Kei smiled.

He sat on the top of the cliff, legs dangling over the edge. He looked casual, tunic and trousers. The holoprojectors around his belt were doing well to hide his true identity, the Sith armour that he was trapped in. Neither Rex nor his newest friend, Cassiopeia had seen him in the suit of armour and he wasn't really looking to scare them off before they began the lesson.

It was weird, in some ways that he and Rex had become clan mates, brothers. Kei wasn't all up on his Mandalorian culture, but he had been invited to Clan Australis by Kaine and had accepted the invitation. He assumed he now had a debt to the rest of the clan, though he honestly didn't have a clue. He assumed Kaine would correct him if he did anything insulting to the culture.

Gray would be happy that Kei had finally joined a Clan. He'd just be disapointed Kei hadn't joined Clan Raxis.

Rex had worked with Kei throughout his time within the Commenor System's Alliance. Kei had known then that the man was force sensitive, he had felt it. Rex had apparently felt that one of their clan mates was also force sensitive. Therefore Kei had sent out the invites, invited them to Rex's little science centre on Geonosis to learn something about the power they held.

Kei thought back to Mysa. It had been a while since he'd last seen her, last taught her. She wouldn't even recognise him now, he had changed so much since they had last spoken to each other. She would hate him for tumbling, falling down the dark path, but she would understand why he had. He wasn't as evil as most others who wore the banner of the darkside, she would understand that.

He watched the two identical shuttles approach the clearing at the bottom of the cliff.

Both Rex and Cassiopeia would have been given instructions to land aboard The Dutchman. Both would have been seperated, placed on seperate shuttles before they were flown individually towards the clearing. Both shuttles would land opposite each other, facing each other. When both Rex and Cassiopeia exited the shuttles, they would be facing each other.

Kei stood up, shouting.

"You may have noticed you have no way out. That is because you must climb. That may seem simple, for you are both Mandalorian's. However, there may be an extra challenge"

The shots would begin. They were rubber, they would hurt but they wouldn't kill. Four members of Kei's personal army, two for each person in the clearing. That was the extra challenge, they would have to sense the bullets in the force and dodge them or else they would end up with some nasty bruises and some even worse cuts. Rubber bullets were painful, even if they didn't kill.

"The four men shooting at you are my finest shooters. This is because they rarely miss a shot. All you have to do is get up to me. Reach out, feel the bullets coming towards you and dodge them."

Cassiopeia was nervous. She was Force sensitive, but it was something she had never really explored or really even experienced. She had little to no control over it and the only times it had been useful was during life or death situations. Truly, she only had a vague idea about how the Force worked. Or how she could control it. She had mostly resigned herself to never using it. After all, no one could teach her. And she was a busy person. Between teaching kids, getting involved in MandalArms, to doing other important assignments for the Mandalorian Empire, and so forth. It came as a surprise but an opportunity she couldn't pass up when this new guy joined Australis. And then invited to train her and Rex, another Australis. Rex had been on Concord Dawn, during the battle. She didn't meet him there, of course, but she knew he was there through the others.

As such, Cassi made sure she was prepared for the day. She had chosen to wear blue jeans and a grey t-shirt. Simple, easy, and ready for whatever the day would hold. What did the day hold? It seemed a bit mysterious. She and Rex never made contact with each other. She simply followed the instructions given by the mysterious Kei, new Australis dude. She wondered how they'd meet, how the lesson would begin. Maybe it would just be introductions at first, then some basic stuff like... What did Force people do? Pour glasses with it or something? Light saber chops and crap? She already decided she wasn't going to be using a light saber, though. She was terrible at close combat.

In either case, the small vessel landed and she stepped out. She squinted a little, listening as the man who was at least 150 feet in the air called out to them. She had to think about what was about to happen. She perked a brow towards Rex and his vessel.

They had to climb the cliff. Okay, that was kind of doable. She hadn't climbed anything in a while, but she wasn't in bad shape or anything. It was possible for her to do.

What she wasn't expecting was the sound of guns firing and the feeling of a rubber bullet slamming into her body. She screamed a little, quickly beginning to run. What the hell, this guy is freaking crazy. She couldn't even lift a cup, how the hell could she sense bullets? Or move bullets out of her way? She very quickly ran towards the start of the cliff, her eyes already getting teary from the pain that was shooting across her body as the bullets slammed into her.

