PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Besala possesses a pair of blue eyes that had gradually become tainted over the years of being exposed to the Dark Side. Now, her left eye had become corrupted into crimson colorations as a reflection of her innate hatred towards those who abandoned her, or at least that’s what she’s led to believe. She also possesses a head of dark hair that shines like a river of darkness that cascades just below her shoulder, but often, Besala tends to keep it in a braid or pulled into a tight bun.
That’s also assuming that Besala is showing her true face to others, and often, people outside of the Sith Order won’t see her face. Her choice of outfit is also reflected based on what persona she wishes to portray, either for the job or otherwise. Whether she’s a mere moisture farmer on Tattooine, impersonating as a merchant within Nar Shaddaa, or a handmaiden to the nobility. It depended on what the job called for in the end, but it would be done without her face being revealed. Otherwise, she’s commonly seen within the Sith Order wearing robes of dark coloration.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Besala appears to be unreadable on the surface through stoicism, but in truth, her shadow expresses her feelings better than any therapist could wrench out of her. There are only two things that Besala genuinely hated the most. One of them happens to be the Curse placed on her that forced her obedience to the Sith Order, and the second was the Sith Lord who placed said Curse on her. Otherwise, she’s particularly bitter towards the New Jedi Order due to her unfortunate past, but that bitterness has twisted over the years into something resentful towards the Jedi. This had earned her a new fear of abandonment, and it is partially why she’d stay with the Sith Order regardless of whether or not she had the Curse.
Besala can impersonate just about anyone with or without the mask. To her, it is more than a job, but a form of escapism to be somebody that she wasn’t. To live in somebody else’s life that wasn’t her own. To escape from the torment that continued to plague her existence. Yet, like a fleeting dream, Besala is quick to pick up when her position is compromised. And she won’t hesitate to eliminate those who got too close to her and clear her fabricated existence.
When she’s not wearing the mask, Besala must obey the Sith Order, and she can’t so much as raise a hand against them. In truth, she doesn’t hate the Order, but instead hates the one who placed the Curse on her. On the surface, Besala appears to be the perfect spy, but underneath is a broken, scared girl who will likely attach herself to anyone who has shown her even an ounce of kindness. Regardless of how the ulterior motives might appear, it’s a quick way to start earning her trust. All for the sake that no one would leave her again.
STRENGTHS
Pact of the Mist ~ Besala has not only delved into Sith Sorcery, but she has also managed to harness the mists of the dark side for both offensive and defensive purposes. Instead of focusing on causing intense pain, she manipulates the mist to serve other purposes as well, further heightening her frightening affinity towards the ability. She’s proficient in most basic Force Powers, but she favors the use of Telekinesis and Force Speed.
Ataru Adept ~ Like all who practice the art of lightsabers, Besala has adapted the use of Ataru as her favored style. She uses a combination of her uncanny insight and Shatterpoint to gain an advantage against her opponent, whether it’s to be used offensively or defensively.
Acolyte ~ Due to her rigorous training to be one amongst the Sith, Besala is no stranger to their ways, and consequently, she had to learn how to use her resources and opportunities to turn things to her favor. Manipulation is a valid tactic, especially when she needed a former rival to be removed entirely.
WEAKNESSES
Former Jedi Attachments ~ Though it had been years since Besala had been taken by the Jedi Order, occasionally she would feel the pull of someone she was close to. This can be anything from an old friend from her childhood, or perhaps a family that Besala thought had abandoned her. Either way, it’d be a good way to unsettle Besala’s otherwise iron-clad mind.
Curse of the Shadows ~ As a consequence of holding an affinity to the Mists, Besala’s body isn’t entirely her own anymore. Though her face would appear stoic and/or unreadable to most, her shadow tends to betray her. Whether this is simply to mock her superiors, or appear to be distracted when she’s not paying attention. Either way, Besala’s shadow tends to act as if it has a will of its own, when in reality it’s her own subconsciousness being reflected. This does tend to land her in trouble on occasion.
Force-Obligated Obedience ~ Besala possesses a second curse, or depending on how one looked at it. This was a true curse. No matter what might fall, Besala absolutely cannot betray the Sith Order in any way, shape, or form. Any attempts for her to do so would result in excruciating agony that could lead to death. This ensures unquestioning loyalty to the Sith, but it also earned her the nickname Hound. Only by the death of the curse-bearer can Besala ever be free from it.
