of any kind, it would begin a random deletion as well as encyption into gibberish comprised of Sith runes and numbers.

Waiting for his prey to pass by, Daxton unexpectedly ignited his lightsabers, the hissing blades swinging to cut deep into the arm holding the flame thrower attachment, before vaulting over the rooftop and running off in a different direction.

The funny thing about a fish that only sees thermal, images don't appear to them... or their equipment. Also, it was highly unlikely to nigh impossible for him to have prepared a virus program compatible to her species or her species technological innovations. The same goes for ancient runes, they don't work in the way this would be hacker would suggest. In other words, her systems debugging program was capable of boxing in the malicious virus by pulling a few of her own switches, isolating the corrupted data to a particular section, to be debugged later. Deletion recover would be difficult though, at least it was deleted (recoverable though difficult), rather than overwritten with random data (that the Sith Runes would be for in ordinary technology).

In other words, his little trap had little effect other than to slow her down as her suit figured out what to do. Daxton Bane took this opportunity upon himself to cause her harm. She was already in the midst though of eliminating the false targets, and had a gun primed to fire at the moment her senors detected Daxton swinging his blade of plasma energy. Her arm swung back as a shoulder mounted miningun went wild with blaster fire, locking on to his heat signature as he jumped away. He had the high ground however, and her suit was no good at jumping. After a systems field check she felt confident that the virus corrupted regions of her suits programming was contained and now long infectious due to a slower rate of internal infection, she contacted her flight suit to pick her up. It zoomed towards her at high speeds, and curved around the street corners.

When the suit was attached and all four layers protecting Giant with weapons all over, she quickly scanned the area for any heat signature on the roof, to which a seeker missile would be launched in unison with a minigun flurry.

Dodging the retaliation strike, Daxton's mocking laughter haunted the air as he raced across the rooftops. He was well aware that the flight suit was on the way, and he was actually counting on it as he headed towards the city's central district. Glancing over his shoulder he could see the missile fired in his direction followed by the series of laser blasts. Reaching to the force, he gave the missile as violent shove into the path of some of the laser beams, causing a tremendous explosion which obscured him briefly as he leaped over the building's edge, the remaining bolts peppering the ground near his feet as well as drilling some neat holes in his flowing cape.

With inhuman grace, the Sith flew across the air before tucking and rolling on a nearby rooftop. Reaching the stairwell, he yanked the door open with the Force before taking a rapid decent down the stairs. If anyone was paying attention, this was the building that Daxton needed, a civilian hospital. Lots of tight corridors to limit the giant's height and firepower plus a lot of possible meat shields to use if necessary.