Rex had gone to the Dutchman earlier in that day. He had an invited to something by [member="Kei Raxis"]. At Rex's own facilities which was even stranger. But it didn't matter to much, he had worked with Kei within the CSA. He board a shuttle down to the surface as he was instructed to do. He was soon going to find out why he was needed.

It reminded him of the time he had trained with Kurenai. She had asked him to join her on Astria so he and Savoh had left Tython for Astria. He learned how to perform Niman along with some force techniques. He had built his light sabre staff under her tutelage it has saved his life more than a few time. But that was why he had made the staff of remembrance to give him something a little different that people wouldn't expect. And.... He was snapped out of it as the shuttle hit the ground.

The door opened and he saw [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"]. Then he heard Kei Talk about scaling the cliff, Rex looked down he had decided not to wear his armour so it would be more doable than normal. But the he heard about the rubber bullets and sharpshooter. That would make it some what more difficult but nothing he couldn't deal with. So he began focusing on everything around him, moving ever so slightly out of the bullets paths walking to the start of the cliff he then shield himself with the force and went into a place in his mind he wouldn't feel pain. He wasn't used to deflecting bullets so every so often he was hit by one as he began trying to climb up.

Kei heard the shots.

He smiled slightly. He was enjoying watching the bullets fly through the air, pummeling their targets within seconds of leaving the barrel of the rifle they were fired from. Neither of the two learners were in any danger, of course. Kei would catch them in the force if they fell during their climb, he could feel every movement the duo made. He was focusing on both of them, studying how they moved and how they quivered when a bullet hit them.

Both of them were climbing like their lives depended on it. Rex was doing much better, it was clear to Kei that he had recieved training prior from a source. It was the female, Cassiopeia who was having the most issue. She had clearly never been trained to focus on the force, to feel out and judge the bullets flying towards her at high speed and high power. She had obviously never experienced this before.

Kei leant over the edge of the cliff, watching the duo.

"Close your eyes. Imagine the force as a bubble around you. Force that bubble to expand around your person, feel everything within that bubble"

Kei looked towards the soldiers closest to Rex. They would swap out their rifles for rapid fire machine weapons. He was obviously having too easy a time, and so Kei planned to make it harder for him. The two soldiers firing upon Rex would begin to open fire using the rapid fire machine weapons, bullets flying towards him at high speeds and a higher frequency. They were also using different ammunition. Rubber bullets with metallic tips, heavy bullets.

It would hurt, it would cause cuts and bleeding. It wouldn't kill Rex though.

Kei figured he'd enjoy the challenge.

Cassiopeia was still on the rifles stage. Kei kept an eye on her, he knew that he would need to help her. She was struggling, Kei was the teacher and therefore he had to help her. He knew that by time she left Geonosis, she would be much better at sensing things in the force, she would be learning to control it. Kei just needed to get her to that stage, it would be a task but he knew that he could do it, that Cassipeia could do it.

Cassiopeia couldn't believe she had gotten herself into this mess. What was she thinking, accepting some type of invitation like this? A stranger, maybe someone who wasn't even part of the clan after all. Maybe he faked it or some crap. She knew she wasn't thinking rationally, though.

Maybe there was some twisted point to being thrown into an arena, climb a cliff, while also getting shot repeatedly with rubber bullets. She was going to curse the guy out, though. She had decided that. She couldn't keep thinking about how crazy the guy was though. She had to actually live through this. She had to focus on not following off the cliff.

How the hell was she supposed to climb her eyes when she was a good 20-25 feet in the air, hanging to the cliff by a few loose rocks? Or even begin to imagine anything with rubber bullets smashing against her skin, with deep purple bruises showing up all over her body? She highly doubted such a thing would work, especially in her situation. She had no idea how to use the Force in anyway, how would imaging something not there work?

She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, hanging tightly onto the spot she was at. She imagined a Force around her, a small bubble. She tried to feel inside that bubble. For a second, she didn't feel the bullets hit her. She opened her eyes wide, astounded.

