BIOGRAPHY:

Born into House Khal, a clan of the Hapan nobility, Ben was sent to the Jedi Order at a relatively late age, becoming a Padawan in his early teens. He was apprenticed to Master Oukranos Cthylla, a Pylantian Jedi with whom he had a complicated and often strained relationship. A deeply private individual, Ben didn't have much of a chance to make friends before problems on his homeworld sparked a chain of events with disastrous consequences.

The assassination of his cousin Shaya Khal and her betrothed, Prince Astor Daaray, at the hands of a rebel terrorist organization ignited long-simmering tensions in the Hapes Cluster. Though some still remember it as the Hapes Crisis, make no mistake; it was a civil war. The Jedi Order sought to remain neutral in the conflict, but when Ben discovered that his own master was working with the terrorists, he chose to act. He sided with the Consortium, a decision which regrettably led him to duel the Jedi Shadow Drystan Creed , who defeated him in battle.

The civil war ended with the death of Queen Mother Kha'la Daaray and the ascension of her younger sister Nimaa'ri to the throne of Hapes. In the aftermath, Ben was brought before the Council to face the consequences of his actions. Rather than let them cast judgment, he decided to take the Barash and returned to his family on Hapes, where he spent the next two years.

Now sixteen, Ben has returned to the Order to resume his training. His time in exile seems to have humbled him, though that is not the only thing which has changed...

Act I: The Hapan Padawan

Fourteen year old Ben Khal, the son of a Hapan noble house on the rise, becomes a Jedi Padawan. He is assigned to Jedi Master Oukranos Cthylla, with whom he develops a strained partnership. Cultural differences complicate his relationships with his fellow Jedi. Despite his respect for the Order, when a political crisis arises on Hapes, he chooses loyalty to his homeworld's government over the Council's orders.

However, he remains bound to his duties at home. House Khal continues to seek more power and prestige, though their reach may exceed their grasp.