HISTORY
Besala was once a Jedi Youngling within the New Jedi Order when it was still aligned with the Galactic Alliance. However, at some point, the temple that Besala resided in alongside many of her other peers was under attack by the Sith Order. This led to the Youngling’s kidnapping and the beginning of their introduction into the Sith Code. The rest, as they say, is history, as Besala spent the following years breaking free from the chains that held her in place. Except her former peers were the ones who paid the price for it. It wasn’t anything intentional, but one by one, the former Younglings competed with each other to become an Acolyte.
Some had done it for the sake of escaping the torment and borderline slavery they were enduring at the time. Others did it because they gradually became drunk in power as they delved headfirst into the Dark Side of the Force. But not Besala. No, instead, she was sent to missions that would have been the death sentences of many, including delving into ancient ruins and unlocking arcane puzzles to acquire the next artifact. It wasn’t a contest of power in her case, but a pull of the Dark Side itself. A pull that Besala was initially afraid of, but had gradually become confident as she navigated around ancient droids and beasts that tended to reside within such places.
Once, Besala placed her trust in another, a Bothan named Bek, who offered an alliance in becoming an apprentice of another Sith Lord. However, it was later revealed that it was Bek’s method of claiming credit for Besala’s discovery, and effectively earning the favor of the higher-ups as a result. She was seething, but patient. For Bek was stronger with the blade than herself, and any form of outright retaliation would only spell her execution. Instead, Besala allowed Bek to bask in his fabricated glory and in his drunken state within the cantina. Besala proceeded to spike his drink with a poison that worked slowly but effectively over time. He was too engrossed in revealing the tale of his supposed exploits in the past, and it turned out that he was responsible for many deaths amongst the students. Including those they grew up with, but he never admitted aloud. Instead, Besala pieced it together from the fragmented stories that he was foolishly parading about, and it sealed his fate in her eyes.
Besala didn’t poison the man in pursuit of status or power, but to avenge those who had died by Bek’s hand. It was a quest of revenge, and it was best served cold. She purposefully diluted the poison to be non-lethal, but it was enough to cause Bek problems in the upcoming trials. Besala continued to keep her head down while spying on the other students and Sith Lords. As in she was actively paying attention to them, such as noting their habits, what they tended to do, their schedules, and noting anything that seemed suspicious. Besala didn’t know it at the time, but she was being watched as well. By investigating the internal affairs and consistent humiliation of Bek’s part who continued to fail at the tasks assigned to him.
Bek crawled back to her, unaware that she had been the hand that had given him the ailment over the past few months, and had practically begged the fellow peer to assist him in unlocking a tomb that was crawling with Sithspawn. Of course, Besala wrung it into her favor as she made sure to keep an audio recording of the conversation. By striking a deal that if she were to help him, then he must return the favor in an unlimited capacity in the future. Bek foolishly agreed to it as he was more than eager to receive her aid due to his life being on the line.
Together they ventured into the ancient tomb of a Sith Lord, and this time Besala didn’t confront the spawn. Instead, she was able to maneuver around such creatures to the point where Bek was forced to deal with them himself. He blatantly accused Besala of betraying her word until it was revealed through the recording that she only agreed to help him unlock the tomb. Anything else would require a drastic charge, and Bek ended up refusing her exploit. Not that she needed him for the Bothan had proven to be the perfect distraction as he blundered every attempt to sneak past the Sithspawn. Where one failed, however, created an opportunity for Besala to venture deeper into the tomb until finally she uncovered the heart of said tomb. It was there that Besala discovered the Mist. A manifestation of the Dark Side energy, and within it was a sarcophagus that had remained undisturbed for centuries, if not longer.
Bek had finally caught up with her, however, and by holding her at lightsaber point claimed the discovery of the sarcophagus to himself. Besala initially resisted by shoving him away through the Force, but it ended up sending him straight towards the sarcophagus. Turned out that it was trapped as Bek triggered what looked to be living shadows as it devoured him whole. Due to the sacrifice, the sarcophagus cracked open to reveal an artifact in the shape of a pen. A pen that didn’t require ink, but instead wrote in blood. Besala didn’t know what it was, but after she safely claimed it by wrapping it with her robe. Besala returned to the respective Sith Lord and informed them of their Apprentice’s fate while basking in his success. Thus earning her first step outside of the cage.