The problem? It hadn't been a bubble. The marksmen had to reload their weapons with more rubber bullets. It was only seconds later that the bullets began smashing into her back again. She started squirming up the cliff. Heck, maybe she wasn't Force sensitive and it was just coincidence those few times. She did try to keep the idea of a field around her, but it seemed to be for naught. The only Force that seemed to have happened was one of the bullets that ended doing a curve around her - but still slamming into her left arm.

Her vision had become blurry with the tears that were streaming down her face. The pain was incredible. Was there still a way to get out of this?

Rex was making good time. He was glad he was trained previously under Kurenai. He had already passed the Cassiopeia but he could feel the mando woman. But he had force empathy rather strongly, so he could feel the pain the woman was in. She was being pummelled by the rubber bullets. He decide Clan mates help each other, it was part of the mando code, wasn't it? "Cassiopeia imagine being in a forest of shady trees with a bunch of flowers. Now imagine bees or birds in this forest, imagine something around you stopping them from getting close."

Just after he had said that, something suddenly cut him. He spotted it as it passed. It was a metal tipped bullet. Okay time to change tactics he focuses everything he has into his force shield, so that all the bullets went around him. But he slowed down significantly though, to split his focus less, he would move when the men would reload it was becoming slow going.

Kei almost felt bad.

Rex Taff had all but mastered the climb, his use of a force shield was clever. It wasn't something that Kei would have thought of using, he had never bothered with force shield and he was pretty sure that none of the former Sith who had donned his armour had either. His tactic of only moving when the two men stopped to reload was also rather clever, something that Kei would have thought of doing, only climbing when it was clear.

Cassiopeia was struggling. Kei could see that, she was being pummeled by the bullets and looked close to tears. Kei felt the force bubble expand from her but he had noticed that she'd stopped the moment the bullets came for her. She lacked confidence that both he and Rex had due to experience. She had clearly never relied on the force like the two men had, she hadn't grown reliant on the power and therefore she didn't trust it.

Kei began a slow climb down the ledge, quicker than either Rex or Cassiopeia were scaling it. He was relying on the force, he had more trust in it that either of the two climbers. Plus, he knew that he could risk falling because he'd be caught by the cleverly placed safety mats at the bottom of the cliff. He wasn't going to mention that though, he had faith in himself that he could catch them, but the mats were extra protection.

He stopped just above Cassiopeia. The bullets would rain down on Rex, faster as all four men would focus fire on him. Two would fire and two would reload, there would be bullets raining down on him at all times. Kei grinned to himself, it was more fun to torment the man he knew, the Commenor Systems Alliance member who obviously had more training that Kei had given him credit for. It was way more fun to watch him suffer.

"Cassiopeia, close your eyes. Close your eyes, press against the wall. I'll even hold you against it so you won't fall. I want you to imagine that bubble, trap me in that bubble and tell me what you feel. I want you to feel the living force spreading from me, protecting me. I want you to be able to feel every single thing, moving and immobile within that bubble"

She was continually moving slower. She could feel the slow speed she was making. It was driving her crazy. The sooner she could get to the top, the sooner these bullets would stop. The sooner this would be over. The sooner she could take a bucket load of painkillers.

She didn't understand this whole close your eyes and hope something happens concept. Pretend their was bees or something coming from her and pretend their was something around her that could stop them? She wondered how exactly these two people could do that - she was busy trying to not become a creamy blue and black paste made out of rubber bullets. She didn't have time to think about some bees hovering around her. Maybe she could pretend the bullets were bees? But she karking knew it was bullets.

She was slowly making progress, despite the beating of bullets though. She was physically getting tired though. The pain itself was the worst part - she could climbed the cliff with relative ease. It was the bullets that was destroying her.

She was shaking by this point and was just trying to grab the next rock, pull herself up, use her feet to put on the rock below her. What was she? 50 feet now? Just trying to stay attached to the cliff. In what seemed like eternity, the bullets stopped pummeling her. She then saw Kei above her. The brief respite was welcomed, although the aching and pain from the other hundreds of bullets that hit her body seemed to intensify.

