Bespin Me Right Round, Baby (Mallisi)

Evard L'Rik

Got Lightning Running Through my Veins
Evard knew he was blinkering himself a little bit by not learning how to use a lightsaber beyond basic defense, but he was just stubborn like that. He used the Force as little as possible, even though the Dark Lord in his mind seemed to be receding. It was getting less and less likely that he would die when he touched the Force, but his mind was still uneasy at the idea.

He needed a way to defend himself from other Force-Users. They almost all carried lightsabers in some shape or form, and the energy blades were more than enough to cut the blonde Hapan into kibble. Evard was not a fan of being cut into kibble, so he'd dragged Mallisi with him out to Bespin to steal or trade for some Cortosis to build himself stronger limbs.

Evard was sleeping on his couch for no apparent reason. He hadn't given his Cathar girlfriend his room, but rather one of the nicer guest rooms that took up about half the space inside the electrum-covered Nubian yacht. The proximity alert beeped once, and then the ship came to a full stop. The ship was now in orbit around Bespin, if it interested either of the sleeping occupants.

You need to stop being so clever with the thread titles. :p

Pointed ears twitched slightly, sensitive hearing picking up the quiet ping from the cockpit. The owner, a young Cathar by the name of Mallisi, rolled over in her bed, for a moment unbalanced by surroundings she didn't recognize. Slowly the pieces fell back into place, and she sat up with a small smile, blinking the final cobwebs of sleep from her amber, feline-esque eyes. It was Evard's ship she was currently on, and the two had plotted a course for Bespin in order to obtain Cortosis to further enhance his prosthetics. Adventures of this sort weren't entirely unusual, but this would be her first time on one of them with her not belonging to the Republic.

After another few seconds of simply waking herself up she stood, stretching momentarily and making her slow, still sleepy way to the cockpit. It wasn't her first time in the pilot's chair, and she'd certainly flown a ship or two beforehand, and was aware of the mechanics. However, she hardly considered herself an expert. Taking a seat in the pilot's chair she briefly scanned the controls before waking the engines once more, nudging the ship forward and navigating it smoothly in-atmosphere. She wasn't entirely sure where to land, because as far as she'd known there hadn't been any place in mind, so she picked one of the nearest public spaceports and deployed the landing gear, setting the ship down as gently as possible.

Shutting down the systems and allowing everything time to settle she moved back through the ship to where Evard was sleeping, smiling when she found him on the couch yet again. It wasn't anything new, but he certainly knew just what sleeping positions would make for the most discomfort when he finally woke up.

Simply watching him for a moment she finally nudged him gently with the Force, that same smile on her face. "We're here."

Evard smiled sleepily, opening his eyes just enough so he could see where his hands were going. His arms went around Mallisi's waist and shoulders and he gently pulled her down onto the couch, and into his embrace. She felt warm, and he opened his eyes to nuzzle her neck a little bit.

"Good morning, Mally-cat. How was the view on the way in?"