She bit her lip hard and nodded weakly as he explained what to do. She pressed herself against the wall, as much as possible, and tried to focus on creating this imaginary bubble him and Rex kept talking about. The bubble that just wouldn't come out from her. Maybe she just didn't have enough of whatever those things were called to actually do anything. She took a deep breath, though, and tried to focus. She felt her hands and feet on the rock, she felt the rock. She heard Kei's breathing. She heard the bullets unloading on Rex. She could only feel pain though. She tried to imagine bees flying around her and she was trying to create a bubble but it didn't seem to be doing much good.

For a moment, though, she did feel it. She felt the protection from the Force - or was it just from Kei's own Force? She wasn't sure. She tried to imagine some bubble around him. "I... I can't feel anything around you," she said, slightly exasperated. Why couldn't she get this?

Rex was closing in on the top slowly. That was when both the set of men focused fire on him. Kei was trying to challenge him while making it easier for Cassiopeia. He knew that was the right thing to do, he could feel Cassiopeia's pain. He split his mind for half a second to send some of the force towards Cassiopeia, he used it to help heal her wounds and give her some peace. Amazingly not once did he drop the bubble around him. This surprised him. I could attack and defend at the same time but I will need to become stronger as I imagine it will take double the energy from me or I should I start drawing it from the planet. He thought about it some more before finding a plant within the force, he took some of it force and drew some from some insects as well.

He felt the force flow through him as he did so he began using it in his tired limbs. He then sped up the speed he could his arms and legs make some more time. The bullets flying all around him as they did so he made it up to where Cassiopeia and Kei were. Then passed them he was going to make it. That was when then his force shield began to fail, he was pelted by several bullets before turning his full attention back on it again. He was almost there it was 10ft. away. He just had to make the 10ft.

Life and death.

It was the best way to feel the force. Life and death caused reactions in the force, the force completely took over one's body and allowed you to do stupid stunts to save one's life. It was a natural reaction to danger that the force provided a person. Cassiopeia knew she was force sensitive, she had witnessed the force take over her body and power her forward. The force had saved her life on many an occasion.

Kei reached to his side while Cassiopeia was closing her eyes, feeling out in the force. He turned a few dials on the side of his weapon, the lightsaber he had crafted when he was still hanging out with the lightside of the force. He had a theory, it was a good idea on how he could get Cassiopeia to tap into the force and accept that it was a thing that she could control and that she could manipulate to help herself.

She couldn't feel the force, but Kei could feel it pouring from her. Kei chose to instruct her to close her eyes again, keep picturing the bubble. It had been too long since he'd had to use the pretend bubble to master the force, it was now second nature to him. He no longer had to think of a bubble, he was good enough to just push the force from him and feeling it pour from his body, as well as everyone else.

He felt the force around Cassipeia. Then he ignited the lightsaber and swung it at the back of her head.

Cassiopeia tried to recover herself. To feel this so called Force. At least she had a moments respite from rubber bullets and being talked to and other things. She took a deep breath. The pain was everywhere, but at least she hadn't fallen off yet. She made it farther up the cliff than she expected. That was something of an accomplishment.

In either case, Kei's attempts at getting her to do this Force junk wasn't working. Well, it kinda worked but then immediately didn't. What was she suppose to do? Somehow make little things in her DNA or whatever suddenly work when it rarely works anyways? Maybe...

She heard something turn on. Was that... A lightsaber? Her eyes widened as she glanced towards Kei. It only took a second to processed what was going on. She felt like it slowed for a moment. She let out a small scream as she figured she'd be dead, her head rolling off and on the ground. She let out a small scream. If she was dead, she'd be in all sorts of Force stuff. Depending on a persons religious beliefs, anyways.

But then it happened. And she felt it. The bubble poured out of her protecting at least the upper half of her body from the lightsaber. Cassiopeia focused, honing in on the bubble that she now felt with great intensity. She felt every little thing inside the bubble, from the vibrations of the lightsaber to her breath, the small sweat droplets that were falling off her.

Half of her couldn't believe it happened. The other half wanted to strangle this so called teacher. He just tried to kill her! "What the kark?!"

The men continued their efforts on him. As he finally pulled himself over the cliff but he left the force bubble up around himself just in case they were told to continue even after he had reached the top. He looked down at [member="Kei Raxis"] and [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"]. He was watching when Kei activated his lightsabre only then did Cassiopeia bubble expand and exist in the force. He could feel the surprise and anger radiate off of her.

It came at him in waves and knocked his own force bubble out of wack. It also knocked him out of his place in his mind. He looked shocked himself and could feel some memories hit him as he collapsed. He was back on Csilla, he was in his apartment with his best friend and lover the one who's life he had ended. They were laughing and smiling at something he had said as the guilt hit him. He replayed this day in his head sometimes for happy memories but this time something was dark. It was giving him pain.

He could feel the dark side ready to scoop him up and eat him whole with it's lies. The Light side was also ready to take him though it was ready to rebirth him as a paladin, symbol for justice. Neither of these fit him though. It was then a third figure appeared offered him the light with the dark and the dark with the light. That was the figure he still felt most aligned with, it could have been anyone but it accepted everyone and didn't try to change them. That was the one he felt aligned with the one he would always be. The one the Gray.

It was after this his eyes fluttered open. But he remained still. He would ponder this later.

Kei felt proud.

He could handle being chewed out by the female, even as she was questioning him he had a stupid grin plastered across his face. The lightsaber hovered inches from Cassiopeia, the gentle hum a signal for success. Kei felt the force radiating from Cassipeia, flowing from her with more power than it had flown from her since they began only minutes before. Kei felt the force pouring from her, power she had that could be controlled.

Kei deactivated the weapon, still hanging from the cliff with one hand. He clipped the weapon back to his belt, still grinning from ear to ear in the general direction of Cassiopeia. Kei leant back against the wall, reaching out in the force and feeling the two riflemen training their sights back on Cassiopeia. She had unlocked her potential, now she just needed to use it to finish the climb, get to the top and breath.

"It worked. I can feel the force from you, stronger than it has been all day. Now use that, expand that bubble to feel the bullets and finish the climb"

And then the shooting began once again.

Kei got out of there quickly, having scaled the cliff prior. He knew the best way to climb, plus he had the advantage of not being shot at like Cassiopeia and Rex. He was at the top of the cliff pretty quickly, watching as Cassiopeia made the climb, bullets raining down on her. Kei turned a dial on the side of his weapon, increasing the power once again. He knew he'd forget to do that if he left it, he always did.

Rex had made it to the top. He would find a small campfire as well as a small seating area and bread. He would be able to rest and eat. There would be a note, giving him a general hint of the next task. It was simply a drawing of a shuttle, not much of a hint but a hint none the less. They wouldn't be staying at the cliff face, Kei had lined up other challenges and brought other toys with him to teach the duo.

And so, they waited.

Cassiopeia was a bit in shock over the sudden outburst of power from her. She could feel it deep inside her - in her heart, her veins, her arteries. She felt it all come to life. It was... A strange, indescribable feeling. It was extraordinary yet terrifying. She felt some control over it, but she didn't really understand how she was controlling it.

She nodded to Kei as he explained what she needed to do. She could do it. She noticed Rex out of the corner of her eye, having made it to the top. She hoped he was okay. He seemed like he relatively knew what he was doing, though. With a grunt, she begfan to move up as fast as she could. She could feel the bullets coming towards her, but she felt none hit her, at least during the first few minutes of her climb. At least, not yet. She could feel the bullets as they entered her bubble, feeling their speed.

She wasn't sure how, but some seemed to be deflected away from her. It seemed like time had slowed for others and she was able to move her body in a way that avoided it - despite not being able to see the bullet.

By now, she was close to the top. Her body and mind was tired and she felt some of the bullets slip through, piercing her back and arms. It wasn't too many, but enough to cause her face to grimace at the sudden pain again.

Finally, she pulled herself over the cliff, breathing heavily but out of the line of fire. She used her knees to prop herself up as she tried to gain her breath back. The bubble around her fell instantly. And suddenly, a wave of nausea overran her. She ran to a nearby bush, vomited for a minute or so. She came back fairly defeated, dark circles under her eyes as she sat down next to the fire. She looked at the note and took the bread. She stared at the note for a minute, unable to really process what was going on. She was so tired, so sleepy. She really needed a nap.

Moving to the small seating area he grab some bread and was eating it when [member="Kei Raxis"] reappeared. He nodded to the man, while looking at the paper. It had a shuttle on it. He had survived shuttle crashes before if that was what it was. He then though about the Gray figure. The one who stood between the light and the dark. It didn't stop either and accepted both. He felt a kinship with that figure. Maybe one day he would find someone else who felt the same was as he did.

When [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"] came up she when and threw up behind a bush. Poor woman must have never used the force before to such extent. He could feel her emotions raging inside her. She was tired and done. He would have to try to help her with it. But that would come later he would wait for Kei to explain the next task. "So what's next Kei?"

Kei let the duo rest.

He left them for an hour, vanishing to the shuttle docked behind the little encampment. The duo would be able to rest and eat, drink and relax before Kei tried to kill them again. It was less attempted murder and more aggressive training. Kei knew that it was one of the best ways to get the duo to learn, to master the power that they had, the power that would influence their lives. Kei knew it was a good way to force them to learn.

Once the duo had rested, the two shuttles that they had arrived on would raise up behind them. They would hover above the cliff, just waiting. The four soldiers who were shooting at the duo upon the cliff face would stand behind Kei, weapons obviously locked and loaded. They would be focused on the duo, Rex and Cassiopeia. Kei would grin towards them, gesturing towards the shuttles that were hoving in the middle of the valley, above the hundred and fifty foot drop.

"You both made it to the top, well done. However, for your next task we will be required to move from this location. The only way to get there is to access your specific shuttle. Cassiopeia, you will be trying to access the left shuttle while Rex tries to access the right. They will not open for you, they will not move closer to you. You will be required to use the force to pull open the shuttle door and then you will be required to use the force to make entry to your shuttle. We leave in five minutes, if you can't access your shuttle by then you will be left behind, you will be left here and you will be required to find a new way home"

"Am I understood?"

Cassiopeia felt weak, tired. She couldn't believe she agreed to this or that Kei would pull this kind of crap on her and Rex. How were they supposed to actually do this? Well, how was she supposed to do this? Rex obviously had already used the Force - she had never used it before, at least not intentionally. As such, her free hour atop the cliff was one of relaxation and small nibbles. Her stomach was still relatiley queasy, so she couldn't eat too much of the bread that was given to her and Rex. She wasn't sure if she even wanted to eat that much of it.

She tried that thing she knew Jedi people did. Meditating and all that crap. It really wasn't something she thought did any benefit to her, at least not in this situation. It really felt like a lost hour once Kei had come back to torture them. Or at least her. Rex seemed to be in better condition.

She stood, although not quite with the strength she was expecting (or was she really expecting anything, truly?) With a deep breath, she looked towards the left shuttle, her heart sinking realizing they would have to do that Force jump thing people talked about. There would be no way to get to it easily without using the Force. She groaned quietly, not wanting this anymore. Can she forfeit? Quit? Maybe she could just stay on top of the cliff. No, she really couldn't, all 4 of them jerk knobs had their guns pointed at her and Rex already.

With a deep sigh, she sprinted towards the edge of the cliff, focusing on trying to move the door. She spent a little bit of time creating a little Force shield thing, whatever she was able to do before. It looked like it was working... Kinda? Maybe? She'd see when those bullets started, at least.

Rex had half known what to expect. He saw how [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"] was fairing she wasn't great and [member="Kei Raxis"] 's challenge would most likely kill her. He would see that she at least made it to whatever was next. It didn't matter to him there would be other ways off world for him. He knew this planet Cassi was a visitor. She wouldn't last. He simply stood near his instead focusing on hers and her.

As Cassi made the leap he use telekinesis to help her and then opened the shuttle doors for her through the force. It would weaken him but at least Cassi would pass the challenge Kei could reprimanded him all he liked. They were Clan members, brother and sister. The sister was in trouble so the brother would help her. He would help her till she made it to her craft then he would make efforts on his.

No matter the outcome of it Rex was severely weakened for his own one and he was sure as anything they would fire at him. He would be ready for them. But he wasn't sure he would make his shuttle. He had used maybe to much energy helping Cassi. But either he was getting on here or he would find another way. He knew this planet and it's cities and where it's starports were.
